Looks like this location closed recently :( (as of 8/28)It didn't seem that long that we were just there and sitting on the nearby swing (across from Fieldworks) to enjoy our scoops. Before they took the earl grey away, it was ALWAYS my go-to. But this did give me the opp to try some other flavors and I ended up liking the Blue Jasmine. Sad to see this location gone, since now the closest one will be Palo Alto. I may have to rely on picking it up from Whole Foods now.

I have to say I'm a fan! I go back and fourth between Tin Pot Creamery and Salt and Straw. Tin Pot's location is more appealing to me than the hectic Salt and Straw location.I've had Tin Pot Creamery's lavender ice cream. I have come to appreciate the small scoop portions, keeps me from ordering a whole pint and devouring it all in one sitting. Also appreciate their biodegradable serving bowls and spoons. This area is also great for families! There's a Bocce Court right across the street.Plenty of park areas to walk about and wonder as you drench your pallete with Tin Pot's Creamy goodness. Family friendly location with easy parking! Overall I'd recommend this location.

Hidden away from the hustle of downtown, I was blown away with Blue Jasmine Tea Ice Cream here at Tin Pot Creamery. Fragrant and refreshing with a faint bubblegum aftertaste. This luscious blue scoop was not too sweet. Come and get lucky with this rare blue find. A natural food coloring agent, dried butterfly pea flowers are steeped together with delicate jasmine buds and green tea in a honey syrup before blended into a harmonious profile . This ice cream has a gentle floral taste and a mild sweet flavor similar to chamomile with a brilliant cerulean blue hue when prepared as a tea. By the way, if your mouth is aflame after a surprising fiery spicy dinner, this will cool you instantly. An enchanting blend of fabulous fusion! Also available at Whole Foods Market.

I was able to finish a generous scoop of ice cream all by myself! That's the true compliment there, because normally ice cream gets wayyy to sweet after a few licks for me. I got the blue jasmine tea. I guess the blue coloring isn't necessary but honestly it grabbed my attention and I liked the way it looked, but most importantly it tasted great. My boyfriend had the malted milk and it reminded me of the ovaltine I had as a kid, tasty but sweeter than the blue jasmine tea I had. So many cool unique flavors, would love to return to try some more. There's other food places nearby and a large open space outside to sit or walk around. Street parking isn't too bad, might have to walk a block or two but totally fine by me.

Went here since we were in the area and it was a hot day! The lady that was helping us did not seem friendly at all. We got the seasonal Lavender custard with wild blueberries and it was delicious! She scooped from the side of the bin so it was icy. I would come back because it's some solid ice cream!

My favorite spot for handcrafted ice cream in the Bay Area! They have such a flavor great selection. The most difficult part is having to choose between all their flavors. It's very similar to Salt & Straw, except at Salt & Straw I always end up getting the same flavor because most of their menu is too strange for my liking. At Tin Pot, I always want to try a new flavor. This time, I got their Blue Jasmine & it was great! It tasted like Taiwanese milk tea in ice cream form. I do have to say their waffle bowl was very crunchy and thin, not too sure if I was a fan of that or thicker/softer waffle batter. They also offer samples now, so make sure to do that before committing to your scoop(s)! It's a bit expensive if you're comparing it to large chains like Baskin Robbins, but priced normally for handcrafted ice cream.

Coming home from a day at Stanford, we wanted some ice cream but when we checked out the Town and Country location, it was a little too chaotic for our liking with a line around the corner so we left. Doing a quick Yelp search, we were pleasantly surprised to see there was also a San Mateo location, not far off our route home! The location seems a bit off the beaten path, in a mixed retail/residential area so you have to look for street parking. But we were pleased to see that it was nowhere as busy as the Palo Alto location! We ended up trying 3 flavors- mint chip, malted milkshake, and raspberry lemonade sorbet. The mint chip was as expected, solid. The malted milkshake flavor took me back to a soda fountain. I liked them both but my favorite was the raspberry lemonade sorbet. Sweet, tangy, fruity, a great combination of flavors! Can't wait to come back again!

DELICIOUS!!!!Counter person super helpful and gave a bigger tasting of the seasonal flavors. Not crazy about tasting from a wooden stir stix but it is what it is.First time here and can't wait to come back. Unfortunately far from home and maybe it's good otherwise I'll be here too often.Decided on the coconut pandan and mango Chamoy scoops. The coconut pandan is very flavorful and just the right balance of creaminess while the mango Chamoy was aromatic and tangy. So good!!!!

Came in on late Saturday night. Lots of street parking. I thought we were able to sample the flavors before picking but they did not have sampling available. I was surprised since other ice cream spots brought back sampling. Snickerdoodle Cookie - tasted like cinnamon ice cream. It wasn't as creamy as other ice cream I've had.Cookie Monster - tasted more like a cookies and cream because I only had a piece of cookie dough in my scoop. I really wanted to like this flavor but I feel like the cookies and cream and cookie dough ice cream combinations weren't balanced. Again, it wasn't as creamy. At the price point, I expected the ice cream to stand out a bit more.

Ordered a single scoop of the Blue Jasmine Tea ice cream in a cup.It tasted florally-like jasmine tea. It wasn't super sweet and was a nice light blue color. As you can see in the photo, there were a few little bits of something in my scoop of ice cream. Also, the way the worker scooped my ice cream made it so that it looked like a nice round scoop but there was a hole in the middle! Not cool. This place is pretty pricey, a single scoop in a cup is over $5!

We went there Saturday night. This is my second time at this location, the flavors were outstanding and we could tell the quality was good. However, the scoop size on this second visit was considerable smaller than my first, and our server R. seemed to make each scoop smaller than next, as we got 3 flavors on our second visit. We understand that there is some effort to make a scoop, but we were disappointed by the smallness of our servings in our second visit. We will still keep driving regularly from San Mateo to Santa Cruz to Penny to enjoy good service with smiles and ice cream.

Hit up Tin Pot as it was super hot after we left Fieldwork. The bestie saw the Mango Sticky Rice Sundae on their door so that's what we got. I didn't know how much I will like this sundae but it was actually really nice. A perfect end to a hot day. Will be back when I'm in the area.

This place is awesome, not your typical Cold Stone. This place has unique and delicious flavors. I had the Cookie Monster in a waffle cone. By far the best cookies and cream ice cream. I love the feel of the place and the staff are very friendly. I will definitely be coming back soon.

I can see why this spot is a local favorite. This is truly artisanal ice cream. I haven't had a flavor I felt is less than spectacular- cookie Monster, blue Jasmine, and lemon poppy were all amazing. Super flavorful and fragrant rather than just creamy and sweet. I was pleasantly surprised by the lemon poppy, which was like a lavendar cookie dough ice cream, but with lemon poppy cookie dough. You really have to be a lavendar lover for this flavor though. Also, they have a bomb ice cream cake. That chocolate cake base goes with everything I'm telling you.
