Rattling Engine after Oil Change (with an admission that too much oil was placed in the vehicle) Continuation........ After listening to him go on and on for a few; I interrupted and asked will you check my car to make sure you at least put enough oil in it? He replied yes drive it around to the side. In my mind, I am like this has to be a joke he's not going to at least test drive it to see what I am talking about or into the bay. I took the vehicle to the first bay, and when the technician pulled the dipstick out, I instantly knew that something was wrong via his facial expression. He waved for Mr. M to come over they began to whisper. Mr. M walked away came back and tested the oil himself when he took the dipstick out I could tell that something was wrong by his facial expression and hasty movement and they began to whisper even more. Mr. M then walked to the driver's window and said he's going to take care of you. The technician asked me to get out of the vehicle because he needed to drive it into the bay and on the lift because my vehicle had too much oil in it and he needed to drain it out. While my vehicle was on the lift, I witnessed them drain almost two quarts of oil or more out of my vehicle. Mr. M then repeatedly said the name of the person who was responsible for overfilling my vehicle. The technician said to me it wasn't me, I would have remembered the headlights I like them. I thanked him and was given the keys to the vehicle. In conclusion before leaving I asked Mr. M if I was good he stated yes it just had to much oil in it. I then said so the noise I'm hearing is the transmission he replied yes I would just take it back to whoever replaced it. I am sure that's what it is. Not once did he or a technician test drive or do a diagnostic on the vehicle nor did they provide any documentation to show that the vehicle had even been brought back either time. Luckily for me I do have my ducks in a row. Please Advise I am seeking to hear from Corporate with a resolution with this matter and my previous issue several months ago where I spent over $1300 in repairs to still have the same issue. May I also add that Mr. M has poor customer service skills (my opinion) he comes across as apathetic like he is annoyed and could care less what the customer is talking about. At one point when he thought I was not listening he said to another customer quote "ION care nun about it, people get mad all the time, I could care less" end quote.

Incredibly unprofessional service! Please go elsewhere for your car needs. I bought my tires online and had a free installation at a garage of my choice. I chose PepBoys. I should've read the reviews... They nearly ruined my new tires and screwed up the wheel alignment because they apparently don't know what uni-directional tires are. I didn't notice right away because I assumed these guys knew what they were doing. A week later, my buddy sees the faulty installation and alerts me. Great. Now I need to go back to Pepboys to get it corrected, taking time out of work. So I call back to make an appointment, and when I explained what they'd done, the guy who answered the phone actually had the audacity to say "Well, why can't your buddy just fix it, hehe?" That pretty much sums up their "service". Needless to say, I will be staying away, and actively not recommending PepBoys San Carlos to anyone.

Appointment's don't mean anything. Show up for scheduled appointment and then wait3 hours before they take your car into the work bay.

If you need your cars serviced for the 5,000 mile interval Pennzoil Platinum synthetic motor oil change, tire rotation, and brake fluid flush in one location, then Pep Boys is your best stop because the parts and labor prices are reasonable and along with the choice of oil filers.

I have a Lyft flex Drive fleet vehicle and I’ve come exclusively here because they do a good job. They are approved by Lyft. Lyft prefers you to use their official Goodyear locations. However, in my experience these Goodyear locations are subpar. This Pep Boys location is super professional get the job done. Make sure you’re safe to get on the road. Typically places hate dealing with Lyft flex. However, this place has been nothing but patient with me to get the job done and is probably the best tire shop I could recommend in the entire Peninsula.

People here are very nice and professional, but you need to call the shop to see if there's an appointment available - don't make one online.

I made an online appointment to have a nail removed from a tire on my car. After I parked by the service bays, I noticed that there was only one mechanic working on the one and only car in the garage. I walked into the waiting area and there were at least seven people sitting in chairs staring at their phones. The one person behind the counter asked me if I had an appointment. I said yes and gave him my name and then he told me that Pep Boys doesn’t make same day appointments. I was confused because their website allowed me to do that. I told him I had a nail in my tire and he said he’d honor the appointment but I would be behind all the other people that were sitting in the waiting area. Considering that there was only one service technician, I didn’t like my chances on getting my car back any time soon. I told him I was going to go somewhere else. He recommended Beltran Tire Service in Redwood City. I was so glad he recommended them because they were amazing!!

As most of other revivers I had bad experience. Very different (3-4x higher) price from what was quoted online. Justification that BMW needs special tools and has very complicated battery replacement process. Guy at reception was also confirming with mechanic on floor he can do such a 'complicated' battery replacement. At that point I just canceled, the replacement, as too many red flags started to pop up (much higher price than original, uncertainty of mechanic if they can do battery replacement, not sure if they have right tools, ...).I ended up replacing battery myself, in ~15 min, I bought new one at O'Reilly Auto Parts and 10 dollar extended wrench, and watched 5 min YouTube video to learn how to do it. I saved hundreds of dollars, and hours of wait time.Anyway I'm sure this guys are ok for some simple battery changes where it takes 30 sec to pop the hud and switch batteries. But my experience was terrible.

If you care about your car and your driving safety, stay away from this place. If you want to have your car fixed instead of being messed up, stay away from this place.Obviously, those guys have been working way much harder to developed their shamelessness instead of their professionality.I came here to install tires for a 2018 Impreza. When I drove the car to the highway, I heard a very loud humming noise coming out somewhere from my car, which was something that has *never* happened. Clearly there was something wrong. The noise was so large that I can feel ear pain. I called them immediately, and scheduled an inspection the next morning. When I went in the second day, they first lied to me, saying there was nothing wrong. I insisted there is a noise, and they agreed with me after a test drive with me sitting in the car. So they started inspection. Later, the staff admitted that one of my rear-wheel bearing is the noise source, and they told me I need to pay an additional ~$400 to fix that, but still denying this is their fault.Clearly, they broke my bearing while tire and rotor installing, very likely due to large torque they added onto the bearing, and ask me to *pay them to make up for their own fault*. I refused, of course. I won't pay them for their fault, and more importantly, I don't trust their honesty, professionality and was worrying they will make the car situation even worse after their second suspicious surgery. If you are looking for honest and professional service, do not come here. I regret for not looking at the reviews before I went to the shop.
