I was excited when they first built this location. But now it's lacking. Not a fan of the Hoist equipment. They need to re-apholster the seats and other parts that are coming apart. Some of their equipment don't have smooth movement. The bathroom showers have mildew. The steam room and sauna smell and patrons don't take off their shoes when going in so they track all their dirt inside despite having the signs on the doors. The fans are way too high during late night when there's barely anyone there. Someone sneezed the other night and didn't cover their mouth and you know the rest. I usually ride my EUC to other locations and they usually let me bring it in to post it inside but this location won't allow it.

This place used to be ok in the past 2 years this place has gone from bad to worse it’s changed management 2 times and every time it just gets worse and worse. They have a bunch of unhappy people working there just looking miserable. It’s also dirty and they have no idea what they are doing or have any good customer service. What a shame it’s a nice gym but could be better.

So I like this location but the steam room smells awful like mildew and I'm afraid of getting sick, literally it looks like the showers have never been cleaned ever... and my biggest complaint is someone broke the punching bag and now who knows when we will get another one...I don't want to go to another location, I like this location, but everyone who goes here doesn't like how unclean the facility is and how the equipment doesn't get fixed or replaced... at least 3 of the treadmills have some kind of problem rendering them unusable... personally I just want the punching bag back and to be able to use a sanitary steam room without feeling like I'm going to catch pneumonia standing inside!!!! Or to take a shower and wash my sweat without feeling like I'm going to catch hepatitis!!!

this is by far terribly managed. When unhappy management never returns calls and most gym associates are often rude and leave you on a excessive hold. Refunds are unheard of , respect is unheard of. Trainings is good if you have previous gym experience but don't expect coaching or help with trying to learn for yourself so you never have to ask again. Interested in collecting your money and keeping it that' s all this place is with rude, and neglectful arrogant behavior.

Decent gym, decent value, and friendly people and staff. However, the men's bathroom is kinda gross. The area near the urinals needs to be mopped more often. Also, there's usually a small wait to get a squat rack and cables during peak hours. It's be great if they could fit additional equipment to reduce wait times.

The Good:Lots of equipment but gets crowded during week from about 5 pm - 7 pm.The Bad:Men's bathroom is disgusting. Smells and never seen it clean or anyone cleaning it. Always smells like piss and floor yellow from it in front of urinals. And all kind of debris can be in urinals. I look up at ceiling when I can't hold it any longer and have to make the dreaded trek to bathroom. Lots of posts here about dirty bathroom and seems the management and staff could care less.In terms of staff, they seem to do a lot of gossiping, talking to each other. And there are often several of them working but not one of them vacuums or cleans. They seem to only sign up new members.

This place is disgusting!!!If the locker room, a place that is required to be kept clean looks like this, imagine the filth on the machines people are working out on.-Floors that used to be cleaned daily no longer see a mop or any form of disinfectant.-Showers that won’t drain leaving standing water that leaks into the locker room-YES, THAT IS CLUMPS OF HAIR ON THE FLOOR AND WALL-Ceiling vents that haven’t been touched in months!-Mold growing on the walls and soap descender!-Soap scum everywhere! What are we paying for, wasn’t this place billed as a “special club” don’t we pay more to go to this club VS others.A Clean locker room and gym should be a given.

When this location first opened, I would give it 5 Stars. It is slowly becoming like it's sibling gym 1 mile away in Rancho Penasquitos. Treadmill plastic front has layers of dust. Men's bathroom, especially the urinals and sinks, are disgusting. Need to straddle urinal to avoid stepping in urine.I go workout about 3x weekly and have never seen the bathroom cleaned or in clean condition. In the past I was member of Chuze in Rancho Bernardo and LA Fitness in 4S Ranch. Both facilities, especially Chuze was always clean. Their staff went around hourly cleaning. At 24 Hour Fitness, staff only concerned in new members and private lessons. Cleaning, meh, who needs that?!I can see that in a few years, this once nice location will be as dirty and old as its Penasquitos sibling gym. And for $40, or whatever other members pay for Super Sport, we should expect and get better than a gas station bathroom and dirty equipment. That said, the gym is spacious and lots of equipment, which is step about Chuze and LA Fitness. But the cleanliness for me is an issue and my guess is that in time I need to change clubs because of the yuk factor that is slowly creeping in.

Equipment and facility are great, the only issue the men's shower stalls are nasty there is black mold building on the walls and even though I contacted 24 hours corporate they have NOT done anything. Also the men's toilet many of times are nasty they also need to be cleaned. And the steam room needs cleaning at the walls as well. The janitor in this place is not doing the job, too bad.

I usually go to 24 Hr Fitness El Cajon. This gym is a little busier but definitely didn't feel packed. The equipment is way nicer here than El Cajon. The equipment was newer, in working condition and clean. So why does the El Cajon location have subpar equipment?

Hope you like sauna workouts... where the AC is never on place is dirty, equipment is from the early 2000s. The daily high was 95+ and the AC was off for two days.

The employees here disgust me. Their lack of compassion and helpfulness distracts me. Horrible experience, recommend La fitness or others nearby, very unkind and disrespectful staff.

Update on my previous review this month: They finally "mopped" the men's locker room floor. That makes it three times in the past week, compared to no times in the past three+ months. That's the good news. I ran out of time in my last review, so I missed some things: water fountains are periodically "wiped" but not "cleaned." Using Lime Away or CLR weekly with wiping down the fountains daily should be the minimum. Photos on the website show an outside workout area, an inside pool, and a basketball court that does not exist at this gym. Very deceiving. The lip of the tile on the upper edge of the Jacuzzi is black with dirt/mold and has not been scrubbed clean since January 2022. That's when the best maintenance man in their system was laid off. We have been suffering ever since. One of the eight showers in the men's locker room has been "out of order" for over five months. For so long, two out-of-order signs have fallen off the door. The showers have mold in almost every one, and some have mold inside the soap dispensers. The worst part of the showers is the vents and fire sprinklers in the showers. They have not been cleaned in eleven months or more. The fire sprinklers were not made for showers and should be replaced with materials that do not rust or corrode in wet, humid areas. There are no janitors that clean the gym daily. The work is being done by those charged with "running the front desk." They are not trained to clean the gym, but if they still have two out of three vacuum floors, empty trash, fill dispensers with soap, TP, paper towels, and disinfectant dispensers. When they break, they usually disappear. I do not look forward to the next flu and COVID season. Hopefully, an "audit" by an entity with some responsibility will visit this location soon and help provide the cleaning personnel and budget to make and keep this gym safe for the members. Many of these City violations could be resolved quickly with the proper training, tools, and personnel instead of relying on the members to notify the staff of the problems. A checklist with the equipment names/areas and the people responsible for keeping them "clean" would be an excellent place to start.
