I've been coming here for about a year now for all of my house home and personal care needs. They have everything!! I get my shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion, sunscreen, toothpaste, dish soap, hand soap, Castile soap and more! They make it easy to live a sustainable life style, and it's affordable and reasonably priced. I really enjoy how I get more product for my $ because they weigh the container you bring in for your product and charge per ounce. I highly highly recommend coming here for house hold and personal care needs that are sustainable, natural, and affordable!

You might not be aware of it yet, but you need to visit this place! Bring your own containers, or if you forget them there's a box with free containers people have donated, then you can fill them with amazing high-quality products for hair, skin and home! I love everything about this shop and I'm so glad it's convenient, right smack dab in the middle of Kensington Village, in the Clem's plaza. (btw, they're open during the upstairs building construction!) Apart from the store being a fantastic source to reduce waste and save money on what we need to buy anyway, the owners (Kris & Katrina) are genuinely awesome humans. We all want to support small businesses like this, right? I sure do.

This is a great little store. When I refill my Griffin Remedy shampoo and conditioner I save about $4 per 8oz bottle and not wasting plastic bottles is of course wonderful.

I love what this shop is doing! You would think SD would be more conscientious overall when it comes to environmental practices and sustainability, but they are still far behind. I still recall how mind blown I was when I first moved to the area from the Bay Area in 2006 and recycling still wasn’t provided in many buildings. This establishment is an example of what our community should be doing to keep San Diego prospering for many generations to come. And they have reasonable prices considering the natural ingredients used, which is the cherry on top. Thank you, Earthwell Refill!

Grateful for this shop! I live far but it's worth it to be feeling good about my re-fills & they last me long enough. Plus, there are affordable options which I appreciate.

This is one of my favorite stores here in S.D.I love bringing in my own containers to avoid tossing out endless plastic. I would definitely recommend all the Nellie’s products. Also just picked up the new Mint/Vanilla shampoo and conditioner and it smells amazing.

Earthwell Refill puts the "specialty" into specialty store. They are a family-run business that sells hygenic and household cleaning products that are high-quality, environmentally friendly, and natural. They have their own house brand and they also carry brands that you've heard of, like Dr. Bronner's. Personally, I like Griffin Remedy Scalp Remedy shampoo. Bring your own container to get refilled. They also have some donated containers that you may be able to use. Don't forget about their hand-crafted jewelry, candles, and art. Your house will be clean and non-toxic. You will look and feel better. Mother Earth will be that much better off. Come check it out for yourself.

I'm determined to reduce single-use plastic containers. Earthwell Refill is a great resource that allows me to refill my containers with the products I need for home and skin care. Here is how I use them: For my home: -Dr. Bronner's Sal's Suds: I have refilled my original 32oz bottle at Earlthwell Refill for over a year. I see no reason to ever buy a new bottle. It's concentrated, so with dillution it lasts a long time. I use it as dish soap, and all the things you do with dish soap. It is unscented. -High-acid Vinegar: I refill my 64oz vinegar jug at Earthwell with 10% acid vinegar. This is double strength of regular white vinegar, so it can be diluted and goes twice as far. -Laundry detergent: I continue to refill a container I had from another brand. Earthwell's is concentrated (lot's of loads), and they have an unscented option. For my shower and teeth: -Dr. Bronner's Castile soap: they have all the scents. Again, concentrated so my 32oz. refill goes a long way because you dilute it before use. -Shampoo and Conditioner: They have several choices -Toothpaste tablets (genius!) They have lots more stuff. I have greatly reduced my consumption of products in plastic containers while continuing to be able to use the products I love.

This is our go-to spot for soaps, shampoos & cleaners. We're happy to support a local business ran by some of the friendliest people. Also, the wood-handled toothbrushes they sell are cool!

Lovely little place with so much thought put into the selection and products. Lots of personality and makes the zero waste lifestyle accessible! Very lucky to have this place in our city. Owner was working when we visited and was knowledgeable regarding the ingredients and products. 100% coming back regularly.

I've been sitting on this review for awhile. Thinking about what to say and how to balance my experience and review it accordingly. I was SO excited to find this refill station, because it's so important to minimize waste, especially plastics that proliferate almost everything we buy. So maybe you're wondering what my issue is? It's so, so so so expensive. I'm all for sustainability, trying to work towards it more every day. But at these prices it isn't sustainable for me to come back here again, which is unfortunate, because I would come back every few weeks if it was. A half a large container of laundry Detergent, a 16oz hand soap, 16oz body wash and another 16oz dish soap, cost $68.00. Yes. SIXTY EIGHT DOLLARS. I should have paid more attention to the website, for some reason I thought they also offered refills for basic namebrand household items like "dawn" or "tide" for those of us not yet 100% switched over to this way of living. Instead it's all natural items and brands. Again, I'm all for it... but for people to be on board and be willing to make these adjustments, the prices can't be so high. Maybe if I was only paying one person vs a family, it would be more worth it for me personally. See you again once I make it big okay $
