I’ve been waiting outside of ampm since 1:50 AM it is now 3am and she just now put a sign on the door saying she will be close an additional 30 minutes until 3:30 AM is the fat Mexican girl with the big Coke bottle glasses,you know the one that looks like the ampm monster mascot? Yeah, that girl she needs to be fired.

This place is a hit or miss. Some employees here are great with great customer service... I've been coming here for a while since they're "24/7" service if you want to come for a great price of gas or just a mid night snack..... I usually come in early mornings from 2am-4am and I've noticed a pattern of this specific white guy employee who closes for his entire shift and ignores us at the door and avoids eye contact. If this am/pm isn't 24/7 please update it. Other employees always keep to their hours of being 24/7 no matter the time but this one specific employee always closes the door as says "he will return by 4:30am" other than that I always come for their amazing horchata and warm cookies.

I've been a regular for a couple of months in the early mornings. Great customer service FROM MOST of the employees EXCEPT for one employee - in the early morning (5am) for the white guy with long hair and a beard. He's incompetent, and rude and shouldn't be working in customer service, ESPECIALLY that he's handling cash!!! FIRE this guy, AMPM!PLEASE check your cameras here. His behavior is obvious and rude and concerning!!! I'll probably go to 7-Eleven if I see him. It's just down by the next light. By the freeway. He's got an unpleasant /unfriendly attitude and the two times I've handed him cash in recent weeks, he's closed the register or entered the amount as I'm STILL grabbing coins from my pocket. I don't know any mind readers, but he seems to think he reads minds and knows how much I'm giving AND ALREADY entered it in the register. He's failed in giving me the correct change BOTH times. The first time, he gave me attitude like it was my fault that he didn't give the other dollar bills in owed change to me before he closed the drawer and he had me wait for the next paying cash customer.. no apology or acknowledgement of his error. A lady eventually paid with cash. Lucky me, I wasn't in a rush and that it was a few minutes as most people use cards! This morning 1/18/23 just after 5am, I gave him a $5 bill and a quarter (coin) for a $2.19 coffee (that's $2.81 change back IF I only gave a $5 BTW) and he gave me $2 and (with attitude like I said) he said, " [you owe] $0.81 [and the quarter is not enough]" as in "$2.81" as he took my quarter which would be my change IF I only gave a $5, but I wanted $3 and simpler change of 6 cents as balanced from my quarter. I told him that's how much (81 cents) change it would be for a $5 bill that he should give me back.. as it cost $2.18... Not $2.81.. BUT I didn't just give him $5... So his attitude was misplaced from HIS error. Is it too early to work for him? Is it that he's been partying late and doesn't like his early morning shift and taking it out on the customers?!? " It just takes one apple to ruin the bunch" , as the saying goes.. There are other AMPM locations as a nearby 7-Eleven... But how many customers will he drive away and cost this store repeat customers?!? I like the other employees and they are but maybe this AMPM isn't worth it because of this employee. So, he ONLY inputted $5 and NOT the correct amount of $5.25, which would be his 2nd failure in those mere seconds... The third failure he did was to grab randomly 3 quarters thinking he was doing me a favor that I got $2.75 as change back... Instead of my $3.06 and he immediately walked directly away to the back... Interaction over. WHAT THE HELL ?!?! CHECK OUT THE SECURITY FOOTAGE. How regularly is he mishandling cash transactions?!? This is a terrible reflection on the AMPM $the owner/operator. GUARANTEED - the register isn't balancing out during his shifts! Has he not worked this job (at the register) enough to know how much a coffee and the usual change is?!? Every employee I currently interact with does. Circle K is my other go to spot, and I and I just may go out of my way to get my food and drinks there from now on. (They're awesome at Circle K and I've talked with everyone in the early morning shift and they're super nice. They're off Broadway / National City Blvd, BTW. We've I've gone out of my way to get to this location compared to the other Circle Ks). It's annoying dealing with this incompetence of this AMPM employee. This is elementary grade calculations and MOST experienced cashiers I've dealt with over the past 30+ years can adjust with mental calculations on the fly if they entered something incorrectly. Due to my nocturnal shenanigans, I frequent un chingo de ampm/Arcos - (un chingo = a shitload for you all you fine weras out there) - since they're usually the only place open. And I've ALWAYS been at LEAST mildly impressed with the overall vibe of the store...including but not limited to the cleanliness of the store, the selection of toxic but delicious energy drinks, and the attitude/customer service of the poor b****** that has to work the overnight shift at a gas station (been there, done that and believe you me, I'd rather watch a cat eat it's own s*** for 8 hours.) However this time I was anything but impressed. The store floor was Filthy, and the two ladies there barely Spoke English and had the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I shrugged it off, thinking maybe their draws were too tight or bunched up and proceeded to attempt to buy my 3 monsters. The fridge advertised a deal; 3 monsters for $6. They didn't ring up that way at the register, and the lady didn't try to fix it at all. She was just like "you pay this price ($10+) or get out" So I left the cans on the counter and gtfo. I went to a nearby 711 and had a much better experience.

I had to literally beg these two women for air. They told me I needed to purchase gas. I don't need gas!!!! I need air in my tire! I even offered to buy something. I don't even want to give me then 1 star

Stop to get sone water and use the restroom, which I couldn't use, they had them out of order but the staff was using them. Don't know if they weren't clean or really had a problem. When I asked the employee that was coming out of the bathroom if I could use it, with a very rude attitude answered just a simple NO and kept walking, no apology or anything else. Their service is very poor.

Stopped in for gas and a candy bar tonight. Clean gas station and friendly employee. Gas was cheaper than most places in town right now so that was an added bonus.

The sign that your supposed to know about back at the pumps about calling for help. Ive paid in store for 2yrs pointed out my car then got my gas once at the pump. The female afternoon shift and the district mngr are both trying to rip me off cuz the f'd up n gave the gas to another car. That's there mistake not mine.

I am really disappointed that am pm is still charging a .35 fee for using your debit card. I do realize that it's called a "convenience" store, but that's no excuse to charge for using a debit card. I bought a 6 pack of beer, which cost $7.99 for Miller High Life, that I could have paid $5.00 for two quarts at Ralph's... so, I will take my business elsewhere am PM. This area of San Diego is depressed economically and you charging your customers for convenience is shameful...so shame on you am pm.
