Goodwill Retail Store and Donation Center, located in downtown La Jolla, is a small thrift store that has garnered mixed reviews. Some customers find it to be overpriced, noting that certain items, like Patagonia clothing, are priced higher than typical Goodwill rates, making it feel more like a consignment store or boutique. Despite the pricing concerns, many appreciate the store's cleanliness and maintenance, and some have found great deals on upscale and luxury items. The layout consists of small interconnected rooms, with clothing being the primary focus, while the selection of house goods is limited. While some shoppers wish for better organization by size, others note the reasonable prices on clothing, often under $10. The store is busy, reflecting its popularity, and parking can be challenging as it is limited to street options. However, the customer service stands out, as many reviewers praise the friendly and attentive cashiers. Overall, Goodwill Retail Store is a unique spot for those looking to hunt for quality items in a nice area, despite the pricing and organization challenges.
Seems more like a consignment store or boutique than a Goodwill. They keep increasing their prices on everything. They want to get EBay $$ value on their items , however without a return policy or warranty. It defeats the purpose of being a thrift store.

The cashiers are the nicest people ever! They are the sweetest and most attentive workers I’ve ever met by far. I can say it’s best customer service ever!

Quick stop on the way to pick up a board game. Excellent collection. The store is laid out into small interconnected rooms with various stuff in each room. The games and books are all the way to the back. Parking is street parking only and can get crowded.
