I was very satisfied with a consultation by an immigration lawyer Masha. She answered all my questions and even took an extra step by providing me with useful resources. Thank you.

Everything is good, but people who are working in this office is very rude and disrespectful. They need to know their job requirements.

I am a fourth year at san diego state university and I chose Alliance for African Assistance for my lab and I was given the email of Kari Gergen. The lab work I would do would basically be helping out with whatever they need for 2 hours each weeks for free. I emailed her with my availability and things were going so great , I was so excited to begin this lab and we figured out a schedule that worked and she was so nice through emails. On Tuesday (3 days before my start date) some of the lab students (including me) thought to ask about the dress code through email, to which she never replied. On friday @10 am I started my placement and showed up in a full length tank top and maxi skirt (it was 80 degrees) and I thought it was an appropriate outfit. Kari yelled at me a few moments after I walked in and scolded me for my outfit in front of so many men and random people, including some peers from SDSU. I was so embarrassed, people had walked over to see what the commotion was, asking if things were okay and I just sat to do my paperwork once she said I could. While doing paper work, one lab student from sdsu and I sat down and after about 4-5 min of paperwork, Kari yelled “ARE YOU DONE” and I looked up and I shook my head “no”while the other student didn’t reply. I kept writing and was startled when I heard her raise her voice even more and said “ARE YOU DONE, DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM??” and I looked up to see that she was speaking to me and not the other lab student at all, Im not sure why. I stuttered and said no and she began screaming at me that I have attitude. I told her I was so overwhelmed and she interrupted and told me that I was being sensitive because all she said was “one comment” about my outfit according to her but honestly I felt that wasn’t the case. Anyways I ended up having to ask for a breather outside because I felt like I was going to cry and she said “yes make it a permanent one” to which I said that I would rather stay inside and continue with the paperwork. She said that she’s telling me, not asking me to take that permanent break because she’s not dealing with me. I left in tears and emailed my professor by 10:15 that I had been kicked out of my placement. The professor wanted a meeting and I ended up going through my class list and finding out what student was there to witness it all and I ended up setting up a meeting with that student and my sdsu professor. The student let me and the professor know that Kari kept bringing me up after she kicked me out and was trash talking me and saying how much attitude I had and that she’s glad she dodged working with me for a semester. I have done four other lab placements formy Child and Family Development classes and have never ever had a single issue. also no matter what, I fell like Kari was super unprofessional and should not have ever acted like that and I hope SDSU or other schools don’t interact with this kind of environment, especially for a lab for a child development course.

I would be very careful of this organization. Ask lots of questions and get any agreement in writing. Very untrustworthy.

This is an organization with the most wonderful people. My family received invaluable help at a difficult time in our lives. It is impossible to convey in simple words the feelings of our gratitude. It felt like we had real friends in a foreign country! I want to thank them again from the bottom of my heart! What you are doing inspires hope and faith in goodness!

I found everyone willing to help and with a very good attitude. Lacked more personel, I believe, and also a person that ould translate into spanish and viceversa. Is a lenguage so common in Southern Ca.! After all we are a city just minutes from a huge spanish speaking country and down south every country speaks in spanish except Brazil. Many of you have made mexicans feel bad. regected, inferiors..."We don't rent to Maxicans or people with pets" was a common sign seen here, I've been told.9 I am not mexican nor any relative of mine. I want to finish with this true experience of a friend of mine in Glendale, CA. He tried to rent agood apartmet and was told by the manager, "Sorry but we don't rent to mexicans". He apperently was so mad that he seek revenge. He called the owener and offer to buy the apartment complex and so he did. First thing he did was to fire the manager. This a true story. My friend (a Cuban) had been practicing medicine in Glendale for many years and had the money to do what he was able to accomplish. Many mexicans, I've notice, are afraid to admit their heritage or that they speak spanish. How many times have I encounter, specially professinals, with last names Jimenez, Rodriguez... that tell me they don't speak spanish. Asking about their last names they tell me their father and mother were mexicans. What a shame! My father use to say, "being belingual per se, makes you a professional". My 3 sons could not speak but speanish while at home. In school and with friends they were going to learn more that enough english. That's their main language now but, they are all fully bilingual. Besides, they seem very proud of their Cuban background. Amen to that!

This is a complaint on behalf of more than ten people. There is an employee called “Sumaya Al Banna”. She is the worst employee. I have recently done a “N-400 naturalization application” with Sumaya. I give her my right information to put them in the application. However, she made more than 10 mistakes. Imagine that, she messed up with my name, my date of birth, and my original country and more. When I told her to change the wrong information, she ignored that and messed up again!!!! I don’t know either she is doing that on purpose or she is stupid. I told my friends about what happened and I surprised that each one of them had the same bad experience with her.."I am kindly asking the manager or the supervisor of this organization to exclude and fired her from this job."
