I had a billing issue, and I was pleasantly surprised by how efficiently Care First Healthplan resolved it. Their billing department was proactive, and the matter was resolved promptly, with no additional stress on my end.

The staff at Care First Healthplan were very helpful and provided me with excellent customer service. They were patient in addressing all of my questions and concerns and provided me with several health insurance options that met my specific needs. I appreciated their attention to detail and their willingness to go the extra mile to help me find the right coverage.

I've had Care First Healthplan for several years now and it has been a lifesaver! Without it, I would not have been able to afford the surgeries and treatments I needed to manage my chronic health condition. My insurance plan has also helped me stay on top of my preventative care and catch any health issues early on. I am extremely grateful for the peace of mind that comes with having quality health insurance. Thanks

My family and I have helped a few groups and families to have protection and have a legit specialist help them through the whole cycle. You can't turn out badly with First Healthplan. The agent is great. I love this company.

Absolute garbage company. Called numerous times to have a simple issue solved. Spent hours in total in the phone with these people. They still can't solve my problem. (All I need is a reimbursement for a script) They also can't seem to process a prior authorization from my Doctor's office. My doctor has had it with them too. Absolutely incompetent s*** company. I have blue cross blue shield insurance which is apparently linked with Care First. They are a disgrace. Literally the most worthless and unhelpful company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. 0 stars.

Are you kidding me??!!! My Sister has to go to the hospital for surgery this morning by 7:30am we called 3 days in advance to schedule a ambulance with gurney to pick her up. We told them she is bed bound and needs a Gurney to pick her up between 630 and 7 AM. One guy shows up with a wheelchair only Van. We called three times in the past three days to confirm the pickup and details of it. All three times it was confirmed. Now she has no ride and her surgery will have to be changed.

I am pregnant and there are hardly any obgyn's that accept them. Also, they said I needed a referral from my primary to go to an OB. Absolutely ridiculous. I ended up switching, but the OB i choses advice, to switch to Community Health Group. They don't require referrals for silly stuff like being pregnant and they are the best.

If I could give a zero, I would. Heck, if I could give -10, I'd do it and not even blink! My mother got a bill, the second one, from her oxygen supply company. This is a bill Medi-Cal has covered for years. After failing to get answers from her medical supply company--Another sweet honey.--I contacted Care1st to see if the bill had been submitted to them. Everything went okay until the service rep on the phone insisted on speaking to my mother personally. My mother is deaf and, while not diagnosed with Dementia, she is 86 years old and very, very easily confused. For these reasons, I have been handling these matters for her for years. When I told the rep this, he still insisted that he had to speak to her personally. So, knowing this was a Very Bad Idea, I woke her up--She had been napping. She's 86. That's what she does.--explained as best I could to a confused deaf 86-year old just awakened from a nap that the rep wanted permission to talk to me. From her end of the conversation, he didn't merely want permission for me to speak for her, he wanted confirmation of our phone number and address. She doesn't know these things! When I took the phone back, the line was dead. My mother was in a tizzy for a half-hour afterwards, terrified they were going to take her oxygen away from her or send her to a home. I called again, when everything had calmed down, and got their answering service. I was actually able to give her the information about the problem. Unfortunately, she also said somebody would call today to confirm the information. I can hardly wait! /s Note added later--Nobody ever called. This is probably because I gave the needed insurance information to the oxygen supplier so now they're wrassling it out between them. But I wouldn't be surprised if they just forgot, or didn't care.

So disappointed to see such incompetent medial practices especially in CA, I thought we were advanced and ahead of everyone, smh. CareFirst makes you believe you're getting great coverage, they promise to deliver you the moon if you sign up with them. Didn't ask for a Moon, but a simple medication that they made so difficult to obtain because they want the doctor to fax authorization letter, which they had been claiming for over a week they did not receive. Doctor herself was on the phone with them and me on a 3 way call and took care of everything, later to just find out that the dragging, back and forth will just never end. How is it possible with so many adults involved in 1 situation, and not just adults but educated ones such as doctors, and nobody can figure out where the fax is going, why it is not being received after continuously sending it for over 10 days. If people that we hand our health and lives to cannot figure out a simple fax thing, what happens to us who are ill and have serious conditions we have to deal with? How can you have faith in competency and intelligence of those people after 10 days of running around with their stupid faxes they still claim they did not receive anything. I have been out of medication for 10 days and nobody cares, I am so disgusted by this company and everybody else who was involved in this simple matter that I'm sure all these adults deal with all the time, I couldn't take this emotional abuse anymore and I borrowed money today to pay for my medication. On top of that it's a hormonal medication, so imagine you being on hormones and they make you go through all this stress and pain, is it intentionally down so that way so it will help us die quicker? Shame on all of you! You should be embarrassed of yourself to even work for this company, is it because nobody else wanted to hire you? It's worse then dealing with a brick wall, nobody knows what they are doing, they are so d*** that even the notes they take every time you call them, they believe it will help them solve an issue and understand the situation, now imagine if even those notes cannot enlighten the employees at this establishment ! But what can we all do other than being dependent on them? I have nowhere else to go and I have a serious condition, so what am I suppose to do, just go kill myself? Is that what they are driving me to do so knowing I'm on hormones and emotionally abuse me for weeks can brake anyone down.
