I know this might sound crazy, but I'm almost in tears writing this review. I've been a Roadrunner customer for many years, with a VIP membership for several years. I've had 4 reconstructive foot surgeries and deal with a lot of pain so good shoes is EXTREMELY important, especially given I exercise most days and need a versatile pair of shoes for walking and running. I became a Roadrunner customer years ago living in LA and loved that every time I'd go in there would be someone kind and helpful who was willing to take the time to help me find the right pair of shoes for me and was patient in doing so, encouraging me to walk, run, do whatever I needed to make sure I was leaving with the pair that was right for me. I really needed a new pair of shoes so I was thrilled to see that they have Roadrunner locations in the Bay Area. I went into the San Carlos location and was initially excited by the size of the store. It took about 10 mins to get someone's attention to be added to the list and was told I'd need to wait 10 mins for someone to help me. Unusual given my years coming to Roadrunner but no problem. We ended up waiting 30 minutes. When someone finally did approach us, he ended up helping me and another person at the same time and really seemed to struggle to do so. I gave him a full run down of what I was looking for and why. My last 2 pairs of shoes from RoadRunner have been Hokas and I was an Asics girlie before that. He kept forgetting my size, what I was looking for, and then brought out 3 pairs of shoes but no Hokas. He said they had no Hokas in my size. I'm an 8.5 and I'd assume a women's 8.5 is a pretty common size to keep in store. They only had 1 working treadmill so it wasn't easy to get access to it to even properly test the shoes. Then the person I was working with left and he turned me over to someone else who was equally uninterested in helping. I ended up finally just grabbing the Asics and waiting another 5 mins in line to check out, again, since, no salesperson was paying attention. Upon check out they said they'd email me a receipt and I never got one. I also gave them the shoe box to recycle since I decided to wear the shoes out to keep testing them and they assured me I wouldn't need the box to return it as long as I had the receipt. Now I have no receipt, I wasted my nearly $50 in rewards on a shoe that makes me cry when I wear it for more than 6 minutes at a time. I've never been made to feel so not valued and now I feel stuck with these awful shoes. Seriously thinking of canceling my VIP membership or only sticking to my home location but I will never be back here again.

I needed a really good sneakers fit. Marissa, my fit expert, put me through all the measurements and recommend several brands to try. She was knowledgeable and most importantly patient. :-) Roadrunner is the place to go for a scientific fit and great selection of sneakers! I enjoyed working with Marissa. Will definitely be back!

Terrible customer service. Bought a pair sneakers they developed holes in toe within weeks of purchase: got new ones to replace them. The new ones developed holes they refused to replace defective sneakers. My wife and I have been customers for years. Very disappointing. We will no longer do business with road runner sports.

I came in on Sunday, July 16th just to look for new walking shoes. The service and knowledge shared by store associate, William was exceptional. He was professional, personable, and patient - all the qualities you want from an associate. Mind you, there were three of us in my party and the level of service was outstanding for each of us. He took time to explain everything about the Fit Finder analysis, which was very informative! Needless to say, we all walked out with new insoles and shoes. We will definitely recommend and come back again, hopefully William will assist us again! He is a great asset to your store and should be recognized. Thanks again, William!

Ask for Kali!!! She was amazing! She was so knowledgeable and knew how to fit me for a shoe, then brought out many options to try. Then, based on how those fit, she brought out more selections for a little more variety. She did not try to push any sort of product and took as much time as I needed. She answered every question and knew the ins and outs of each shoe. She was also just very sweet and approachable, and represented the company so well.

Kali spent over an hour with us. She is so knowledgeable regarding the variety, construction and aspect of running shoe. Putting that knowledge with the type of runner equated to a perfect fit! Kali was so easy and comfortable to work with. Road Runner Sport is extremely fortunate to have an intelligent, approachable, kind employee!!!Highly recommend to work with Kali!!!

