I attended Mystique Dining the other night with a girlfriend for Derek's magic show, and let me tell you, it was off the charts! Derek had us all glued to our seats and laughing with his mind-blowing and comical performance.From making stuff vanish into thin air to blowing our minds with magic, Derek had the whole crowds attention. And get this – he even got us involved in the action! It had me in awe and laughing so much, all at the same time. He’s very charming, too!The vibe at Mystique Dining was on point too. Derek is a true, talented professional. My company engaged him for an employee awards dinner and our attendees couldn't have been more thrilled with the experience. We hired Derek for our cocktail hour at our wedding on 7/22/23 and we could not have been happier! He is truly THE BEST! Not only did he absolutely blow our guests minds with his close up magic, but we made sure to have all of our pics done before the ceremony so we could also see Derek perform...and we were not disappointed. I wish I had gotten a photo of our photographer as she was walking around and her mouth completely dropped when she watched him work his way around the tables ;) I can't wait to get our photos back.We had been on the fence whether or not we could make it work, and I'm beyond thrilled that we were able to hire Derek. And I want to thank all the fabulous reviewers on here who helped us make the decision easy because we had not seen Derek perform prior to hiring him so you just never know...but we were confident we had made the right decision just based on his prior reviews. If you want to hire a magician for close up magic at your event, I could not recommend Derek more enthusiastically. It will be one of the BEST DECISIONS you make!He was also incredibly easy to communicate with before the event, and such a wonderfully kind individual.Our wedding would not have been the same without you Derek, and we will all be talking about it for years to come. Derek was doing a walkabout show at Purgatory Lounge (Full Metal Burgers & Black Plague Brewery) in Escondido. He was fantastic! The 'magic' was unbelievably good. He was personable, funny, professional and has a real talent for his craft. "Shuffling" the cards is an insult to the way he makes the cards dance. Very skilled. would go back to see him any time.

Derek was amazing! Highly recommend. We hosted a holiday party and wanted to include his magic in an organic way. We made it seem like he was just an old friend, and then he surprised our guests with mind blowing magic tricks (they eventually figured out he was a professional). He played the roll perfectly and was a memorable part of our party!
