Overall a pretty smooth process getting a HELOC with Griffin. Staff is communicative, and there are several people working on each loan, so you have multiple contacts to reach out to when you need a question answered. Would definitely consider using them again in the future!

Had a great experience working with my Loan Officer Charles Toll. My Loan Processing Assistant Andromeda was great to work with day to day as I had questions or items were needed. Andromeda really helped keep the team and process moving. Molly my Senior Loan Processor was always there with an answer to my tough questions. The team as a whole made my complex loan process go as smoothly as possible. Thank you

I am self employed with several businesses and a credit score of 804. I initially went with Griffin Funding because they advertise themselves as being for self employed business people, like myself. I talked to Scott Dennisen and Greg Deskin. They talked really sweet. They pestered me to send confidential information about my assets, income, and other financial information. They then disappeared. Would NOT reply to multiple efforts to contact them. Totally ghosted me. Coincidentially, I noticed unknown entries on my credit report. I wonder, once they got all my financial info, what did they do?? Why not just tell an applicant that they dont qualify, instead of wasting my time and playing games? GRIFFIN FUNDING IS A FRAUD COMPANY. DO NOT USE.
Instead, I successfully closed on a property with another company, Best Loan Choice in Lutherville-Timonium, MD. Cory of Best Loan Choice was professional and found a great program that fitted me perfectly as a self employed businessperson. DO NOT GO WITH GRIFFIN FUNDING, THEY ARE A FRAUD COMPANY.

Lauren called me and it was less than pleasant.
Gave her all relative information and she failed to take notes and kept asking repetitive questions and arguing.
I have 50+ doors and property investment, development is my fulltime job. This woman talking down to me like she's doing me a favor. Horrible experience,

This was my 8th real estate transaction and The quality of Griffin Funding's service is far better than any lender I've worked with. They work fast and thoroughly to get financing for people of nearly any financial or credit circumstances. Highly recommend!

This isn't my first loan but it is my first DSCR loan. At the start of my loan process everything was flowers.
Griffin Funding offers great products and they are at competitive rates, Ryles did a good job explaining in detail his answers to my questions. I don't know what happened halfway through the loan that communication started to fail, we weren't given clear instructions on what was required, we were chasing documents that were irrelevant, and we were stressed till the last minute on the closing date. I don't know if I am a one-off case and everybody in the loan processing department was busy with other loans but my experience was not great. The VP of Operations eventually had to step in on the communication which helped. Not to mention underwriting requirements changed halfway through my loan so I had to come out of pocket another ~$10k for down payment? Its not the amount that I was unhappy with but the clear drop in communication.
I am not going to name the staff I was dissatisfied but Griffin should take this as a case study to improve their customer service and efficiency.
Ultimately they still deserve some stars given because of the loan products they offer, they tried to make it right (sorta), and because of the communication from Katie (Ryle's assistant) and the VP of operations. Had it not been for this my review would be lower.
