I have never been more disappointed with a service in my life than I was with Excellent Cleaners of Mira Mesa. I took my favorite coat here twice, hoping for a simple, professional cleaning, and both times, they completely failed to deliver. In fact, I left each time with my coat in the same, if not worse, condition than when I brought it in.
The first time, I picked up my coat and brought it home only to find that it had hair on it still, which, if you just paid for a cleaning service, should not have been there. It was completely unacceptable for a dry cleaner to return my clothes in that condition. However, everyone makes mistakes, so I decided to give them a second chance, thinking maybe it was a fluke.
Unfortunately, that was a huge mistake. When my husband took the coat back for a recleaning, he explicitly pointed out the issue and asked them to make sure it was cleaned properly this time. But when my husband picked it up again, this time checking it at the store, there was still hair on the coat which appeared to be a mix of human hair and lint. It was clear that they either didn't clean it at all of handled it with zero care and attention. I felt like they weren't even trying to meet basic standards of professionalism.
When my husband had to take time out of his day to return to their business several times, giving them a chance to make it right, he was met with an attitude that was dismissive. Instead of apologizing for the poor service and trying to make things right, the staff became defensive and acted like he was the problem. After much back-and-forth, they begrudgingly gave him a partial refund-- but even that felt like pulling teeth. Given the fact that they had failed twice to clean my coat and returned it to me that way, I expected a full refund without question. But they insisted that they "did their job" and wouldn't refund the entire amount. However, if you did your job, the coat would not have been in that condition and if my requests are "too complicated" for you to do, you could've suggested I go elsewhere from the start instead of accepting my payment and doing an inadequate job.
Before he left, there was a "mutual agreement" that we will not be requesting their services ever again, and (whom I assume to be the owner) stated back that they will be blacklisting, or cancelling our account. I've never experienced such poor service, both in terms of the actual dry cleaning and the customer service. Not only did they fail twice to clean my coat properly, but they were also more interested in dismissing my husband's concerns than resolving them. I should note that my husband has much more patience than me and still was not given a proper apology at any point by any of the employees.
If you value your clothes- and your time and money- avoid Excellent Cleaners of Mira Mesa at all costs. I will never return and would advise anyone else to steer clear. There are plenty of other dry cleaners who will not only do their job correctly the first time around, but also treat their customers with the respect they deserve.

Wasn’t satisfied with a cleaning because there was hair on the inside (which wasn’t there when it was first brought in). Brought it back to have it cleaned again (since it was already paid for) and they said they would clean it again. Picked it up a second time and it’s still in the same (dirty) condition. They tell me that there’s nothing they can do and suggested a different dry cleaning place. They refused to provide a full refund and decided to put a note saying they refuse to provide future service. Will no longer be returning to their store. The quality of service and the way they handle customer support is one of the worst. There was never an apology or explanation and they didn’t ever communicate that it would be difficult to clean (would’ve taken it somewhere else). They have the worst attitude and were completely rude and disrespectful. Wouldn’t suggest ever going here unless you want to pay for a service that won’t be served to you and then have them clap back at you because apparently the customer is always wrong. Save your money and get your clothes cleaned anywhere else.

As an In-N-Out Burger employee, keeping my uniform spotless is a must, and Excellent Cleaners has been a game changer for me! My whites come out brighter than ever, and I never have to worry about stains or dullness. The owner is super friendly and always goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. Plus, the prices are unbeatable! If you want top-notch service without breaking the bank, this is the spot. Highly recommend to anyone who needs their clothes looking their best.

This business is truly excellent! I have been coming here regularly throughout the years; the price is so reasonable, and items are ready for pick-up usually within a day. The staff are also patient and kind. I've never had an issue with dry cleaning items here

Exceeded expectations. This was my first time ever utilizing a dry cleaning service so I did not know what to expect, but my bedding looks great! My dog really loved to rub up on our quilt and it made it so dirty in one spot. I didn’t think it would come out, but it did!!! I will return!!

This was the rudest place I've been to. The prices are so high just to press something. Every person quotes you a different price. So expensive....The owner had the nerve to respond and claim it was my fault that they are inconsistent. I don't have a military uniform and never asked for creases...worst customer service. You as the owner should know that a consistent price is key. Don't put this back on the customer you refused to take my tops.....

I stepped right by the door at 6:59 pm, and the curly haired, toung girl closed the door on me. I told her I drove all the way from Escondido and that it's not even 7 yet. Yes, it became as she argued back and forth telling me its 7. I told her, I'm just here to pick up. She said I closed the computers already but why would you close them before 7pm? If you advertise closing time at 7. Seems like she was ready to run out and didn't care. Customer service with the owner Melvin was so much better here until now. I've been a customer for 8 years even after I moved 35 mins away. This is my last draw to take my business else where due to the lack of customer service here numerous occasions. Great lesson, to never leave your business to some kids who will run it down!

I have been utilizing Excellent Cleaners of Mira Mesa since 2017! I was first introduced to them through my employer located in Sorrento Valley. Pre-pandemic of 2020 they used to do pick ups and drop offs for dry cleaning services at my employer's headquarters. Through the pick up service they gave me my own laundry bag that I still use to this day for any drop offs. I recall when I accidentally had a new 6 pack of Kleenex boxes in the dry cleaning bag in addition to the dirty clothes, and when they returned the clothes back to my workplace dry cleaned the pack of Kleenex boxes were also included safe and sound (lol).Even though my employer has transitioned to remote work I still choose to go to Excellent Cleaners for all my dry clean needs! Thankfully I'm still local as a resident within the UTC area and the small commute to their location is worth it for me.They have cleaned thick comforters, suits, tuxedos, small dresses, gowns, long dresses, blouses, and costumes for me for so many years! More recently I've had a couple of Selkie dresses and skirts cleaned by them as well. They always do a great job. I trust them with all I own! The owner Mel was particularly helpful when my bank/credit card mistakenly double charged me for my most recent visit to Excellent Cleaners. When I realized the banking transaction mistake a few days later via phone Mel was patient and helpful as he looked through their system to confirm that only one transaction was processed. A couple of weeks later my bank said they needed written communication to help them process the dispute of the duplicate charge; and after calling Excellent Cleaners once more for the same issue, Mel was quick to email me exactly what I needed. I am so grateful for Mel's integrity and customer service!I'll be back again soon!

I took my husbands pants that had a huge coffee on its back. They were honest that they can't promise stain removal but they were able to get it out! You couldn't even tell their had Ben a stain before. Service was easy, friendly and a good price

I came here for my blazers to be cleaned from the good review in the internet. The clothes come out straight but really bad odor, like old laundry. They did offer me to re-cleaning it with no charges. But when I came to pick up the second time, the clothes smell even worse. I have to used it since the second pick up is the day I need to attend to the meeting. So I ended with up with those smelly blazer at the meeting. The prize is good and reasonable. But I guess I’m just unlucky :))