The representative suggested I buy two pairs of shoes, a 10 1/2 and an 11 and return. The ones that I didn't like well neither of them fit because Altra changed how they make their shoes on and a half was too small. The 11 was too big I sent the shoes back, one month later I called them up because it always takes three weeks and she said it would take three weeks for the refund. I called him one month later like where is the money? I'm told I'm gonna get merchandise credit because it was Pet here on the shoes? I said prove it they said oh sorry it's been too long. We can't prove it. I said send me back my shoes then I'll sell them. They said oh we can't do that. We've already donated them, I would never buy another pair of shoes from these people never have I ever had this kind of an issue from any running shoe company ever I would buy your shoes and some other placeAfter this note from DAYJIA CRYER SOLUTIONS SPECIALIST II I received my full refund!!!!

My son is doing high school cross country and needs a really excellent pair of running shoes to keep him comfortable and safe throughout the season. We went to this running specialty store to get expert advice and tips for the perfect shoe to ensure his safety. What we got was a colossal waste of time. The salesperson assigned to us clearly knew NOTHING about running. He wasn't even familiar with what cross country is. We spent a lot of time getting his feet measured and evaluated (which I lacked confidence in given this gentleman's general sense of confusion) and then the system suggested a few pairs of shoes. This dude comes out with totally different shoes. I asked why these shoes and instead of the ones that had been suggested he had no answer. I asked about the difference between the shoes he DID bring out and again no substantive answers.It was clear that this guy had no idea what he was doing or talking about and was just trying to sell us whatever shoes they had in my son's size. That was completely irresponsible and not what I would expect from a specialty store. So thanks for taking an hour + from our lives that we will never get back.

Bought some running shoes for my daughter yesterday 7/19/23. At checkout the employee told me she would be upgrading my membership today at no cost and directed me to the screen and advised me to just accept the upgrade. Prior to doing that I obviously read the message on the card reader and it said the annual coast would be 99.00 dollars a year. I then explained to the employee well that's not really free now is it considering I only pay a 69.00 dollar annual fee. She stammered and stuttered and then tried to explain all the perks that come with the upgraded membership. I obviously declined and stayed with the membership I had for my own personal reasons. I would bet since this happens every time I shop there that there is an incentive for employees to get the most renewals or upgraded memberships they can. The whole place is a hustle. You can't even buy shoes without them trying to sell you their socks. In fact I heard and watched employees training two new employees yesterday on the floor advising them to take socks to the customers when they are trying on shoes or making their decision on what shoes to buy. My daughter and I were just laughing at the training these poor new employees were receiving literally on the floor in front of customers. I get it, it's a business and their trying to sell their products but come on don't try and scam the customer by telling them it's a free upgrade when it's really costing you $30.00 dollars more annually!!

Thanks, Kali!Kali took me on a tour of my shoe options: running shoes intended for walking with stability, cushioning, toe rocker (new to me) and total surprise - toe box that doesn't squish my toes together! Altra Olympus was the winner. A little funny looking with its squared off toe area but going for function over form. Anything to save my back, knees, and toes. I've been wearing very worn out shoes. Anyway, she helped me with several things over the course of about 2 hours (I'm a slow, indecisive shopper who often gets overwhelmed and leaves with nothing) and was informative and extremely patient.

I and my partner came in to find good support shoes. We both don't know much about what we were looking for. Their machine helped a lot with the decision making process. I did have to come back the second time because the machine didn't work the first time. The guy who helped me was very helpful and passionate. He helped me figuring out my size, width and brought out almost 10 pairs of shoes of different styles/needs for me to choose. We walked out happily and were grateful that they stayed late for us.

I recently went looking for a new pair of walking shoes, both for my commute and personal time, and was satisfied with my purchase.I was helped by Christian from store #105, and he helped me through their entire Fit-finder process for shoes & insoles. He gave me good recommendations based on the aspects of a new shoe I was looking for, and I ended up going back to the first shoe he showed me. I only went home with one pair of shoes, but Christian convinced me to try out their VIP program, so I will certainly be back for my next pair of shoes.

Kalli was super Helpful with choosing the best shoes for my feet. So many choices when you come in the store. I'm a runner and let me tell you, after I left the store yesterday with my new shoes my feet has never been happier and more comfortable. I appreciate her help a lot and the time she took to help me find the best comfortable shoes. I highly recommend going to them and you won't regret it. I will definitely be back.
