Love this theater! Small but intimate. Love the conversations I could have after watching a movie here. It's also where they screen films from students in their film programs here as well.

Had a wonderful moviegoing experience here. Conveniently located in downtown, close to public transit. The facility is clean. The sound system, seating and screen are excellent. The staff is friendly with great pricing on food and drinks. It's a great spot for film geeks to catch movies that are not mainstream or just released. Looking forward frequenting this theater.

Adorable little cinema located in a great spot in East Village. I went for the first time to see a screening of Dario Argento's 1975 Deep Red. Their film selection is wonderful and I regret not getting the chance to visit them at their North Park location before it closed down, but I am very grateful they were able to reopen in such a great spot downtown!! I'd recommend keeping an eye on their instagram page and joining their mailing list to get updates on screening announcements. You can also call their phone number to get a recorded list of all their upcoming screening dates and times.I wasn't sure what to expect so I showed up 20 minutes early and had booked my ticket online in advance which I recommend as it is much easier to check in and guarantees you a seat. The theater itself is cute and clean, and seats maybe 60 people at maximum capacity which is why I recommend booking in advance. The actual seats themselves were also comfortable and the theater had a good amount of reserved handicap seating and wide aisles and ramps. You can lean back to recline the seats and also move the arm rests (which have drink holders) up and down. I was impressed with the sound quality for it being located in a quasi-capsule on the second story of the large, echoey UCSD Park & Market building. There was a jazz ensemble performing on the first floor during the screening that could be veeeeery faintly heard during very quiet parts of the film but I feel that it added to the ambiance of the theater. Everything started very promptly and efficiently as well.Getting there was also straightforward. It is located right by the Park & Market trolley/bus stop, and is a few blocks south of the Park & Broadway trolley/bust stop near the City College campus. By car, you can access the theater via the garage and take the elevator to the second floor. When I was there, the attendant was very helpful and showed me how to access the building by foot because I admittedly was a bit lost at first which was my fault. On foot, you enter through the main glass doors on Market and head up the spiral staircase to the right, or use the elevators (which I did not use on my first trip). The stairs were a bit odd to navigate as they started out wide and low but then got progressively more shallow and narrow as I got to the top, so I recommend taking the elevator if that is an issue for you. There is a great view at the top that I recommend checking out if you arrive early to your screening. The service at concessions was great and prices were reasonable and the selection of beverages and snacks was pretty good. I believe members get some discounts on tickets and concessions which is nice. There was a small gallery at the top of the stairs overlooking streets Park and Market and the concessions is located a bit behind the top of the stairs to the left. There is also a bar as well as a small restaurant located on the first floor if you are interested in arriving early or lingering a bit afterwards, but alcoholic beverages purchased at concession must be consumed before you go downstairs.I've already booked tickets for a few more screenings this month and am excited to return. I'm hoping to become a member soon as well!

Great new space for this awesome organization!Super excited to visit and for the availability of parking!Saw Tar here tonight. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the seats are very comfy - not the "Easy chairs" you'll find at more expensive theaters, but they rock and the theatre is intimate just like the previous space. Great t8me tonight!
