What a wonderful throwback. The love these units, this place, has been given shows in every corner. It is simply devine.A leisurely stroll, and you are in the midst of the action at the pier.Watching the surfers do their thing while moving the loungers every so often to follow the sun. Oh, and the sunset. What a sight, what a gorgeous location! And those pillows, forget about it!Well done Beachcomer, well done.

Everything about this place is great...the staff, the view, cleanliness, everything!Only drawback is the rooms are always booked far in advance making availability slim to none.Rooms: Small but have everything you need including a kitchen.Nearby activities: Walking distance to pier, numerous eateries, rentals for the beach, etc.Walkability: Few minutes to walk to coffee, ice cream, cocktails, & the beach.

We just returned from 5 nights at the Beachcomber Inn with our family and had a fantastic time! The property is beautiful and has an amazing view of the beach and sunsets. The rooms are very comfortable and the kitchens are well stocked with all your cooking needs. The staff is exceptional from house keeping to the assistant manager, Tina. You are in for a treat if you plan a vacation to the Beachcomber.

Went for a short visit to San Clemente and my friend wanted to have a quick look at the Beachcomber Inn to book it for another trip. We walked on the large grass area with my small dog and an employee started coming at us and talking to us in a extremely rude way, calling us names and kicked us out of the property because apparently, dogs were not allowed. There are different ways of handling this especially when someone is trying to book a room. Not recommended.

This was our first visit and we had the BEST stay! The staff was super friendly and helpful. All rooms have a huge plate glass window with spectacular views of the San Clemente pier and the ocean, and the beach. There are 2 chairs and a table on each unit's porch in addition to lounge chairs out on the grass. This charming property is older, but amazingly clean and well-kept. The restroom and shower are a little on the small side, but the shower had plenty of water pressure and everything was clean and sanitized. We had a cute kitchenette with a sink, a full-size stove, and a refrigerator, and was fully equipped with everything you need to cook a meal. There also was a Cuisinart (Keurig-style) coffee maker with coffee pods supplied. There are 2 large BBQs for guests to use, and each evening they turn on the fire pit before sunset, with plenty of seating for guests to enjoy. There are several restaurants and cafes, within a 3 or 4-minute walk, as well as the pier and beach access. All-in-all it was a great trip and we plan to make it a yearly event.

Love this place, it's so quaint, has the BEST views, the rooms have been "revitalized", and are really nice, love that they have old charm and have a little kitchen, the beds are comfortable and the new pillows are awesome! I was even given the name of the company they purchased them from so I can purchase my own... the staff is SUPER helpful and very friendly.... And it's a short walk to the restaurants in town! It's reasonable, We'll ALWAYS come back here!

The beachcomber is our most favorite getaway that feels like home upon check in. The staff are amazing and friendly (thanks to Tina and Joey for everything!) Each room has it's own personality and there isn't a bad view anywhere on the property. You may stay elsewhere, but none will compare with the expansive grass area with large fire-pit, tables, and comfortable loungers in private groupings. It's perfect for a quiet get away or to have a great time with friends. We met the most amazing people each night around the fire pit, and we found that many guests live not far away but return because of the experience and gorgeous views. We just returned from a 3 night stay and are already looking forward to our next trip!Rooms: There is an expansive view from every room. The water, palm trees, view, and lawn are gorgeous from sunrise to sunset.Nearby activities: You can be as active or relaxed during your visit with beach activities, walking/running on the beach path, shopping and eating, The free newspaper outlines all events in the area weekly/monthly.Safety: Each room has a parking space and the rooms and property are available only to guests. This is truly a private property.Walkability: With the privacy of the property, and the pier and beach are one minute away. There are many restaurants and shops steps or a short stroll away. The free trolley runs on the weekends, which is always fun!

Beachcomber Inn is a coastal compound of 12 quaint Cottage Villas. They are decorated in colorful ocean theme décor and each room has a well stocked kitchenette. All of the Villas have excellent views. You can't go wrong with the room selection, they are all well situated. The ocean views, easy access to the Pier/Shoreline/Restaurants and Shopping make this location ideal for a coastal get away. The management was friendly, efficient and helpful, making check-in/check-out a breeze. Parking is included which is a plus! The housekeeping staff were pleasant and available for anything you might need. They kept the grounds spotless! We will definitely continue to enjoy our weekends here in paradise for many years to come. 5 stars!

We love this place. The views are breathtaking and just a short walk to the pier. The downside is that you pretty much have to book a year in advance and parking is tight. But even on a stormy day it is worth the drive.

Nice place close to the beach. Villa and suites available for bigger groups. We love coming here yearly or multiple times during the year. Affordable and nice to have kitchen to cook.

We had a wonderful stay at the Beachcomber Inn. Our villa was clean, the views were incredible, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Even though it was winter, we were able to catch a day full of sun and great weather. Would definitely come back if we ever got the opportunity.

We travel to SoCal annually and I’ve always wanted to stay at the Beachcomber. This year we finally took the leap to try it and see if it may just be a our new weekly getaway hotel. Unfortunately that didn’t work out. The day we were set to arrive, SoCal was under a blizzard warning in the mountains and travel was not recommended. National weather service said not to head through the mountains to the coast. It was devastating and unheard of. While we understood that the booking was not refundable, we called the hotel and explained our worries with traveling in that weather warning. Instead of suggesting different routes or options, or even allowing us to check in a day later or a day the following week, we were met with rudeness and belittling even though he admitted he had availability. Rather than a simple “I’m very sorry to hear this, let’s see what we can do” or even a “I’m sorry, we do understand but your room is not refundable”, we instead got “we have your money already, I don’t care if come or not”. “This is your problem, not mine”. I wish I was making this up, but my husband, myself and the booking company were all treated like garbage by the owner. What a dreadful person. So not only did we not get to make it to San Clemente, we were out $420cdn, and it saddens me that such a condescending and disrespectful owner is the one profiting from the back luck of extreme weather. A blizzard warning for SoCal is unheard of! Sure the place is cute and has an amazing location, but this owner offers no understanding if anything arises, even a death in the family. Book these non refundable rooms with caution. Dealing with this owner/hotel is not worth the risk.

We love The Beachcomber Inn, we go every year and as many times as we can get in each year. Each unit is decorated different and very clean. But the best part is the full ocean view from every unit.

A throwback motel which we can't get enough of! This place has it all to celebrate our wedding anniveraries...year after year...even our 50th! That's how Socal cool it is. Well maintained...overlooking the San Clemente pier, beach, coastline and train stop...plus a kitchen to prep our own breakfasts (we eat lunch and dinner at nearby restaurants). Of course, as constant readers we love the porches with chairs and a table for my rum and cokes and box of Goobers!! But don't go to this place, I want to keep it for our own special hideaway.
