I had been going to the other bike collective in north park but one of the volunteers there is dismissive and condescending.

Bikes del Peublo is such an amazing place. They accept donated bikes and help people get a bicycle at an affordable price. They also educate people on maintenance. It's all run by volunteers, and it's places like this that make SD so awesome. It's so cool to see a place like this exist and really help the community. A huge thank you to Bikes del Pueblo!

This isn't a co-op seems to be some sort of program where you can work on a bike with guidance from volunteers. Don't expect to be able to find parts or be able to build your bike, they will just try to dupe you into going home with whatever they have already built.

Went there onSunday ,immediately the Caucasian Guy with Glasses verbally attacks me for going in shed/dumpster because I was looking at ALL item Again DONATED to program, he stated that she'd was broken into day before, again keep addressing me that it was broken into , I guess because I'm from Mexican Decent that All Mexicans STEAL! I just asked him to get me some brakes , he said he would then again stated the opposite and stated I need my bike to purchase? I refused and explained to him A) this isn't your Foundation! B) you don't own anything in here again it's DONATED! He felt he had some Power over me on who he will consider Selling again DONATED Items To ! I then asked who's manager? Some Guy that looked Extremely Hungover Smoking Cigarettes stated he's Owner , I confronted him if he was intoxicated snd has he heard of something called a Shower! Looked like a Homeless Bum ! Anyways a Complete Waste of Time ! These individuals I understand are Volunteers but I feel it's a Hustle and they want to keep thing going the way they feel can do ! There is No License for this venue also again Selling DONATED Items ! So if You're from a Mexican Decent? YourNOT Welcome! Pretty Stupid due to address 4050 El Cajon Blvd is in the center of Mexican Resistance! I feel they will take this extremely Offensive! And you wonder why you've been Broken into ??? KARMA!!!!

COVID review: Their COVID hours are Sundays 10am-3pm (weather permitting). Check out their Instagram account (@bikesdelpueblo) for up-to-date information. Bikes Del Pueblo is a very valuable community resource. They are a non-profit bike collective dedicated to helping the general public with basic bicycle repair and maintenance. They also organize group rides and sell used bikes and bike parts. They accept donated items including bikes, bike equipment, and gardening equipment. They take cash donations via PayPal. They are volunteer-run and accept help regardless of skill level. I was given inaccurate information so I showed up late today. Fortunately, the guys were still there and Mike agreed to take a look at my bike. My sprockets were a bit dirty and my chain was dry. He had me clean the sprockets and he lubed the chain and filled the tires. Good as new! I know where I'm going the next time I need a maintenance check. I promise not to be late next time. Thanks, Mike and BdP!
