Amazingly poor customer service. My wife wrote a check for $175 from her personal Bank of America checking account, payable to our housekeeper's business (DBA) name. The housekeeper's business checking account is also at Bank of America, and has been open for several years. The housekeeper went to the Bank of America Financial Center at 3852 National Avenue in San Diego on Tuesday, September 5 to cash the check. She endorsed the check and properly identified herself, but the National Avenue office refused to cash the check. The staff gave only a vague explanation for their behavior, and kept the housekeeper waiting for a long time. Finally she decided to leave; but the Bank of America staff refused to return the uncashed check to her.My wife and I tried calling the office this morning, but the phone did not get answered. We then called my wife's home branch (Coronado, CA) and got hold of someone who said she would escalate the matter to her branch manager and get back to us later the same day (today.) But we have not heard back from the Coronado office, and have heard nothing from the National Avenue office. The situation now from our perspective is that there is a live, endorsed check for $175 at some unknown location, and nobody has told us what is going on.Obviously the National Avenue office should have returned the check to our housekeeper if they were uncomfortable cashing it, or contacted my wife, or called the police if they seriously suspected there was fraudulent activity going on.Our housekeeper has still not been paid the $175 to which she is entitled, and we are not comfortable writing her another check until the missing one is resolved.By the way, the check written on my wife's account immediately before the missing item was for the same amount and the same payee. A savings branch office in Chula Vista cashed that for our housekeeper without hesitation.

On September 11th, we went to this location for a wire transfer. The person who helped us had time to tell us why she couldn't help us that we needed an appointment she jump on her computer and looked for other banks that had appointment available she book me at north park. But she wasted all this time about 20 minutes to tell me she wasn't helping me when she could easily do my wire transfer and be done. I'm a long-time customer and have my business account with the bank, but after covid, they just got lazy, unprofessional people to work for them.

This review is from 28 days ago but I had put it for a different location so I wanted to make sure it was under correct location Came in yesterday to deposit a check into someone else's acct. I was helped or let me say Valarye handled my transaction. She wasn't much help at all. From moment I approached her window she seemed skeptical of my transaction. She made me go get my ID saying I needed it otherwise check I was depositing would be placed on hold. If ID are required I wasn't asked for yesterday when she helped me again, plus Not sure how my ID would prevent check from being "placed on hold" but ok. I've sent my daughter in numerous times to make that deposit and it's never been a problem. Meaning she wasn't asked for ID and even if they did it wouldn't match name on my check. I go get it, come back in and she made me "alter" my check. She told me cross name I put, which I been filing it out like that for over 8yrs now, and put another name. After that she continued staring at it, looking looking for something else. If the tellers aren't clearly trained and if you don't know what you're doing, just say that. Don't try and make me feel like I'm doing something sketchy. That is not a way to conduct business!!! I'll continue to come in here with my head held high because I'm doing nothing wrong!

There's always long lines at this bank. The ATM are usually being fix and when there are they don't put on the screen that there out of service, so people put in their card and It drops to the inside of the ATM and they can't retrieve your card afterwards and they say to order a new one. This place needs better management!!!Workers are rude and slow.

They close earlier than what the hours say listed on Google, and declined to open their doors on a Saturday ( when clearly the hours of operation says it's open, and you see bank employees acting like they're busy. ) I hope they get hold accountable because this should be illegal. It's false advertising. I hope other financial institutions see this and replace everyone in there who don't want to help the community.

The only good thing about this branch is how close it is to my job. However, the little staff I see on any given day/time of the week is very lazy. The line could be all the way around towards the back offices, and tellers still work as slowly as possible. Mind you there are a max of 2 tellers. But 80% of the time, there's only one. And she has no care for people waiting longer than acceptable. People walk in and out of the back, sit in their office, but no one seems to be able to do the basic teller job. God forbid an employee hopped on to help the line move faster. You could be there over an hour with just 8 people in front of you. I know because I've been through it several times. Then there's the idiot walking around with the iPad asking what you're in there for in hopes he can assist you, but really just passing time. People could be upset, sometimes yelling across the building out of anger and this dude just walks away or ignores the frustration the staff creates. Oh and not to mention you can only do 1 transaction at the teller. So choose wisely because they won't let you deposit/cash out/transfer on the same turn. You'll have time in line to think about it anyway. I could go on forever. Just avoid this branch. I much rather waste expensive gas and drive down to CV or Bonita instead.
