Colette is an amazing Physical Therapist and I feel lucky to have found her. My shoulder and neck had been bothering me for awhile especially after playing tennis. I went to an orthopedic doctor who had me get X-rays and an MRI. After reviewing the images, the doctor told me he could give me an injection for the pain or perform minor surgery for my shoulder. I decided to try physical therapy first and I’m glad I did. I worked with Colette for 7 weeks and my shoulder and neck pain are basically resolved. I am able to continue to play tennis without issue or flare ups. I completed therapy 3 months ago and my shoulder and neck haven’t acted up. Colette works directly with you the entire session in a hands on manner which is rare these days. Her knowledge and skill get results. I highly recommend her.

I am an ice skater and during a class I sprained my ankle. I was told it would take 3 days but by 2 weeks it was not better, and I had a big dance performance coming up. I was devastated till I found Back In Action. Not only did they find the problem in a matter of minutes but they got me able to perform my dance in a matter of a week. Not only that but in only a month I went from not being able to move my foot at all to being able to practice jumps once again, so thing that brings me a lot of joy. If you ever need someone to help with any injury I would 100% recommend Back In Action, they understand your concerns, solve the problem quickly, and if you are an athlete you might end up performing better than ever.

I have had knee injuries since I was a teen. I am now in my 40's and developed arthritis and was very limited in my activities. My ortho surgeon was thinking I would need surgery. Enter Colette- I have seen many physical therapists in my life no one has been as knowledgeable and helpful as Colette. I am a physician and I want to say Colette is truly a healer. She knows the body and was able to correct overall functional problems that I had with posture, Walking, etc. She is very caring and practical. She works on you one to one the whole time.I am now back to doing the things I love. My goal was to be pain free to be able to go for walks. I am now back to dancing!

Colette at Back in Action does exactly what the name promises: gets you back in action. I had a problem with my foot that was preventing me from running. After one session my pain was gone and she quickly developed a program of simple exercises to build me back to better than I was before. One of the best things about Colette is that she doesn't push her service and was ready to stop my visits once I was well. I have been to PT's that want to string you along as long as possible, especially if your insurance is paying. I highly recommend Colette & Back in Action!

Back in action is the greatest! I've been doing physical therapy for my neck and back for many years and this is the first time I haven't felt awkward and annoyed every time I have to go. The office is small and cozy and you don't have to deal with a front desk or "exercise specialists". You just deal with the physical therapist directly and get personal attention. I had a crazy bad herniated disc last year and after surgery I ended up in the ER because the pain was excruciating. After doing PT for a few weeks I could already see a significant difference. Every time I go I my back and neck feel way better and I've been able to go back to living my life. I can work, pick up my daughter and do stuff around the house. Back in action has changed my life!

Colette saved me from having to get knee/meniscus surgery. For years I have played squash and practiced yoga but always felt achy. My knee just changed one day and I discovered I couldn't bend my leg and had a fluid-filled cyst outside my knee and lots of pain. She showed me that I literally had no vastus medialis (VMO) muscle. I spent the next six months working to build that muscle along with my glute muscles. I followed Colette's exercise regime. After many months I got back on the squash court, hit by myself for three weeks, and then started playing games again...then matches again. I am now playing three times a week without pain whereas for years I could only play twice a week due to tight quads and IT band. Everyone told me I would need surgery as my meniscus was torn on both the medial and lateral sides. I feel great and am playing at a higher level of squash now. Thank you, Colette!

I was recommended about Colette when I twisted my neck and I could hardly turn it. After one visit on Friday I felt the difference and found it easier to drive on the way home. She also showed me simple exercises I can do it at home by myself over the weekend, and also gave me a few tricks for relieving pain. When I went back on Monday, I was pretty much back to normal! Subtle/gentle massage and precise guidance helped me to heal quickly. I will return if I have a trouble again! Highly recommended :-)

I recently visited Back In Action PT because of some intense neck pain and stiffness I had been experiencing for over 6 months. Various other practitioners and modalities had failed to help. Colette outlined some changes in my daily activities and gave me some simple exercises to do. She also explained that most of the rotation of the neck comes from the top two vertebrae while most of the flexion and extension come from the middle and lower cervical vertebrae. Armed with this new information I could see that I was not actually doing stretches that targeted the areas of my stiffness and discomfort. So I modified my stretching regimen and Colette performed some manipulations to loosen things up in my neck and within a week or two I was already much improved. Very pleased with my progress.

Colette Seymann, principal of "Back in Action" Physical Therapy is truly exceptional. I am a seasoned neuroscientist who, as an avid past-athlete and cyclist (including mountain biking) has suffered numerous orthopedic injuries, often requiring surgery and post-op PT. Over the past decades, I consequently have been exposed to many different PT facilities and therapeutic approaches, as far away as NY and Boston and as close as Orange county and San Diego. While all PT facilities are generally able to do "some good", they are clearly not all equal. This one ranks at the top! Most recently, I fractured a finger in my dominant hand, while suffering serious injury to the other fingers, hand muscles and wrist. Several, weeks of PT (at another San Diego facility) provided some- but clearly incomplete- return of function. The surgeon could do not more for me and the PT I received was incomplete and therefore disappointing. I got another script for additional PT sessions, searched the internet and was lucky to find and choose 'Back in Action'. Ms. Seymann was able to diagnose problems others missed and implement a treatment program that was efficient and effective. Not only have I regained function lost from the most accident, but have even seen improvement from injuries that happened long ago and had been told there was nothing that could be done. The insight, experience and care that Ms Seymann brings to the problem is clearly far superior to that available at almost any other facility. You cannot do wrong by giving her a shot at helping you!
