I had two sleep studies done here in the fall of 2017. Annual check-up with physician every June, which was OK although not very thorough. More interested in my CPAP machine chip data than me. I had made an appointment at my June 2021 appointment for June 2022. I needed to change the date, and tried to call them in May 2022. Phone disconnected and no response. I finally got through to their corporate office in Florida after many phone attempts only to find they had closed the San Diego location with no notice to patients, nor any referral to another facility/provider. Patient abandonment is unethical and in some states illegal! I was able to get my PCP to refer me to UCSD Sleep Center, which cannot see me until Feb. 2023, but I can go until then. Don't need supplies. Was able to get the ASM corporate to find my sleep study and follow-up records and fax to both my PCP and to UCSD. What a unethical and non-patient friendly company!

The office is closed but I received a call the other day from Dr.Dahi's receptionist that he was doing online consultations and now I have an upcoming appt in a few days. Looking forward to continuing with Dr.Dahi. He has been my dr for years and will continue to be his patient.

Worst place ever. They closed without warning one day and and didn't tell anyone so I showed up for my sleep study and waited around for like 15 minutes only to find out later they closed all of a sudden. Waste of time and horrible experience. They deleted my old review because it was too honest so here it is again.

My rating is not for this particular facility but for the entire American sleep Medicine organization. I am one of the hundreds of people that got their CPAP machine recalled. I went to American sleep medicine in San Diego and had a sleep study done two days later I tried calling the company to make my second appointment. I could not get anybody on the phone, after several days I finally called the headquarters in Florida only to find out that they closed the I American Sleep Medicine Office in San Diego. They could not tell me how to get a copy of my initial sleep study so I can go to another facility to finish the process. This is quite disappointing as I now have to start over from the beginning and redo the sleep study again paying another company. If I could give them a zero rating I would.

Even a competitor called American Sleep Medicine the "Cadillac of sleep specialists". Yep! They are first-class and top-of-the-line.

Pretty sure this place is a scam. Despite my attempts to communicate with this company, they have been completely unresponsive. I went through their so-called sleep tests - not a word back on the results, diagnosis, or recommendations. Why in the world would anyone pay these scammers?

I do not recommend American Sleep Medicine. They run a scam operation. I had a one-night stay at the Germantown, Tennessee, facility. I was there for insomnia; however, they don't care to treat insomnia. They are only interested in treating sleep apnea. After the sleep study, they diagnosed me with mild sleep apnea and scheduled a CPAP diagnostic. (Sleep apnea can be mild, moderate, or severe.) Naturally, they found that I needed a CPAP machine, even though my condition was mild. They are in the business of selling CPAP machines! I never met in person with a physician or a nurse. When I questioned the value of the study, the nurse told me over the phone that my oxygen level was terrible. I explained to her that I have a deviated septum, but she instead said that the problem was sleep apnea. I now have a neurologist who is treating me effectively for insomnia. He told me to ignore the study done by American Sleep Medicine. By the way, American Sleep Medicine billed the insurance company $7,000 for that one-night sleep study. Ridiculous! If your condition is not moderate or severe sleep apnea, you don't need a CPAP machine. This company preys on suckers!

I see a lot of sleep disorder noob reviews, with some really strange and entitled complaints. Maybe they are crabby from lack of sleep. This clinic isn't my first rodeo dealing with this Specialty. If you guys are new to this, it's scary, I know. It can be an emotional journey. Try to stick it out, you'll feel better at some point, I promise. Hang in there fellow sleep disturbance peeps. If I could give them any feedback, it would be to mail the forms in advance, a hard copy. Who the heck has a working printer at home?? What you ask us to fill out in the office is daunting, overwhelming and also impossible to complete certain parts with no wifi accessible to patients, to access our records at other clinics. You would get better and more complete patient history in this manner. I could have been much more thorough, and honestly would have liked to not have to complete the packet in one sitting. The communication has been extremely poor. My experiences have not been consistent or overall even good.

I would give these people six stars if this app would let me! I've never been to a medical facility that treated me with such compassion and professionalism. Not only did they provide excellent service, but the passion that the staff feels towards their work is heartwarming (especially Tina). If you have any sleep issues, this is the place you need to visit!

I was referred to ASM by my dentist for unresolved TMJ/grinding pain that we thought may be related to sleep apnea. After two sleep studies, a mask fitting and some great education by Tina. My fear and trepidation of meeting this challenge head on melted and I am motivated to be compliant and feel better. No one is excited to get a sleep study, let's be honest, so when I saw a less than happy review here, I noted this person's opinion may be coming from a sleep deprived place and I assure you no one is at his or her best self, sleep deprived. Sleep is so important and this team knows the art and science of sleep. If you are struggling, I would give them a try. Be patient with yourself, be patient with them.I truly believe they want to help you.

What a horrible experience! The staff there treat clients like they are detestable street scum that they are doing a favor by treating! From my first appointment to tonight when I showed up for my 2nd "sleep study", they have been awful! I'll skip the details of first few visits and how they treated my daughter. I originally attributed those issues to lack of communication and/or a bad day but I realize that wasn't the case. I did the at home sleep study and was unsurprisingly diagnosed with sleep apnea. Still, it was not a welcome revelation, as I'm sure you could imagine. I assumed I'd be prescribed a CPAP machine and go in my way. Nope, I was informed I'd have to sleep in their lab for a night. I wasn't too keen on this but figured, I'f it helps, I can deal with a night in that environment. I was told I'm not getting enough oxygen when I sleep, and it could lead to health prove. Scary! So, I scheduled my appointment for Friday at 7:30 pm. I cut my dinner short with my family to make sure I got there in plenty of time. You know how doctors offices can be if you are late! When I got there the building was dark, there was very little light in the parking lot and only one other car. This worried me, I really don't want to donate my car to some thief! The other car was occupied by another "patient" of ASM. He was as perplexed as I about why the building was dark and locked 10 minutes before our appointment. Another car pulled up and we thought it was an employee to let us in. It was an elderly lady in her night dress, there to have her study done. We told her we didn't think anyone was there and perhaps there was a mixup. She wasn't having that and promptly started banging on the door. Of course, no response. I called every number I had associated with ASM and no response, nor was there an after hours number to callI prepared to leave as it was 7:31 pm and there was no sign of life in the lot or the building. I wrote a note on my paper mask so they would know I was there. As I finished my note, I looked up to see the door had been opened. I went inside and there were two staff members there.I was incensed! I asked if they had been there the whole time and they said they had and were getting rooms ready. I inquired if they heard the people banging in the doors and the phone ringing. Yep, they heard that too! I asked why they didn't reply. They said they don't open the doors until the exact appointment time. Really? Are we a bunch of vagabonds waiting for free handouts or convicts or something, No, we are paying customers with jobs and families and things we'd rather be doing than showing up to spend the night in some institution in a sketchy part of town! Surely they could have let us into the lobby while they are making things ready, right? If not me, the little ole lady already in her night dress! I asked, if that was your policy, why didn't you let us know? They just stared at me! I went on to say, couldn't you put a note on the door saying, yea we are here, we don't open the doors until the minute of your appointment? Again, blank stares! Not a hey, sorry to make you folks stress or worry in an already stressful situation for you. Nothing! Their final comment to me was, do you want to do the study or not? To which I replied, absolutely not! Long story, I know but one worth telling. If we allow places like this to treat us like cattle, we deserve the poor treatment we receive. Not me.
