There are many interesting aircraft, aircraft engine and helicopter exhibits here. Many are replicas sometimes at a smaller scale.
I came during the week and aside from the school kids for “camp” it wasn’t crowded.
The collection while interesting doesn’t feel like there’s a good story for why these specific items are displayed. Most exhibits have a plaque describing the item but typically don’t put the item in a broader aviation perspective.
The section about Hiller himself was the most interesting. I was not aware of his exploits as a young entrepreneur and later helicopter innovator.

Great museum but the experience is horrible during the summer. They prioritize the aviation camp for every event which means your child can’t enjoy any events despite being an annual member. I guess they discriminate people based on the total $ they pay. Don’t think we’ll be renewing our membership
Update: Responding to the museum’s comments. I’m talking about the activities you mentioned below. Specifically what made me write the comment was the fact that you reserved the front rows in the bird event to camp participants. My child, who is hard of hearing, had to watch it from the back as a result (we were asked to move back by museum staff)

There is a lot here. I think I went during a school camp because along with lots of airplane artifacts there were lots of kids. Honestly this is a great museum for kids, lots of places to interact and also some big open spaces for kids to sprawl out. Some pretty nifty planes too. A 747 section you can explore and an albatross HU16 which happens to be my favorite plane. It's not a huge museum, but certainly fun to stop by and wander for a bit.

Beautiful layout in the gallery, many interesting aircraft with detailed plaques. Lots of opportunities for exciting interaction like simulators and more (try out Drone Plex). Plus, all the volunteers and employees were super helpful and informative. I really enjoy coming here and I very much recommend. Also, the airport right outside the museum really adds to the experience.

The museum is a great place to pass an hour-ish. The museum is a tiny warehouse and is in desperate need of updating.
I looked up Stanley Hiller, Jr. on my own (after our visit), and was impressed by this pioneer with a passion for aviation, experimentation, and innovation. My immediate thought was that the museum is missing an opportunity to get every visitor excited about their visit. For example, visitors should walk in and see and hear a narrated 1-minute video featuring video clips and stills of Hiller and other museum highlights looping on giant screens in the lobby. There are so many very cool flying things in the museum that are rich with history and history-making! You have to look up as well as around. It's all too easy to walk past many of them without stopping to learn and appreciate.
The warehouse is quiet and the energy low. The gift shop is amazing! Parking is easy unless there is a special event.

Small museum packed with a lot to look at. My favorite thing was in the back of the museum you can stand on the flight line and watch planes take off and land.

When you think a visit to the museum is boring, you might want to reconsider this one. Hiller aviation museum is entertaining and quite fun for both kids and adults. They have lots of planes from the early days, flight stimulator, a real plane for everyone to roam around, and a play area for kiddos to get creative. They even have summer camps for kiddos and a spot to celebrate birthdays!
If you’re still on the fence, a visit to the gift shop (free entrance), might change your minds ?
Parking is spacious and you can’t miss this one because it’s next to the freeway.

I volunteered here. Not sure if I signed a NDA or something. But the camp is kinda cheap now that I actually get to experience with kids. The exhibits are ok and a lot of the planes are not real sadly. Nice councilor’s and staff members (some). I would recommend advance camp but not regular if you have a older child. Went here when I was younger, don’t remember much. Events are cool though. It’s nice for a trip for family but it’s not like you are gonna go there every week or something. I don’t find myself volunteering here again it’s very boring but hours are good (8 hours per day!!).

This place has gone downhill. Staff was rude, unhelpful and unavailable for questions. The air traffic control & engine exhibits were broken. Why charge full price when this museum & it’s exhibits are not being maintained? I brought my fiance here because I had a good visit several years ago. Unfortunately, this place was a disappointment.

What a dismal excuse for an aviation museum this place turned out to be! It is overflowing with local trivia yet utterly devoid of any engaging narrative. It's like someone just threw a bunch of planes in a room and called it a day! And the noise—good heavens! It was as if every child in the vicinity decided to hold a shouting contest simultaneously. As for the exhibits, they scream for context—how these magnificent machines fit into the grand tapestry of aviation is a mystery the museum seems little interested in unravelling. And the cost? It is outrageously high for such a paltry offering. It's nothing short of highway robbery! This isn't a place for the keen minds of teenagers eager to soak in history and engineering; it's a glorified playground catering only to tots blissfully unaware of the sheer boredom their guardians endure. The whole experience is as outdated as the rusting fuselages they dare showcase. For a confined space, one would expect a riveting experience packed with interactive and educational gems, not this uninspiring display. What a colossal disappointment!
