This was suggested as a market. It is a convenience store. I'm sure it's a lovely convenience store but when I'm trying to get groceries late, with kids, I'm usually not primarily looking to buy liquor. I actually typed in "ethnic grocer" into Google. 8538538+ results that were liquor stores, really.

Simple market with all the essentials, 15 minute parking spots right outside for convenience. Friendly service.

Second time I go & I get charged differently than what is advertised on the bottle. Won't be coming back here. Not worth it. Rather go to VONS. Even with ¢50 surcharge with debit transactions doesn't add up.

Love that they are right in the neighborhood and open til 11! Good for some quick stuff. Snacks, drinks, munchies. They have beer and wine too. And rolling papers. All the goods!

Always friendly and willing to stock items for locals if it’s not on the shelf, great local store for any last minute needs/ cravings. Owner is very friendly and is often manning the store himself.

a lot of their items are expired. if an item is on sale ( a lot is on sale), check if it is expired/past the best-by date because it probably is, especially the beer. not worth the money you would save cuz it tastes flat and weird/unpleasant

Cherokee Market is like the heart of this part of Normal Heights. All the guys who work here are super friendly & helpful - unless you don't want it, you'll get to know them; and they you. They're the sort of people who actually want to hear the answer when they ask how you are - but professional enough to keep the line moving at the same time. They have made the extra effort to get at least one product for me in the six months since I moved to the neighborhood. Just found out about last night's fire & want to say that I, & I think many others, are behind them in getting the store back up & running.
