Walls are paper thin. Have been listening to a poor family try to calm down a screaming toddler for 30 min like we’re in the room with them. Worse than a motel 6. Dirty bathroom. Old elevators that are very loud. Do not stay here.

Hotel is not bad, the only downside is the Valet guys. Absolute viscous people.

Overall a really great hotel. A couple of minor drawbacks but would highly recommend and will definitely return.
Positives: Beautiful BIG modern rooms with balconies. Lots of storage. If you get a high floor room you’ll have beautiful views. They have an electric kettle in the room which I loved. Nespresso machine in room as well. 5 minute walk to a street with a ton of local restaurants and kayak rental shops. 10 minute walk to beach. Has a nice restaurant and bar on the rooftop. They have bikes to rent. Front desk employees were helpful and efficient. The lobby and outside are beautiful, especially at night. Didn’t have any issues finding a parking spot despite hotel being busy.
Neutral: The traffic can be horrible around the hotel, so if you are driving be prepared to be in bumper to bumper traffic at times. Hotel can’t do anything about it so it’s not really a drawback, just an FYI.
Negatives: AC worked but wasn’t very cold. It wasn’t too hot but would have liked a cooler room. Keeping the patio door open at night was nice.

You truly cannot beat the location of the Hotel La Jolla - with a 5 minute walk to a gorgeous public beach, restaurants, and shops. Each room faces the ocean, and the higher floors are rewarded with an amazing view. Rooms have recently been redone and are modern and chic. I've had the opportunity to stay a few times and will continue to when I travel to La Jolla!

Hotel staff was great when asked. Housekeeping was a bit tight in giving out water. The doors of the unit were harder to use and on the old side. The building itself is located just between the Cove and Shores. Perfect location

I ended up being overcharged by $90, and the staff was unprofessional about it. I observed other guests being overcharged as well. We booked a package with breakfast included for two, but it wasn’t fully included. The provision was $22 per person per day, which doesn’t cover breakfast for two. Additionally, I wasn’t informed that the credit system works on a daily basis rather than for the entire stay. Although my wife and I checked in together, only one person was registered with the room and received the allocation. This seems like a shady business practice and serious penny-pinching by Hilton. They also lack transparency about how the resort fee works and how it can be redeemed at the restaurant. When I rightfully questioned the excess charges, the staff gave me dirty looks. I was given a paper with numerous unclear charges, seemingly to confuse me. After doing the math in my head, the charges didn’t add up. None of the staff appeared to have proper hospitality training. This was my third stay at this place, and it will be my last. Despite the renovations, it’s not worth it. The breakfast quality was poor; we ordered granola that mentioned banana, but we were served random fruits instead. When we pointed this out, the waiter unprofessionally said they didn’t have bananas that day, without informing us when we ordered. To top it all off, self-parking costs $39 per night, with no staff to help with luggage. You can park 100 feet from the hotel on the street for free; it’s La Jolla, not downtown. Terrible experience, and I will never stay at a Hilton again.

Wonderful stay for 3 nights at Hotel La Jolla. Centrally located, but a car is best (La Jolla village is 8 min away). Jasmin at the front desk went the extra mile for us, and it was truly appreciated.
thank you!

Great spot for a weekend away in La Jolla. A recent renovation updated this hotel in all the right ways! Walking distance to the beach and slightly further into downtown La Jolla. Nice outdoor bar with good am ambiance, good breakfast on offer each morning.
Rooms: Updated rooms all have ocean view, ask for a high floor! Extremely comfortable king bed!
Walkability: Beach is less than 10 mins, downtown La Jolla is perhaps 20 mins.
Food & drinks: Great little bar for drinks at the end of the day, and a good breakfast menu on-site. The soon-to-be opened rooftop bar and function rooms will be incredible!
