I've been going to Popov for over a decade. He's worked on everything from my BMW, my Suburban, my wife's Acura, and all of my friends cars. He'll tell you he specializes in European cars like BMW, Mercedes, and Audi, but let me tell you, this mechanical genius can work on anything.Quick story. I pulled in with my 06 Suburban a couple years back. There was a weird noise coming from under the hood. Truck ran fine, and I knew all the things it wasn't. The engine was fine. (Recently replaced) So I pull up, tell Popov none of this. He listens to the truck for 10 seconds and declares its a sensor. Gives me a price and tells me how long. All said and done it was under a minute.And sure enough, he was right. I've met a lot of mechanics in my life. Few are honest, even fewer are genuinely gifted. Popov has my respect, and my business with all my vehicles for as long as he keeps running.

I came here because there were good reviews and my car broke down after recently being in a car accident. As soon as I told him I couldn't afford the $800 for just looking and getting my car started and had to take my car else where he yelled at me and bullied me into leaving my car there. I told him I had to wait until Friday. When I found a place that wouldn't cause me to become homeless he continued to become super aggressive and tried to force me to pay $400 just to get my car back. Once I found out he wasn't allowed to do that. He then sent me a text message saying I had to pick up my car other wise it would be towed if I kept it over night. When I told him earlier I would be able to get a tow there tomorrow morning and when I was panicking trying to pay him on Friday or when I was standing up for myself when I called him back he never brought up the issue of my car staying in his parking lot before. If you want to get bullied, yelled at, when your already in a low place and want to be treated like a decent human being. Go else where. Way to be mean and kick a person where they are already down and your telling him your you just got out of being homeless and on the verge of being homeless again trying to pull a fast one on a vulnerable young woman.If it wasn't for a second opinion, he would've bled me dry and then some. Again he made all that up, and I ended up not even having any obligation to pay. He had no right. And he tried scam me out of everything and didn't even bat an eye and had the nerve to keep making things harder and worse for me.I just started working for a Non- Profit that helps people with Mental Illness rehabilitate from the streets back into homes. Its people like him is why there are so many people dying of gun violence and it hasn't even been the end of January, and America is declining. People like him acting like a crook to unknowing customers. NO humanity. No heart, No soul.

Mr. Popov is not just a mechanic, but he is an Engineer and consumate perfectionist when it comes to fixing cars. I have come to him for transmission work on my 2015 Subaru and now Turbo calibration and wastegate actuator replacement on my 2016 Audi A6. He repaired both to perfection and did it for a reasonable price. He may not be the cheapest, but he is the best. At least in the Allied Gardens / Mission Valley area. If you have a problem with your car that others are having a hard time diagnosing, take it to Popov. I bet you he can figure it out. Good Luck!JacobServices: Vehicle Inspection

Popov has been my mechanic for the last 6 years! I recommend him to anyone. Having a Mercedes and seeing the engine light go on or scheduled maintenance come up I cringed but popov has always given me a good rate, easy in and out amd always has my car in tip top shape!

Popov is an extremely knowledgable mechanic, and he will spend the time with you to not only tell you exactly what is wrong with your vehicle, but show you as well, and what needs to be done. He is friendly, not pushy, and very reasonable on repair costs. An all-around good guy. I would trust him 100% with my vehicles, or anyone I referred to him. 5 stars? Make it 10!
