Regarding Costco Mission Valley California Warehouse # 488
I have the privelege of being both a Costco loyal member, and a Vendor having served as Brand Ambassador for Honey Smoked Fish Company (HSFC) in Costco warehouses around the nation. I feel that I am very qualifed to give warehouse # 488 a 5☆ rating, 6 ☆s if that was possible.
I recently worked in this warehouse for 3 days from before opening, until after closing. The Costco & CDS (Sample Sales Advisors) deserve impeccable praise for their hard work and dedication, no doubt. Before the doors open through the night, until opening, they work feverishly to make sure that the store is spotless and very accommodating for its members, some 5000 - 6000+ a day. This is not an easy job. Let's be honest, the majority of members are kind. But some (a few) and their kids can be quite inconsiderate. Nonetheless, this store's personnel work diligently on forklifts (women included) with blooms, mops, superior merchandising, and high quality food-safe samples to please all members.
Members are given the benefit of the doubt on returns and alleged member services issues, even when it appears some may not deserve it.
When the store is closed, they play their music genre of choice and work in harmony to please their members. Having visited and worked in many Costco locations, I find this team most outstanding. They do this leaving with aching backs, feet, and tired, but glady return to repeat this rigorous circle the next day.
Warehouse # 488 deserves 6 ☆'s for its team's dedication to satisfying its members, even with current cooler repairs, renovation, and re- merchandising putting additional stress on everyone.
Give them 'their flowers' they deserve it.
Notable personnel to mention
• The CDS team, led by Event Manager Javier and assisted by Manager Jay, CDS Sales Advisors, Supervisors, and Breakers for their exceptional performance: Gabriele, Ana, Marianna, Leiko, Rosemary, Sophia, Juana, Blanca, Carrie, Eman, and anyone I may have overlooked.
• The warehouse Management Team, Jessie, Adam, Brian, Gary, and Zack
• The receiving team and floor staff Nathan, David, and others.
HSFC sold out most of its products at warehouse # 488, and members were excited to be there.
That's all because of warehouse # 488's superior team.

Busy place, but they have most items available weekly.
Lines for gas suck. Usually go to Fletcher Parkway or Morena blvd. Costco for gas.

I just have to say to those who complain about having to show their membership cards numerous times while shopping to various employees… by the way, they are doing their jobs exactly as they are asked to do TO HELP KEEP NOT ONLY COSTS DOWN, but to insure YOU, the member that they are looking out for you.
The REASON WHY ALL THE CHECKS…
IT’S BECAUSE TOO MANY DISHONEST CONSUMERS ARE TRYING TO CHEAT THE COSTCO SYSTEM BY EITHER ALLOWING NON MEMBERS (friends & family) TO USE THEIR CARD. Remember when you signed up for membership, there’s clear rules specified. SECONDLY there are thieves, yes thieves who are members who try to use SELF CHECK OUT who not only allow others to use their cards whether they themselves are with or without the person AND FAIL TO SCAN ALL PURCHASES… “5 finger discount”. YES, I as a Costco member have seen this theft trying to be pulled several times. SECURITY CAMERAS ARE THERE FOR A PURPOSE… they are being monitored that alert store security & management to try to stop this theft.
And you wonder why the price of everything everywhere in our economy is high… DON’T BLAME IT ON THE GOVERNMENT… BLAME THE INFLATION ON THIEVES LIKE THIS WHO FORCE THE BUSINESSES TO INCREASE COSTS TO MAKE UP FOR THEIR BIG LOSSES.
Instead of getting upset at Employees..
Get upset at the cheating fellow members.
Keep up the great work Costco!

Would give zero star if I could. Ms Paulina at the self checkout line on 7/9/24 really disappointed us with her attitude.
Expected us to know we were supposed to wait 9 feet away from the cashier so she could examine our membership card while she’s apparently too busy to do her job cause she’s chatting with others in the corner.

The lady at the membership desk really disappointed us. She couldn’t differentiate the plans, she was confused on the plan names, and due to that, another lady stepped in to try to upsell us and critiqued us for shopping at other places other than Costco. Both of us grew up going to Costco, we know what they offer and hence that’s why we decided to go in and purchase our own membership. She acted like we knew nothing and it was annoying. We were 100% certain we didn’t want the more expensive membership but she would not stop talking about it or trying to convince us to upgrade. I got so irritated I just stopped listening.
The lady who was completing our membership for 30 mins seemed to have no awareness on her slow working speed and was confused on simple tasks of her job. Her badge said she’d been working there since 2023 so that confused me a little bit. The cherry on the cake was receiving my card after all that, to find my name was misspelled on it. She had my ID right in front of her while she was inputting the information. I’m sorry but that’s inexcusable, I think she should consider another job where attention to detail isn’t required.
