Worst hotel experience ever!!! They actually rented me a room that was already being occupied. And actually thought i would change rooms wit the hope of no one attempted to come in my occupied/ rented space! No thanks!Safety: Room may possibly be occupied by someone else so try to be safe

So I stay in La Mesa at least once a month to visit family, and with the high cost of rooms I decided to give Harvey's a try. It's a small mom & pop family run motel. It's clean outside and quiet (I was here during the week). It's a room, no extras, no frills. It didn't seem like they had any shady characters staying or hanging out there.The reason for 3 stars is the room cleanliness fell short. Disgusting long dark hair everywhere on the floor and bathtub. The floors were dirty. Needed to be mopped. The shower wall was dirty and I found gum stuck to the head board. They definitely need to get a better cleaning service. Would I stay again? Probably not. It's more of a spot to sleep one night and be on your way. I definitely wouldn't want to hang out in the room other than to sleep, not cozy at all. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. Staff wasVery nice.

I have stayed here a couple nights and it is very simple standard rooms but well kept and clean, staff and owners are very very nice, welcoming and friendly. When visiting again and want a good nights rest I would stay here.

Our choice was to stay at the HARVEYS HOTEL! Great decision!! we had a quite good night sleep, very clean, staff very professional and friendly and fun! Check in, check out made so easy? before we left the parking lot we said this is where we would stay next time we’re in town! Keep up the good work! I had a wonderful stay at Harvey's Motel. I was in San Diego visiting a friend and needed an inexpensive place to stay closeby. Often the smaller budget/no-frills roadside motels can be "sketchy," but Harvey's is definitely an exception. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming and even greeted me by name. The on-site parking lot was tidy and well-lit with plenty of spaces. I stayed in an upstairs "deluxe" room. Keeping in mind this is a budget/no frills motel, I was pleasantly surprised to find the room bright, clean and spacious. Everything was in excellent working order, from the lights ...to the TV, ...to the mini fridge and microwave ...and most importantly the AC! All the light switches were intuitively placed. Electrical sockets were available right above the nightstands on each side of the bed.I'm guessing the bathroom was recently renovated because the toilet and shower both looked new.As mentioned, this is a no-frills property, so they don't provide fancy soap or shampoo. And while the towels and linens were very clean, they're basic hotel stock. There are several great restaurants within walking distance. Despite being located right on a busy boulevard, the motel is relatively calm and quiet.I'll be back!Thanks, Harvey!

A few things I didn't like was you couldn't take a bath, the soda machine didn't work, & you had pay $0.25 for ice. Really?? Ice?? The staff was nice but you need a car, & make sure you bring some food & drinks

Horrible!I booked for a week to stay here. When arriving reservation was to be honored, but owner/manager informed me absolutely no guests were allowed. Please help me understand if coming from out of town to visit, how can I not be permitted guests. Very unprofessional. This is a big fat NO recommendation. Don't even book here. Sleep in your car first before even thinking of booking here.
