A little TREASURE in the NEIGHBORHOODWent there today and enjoyed my visit. A courteous customer-friendly young man was there who told us he's been open since October 1, 2023 after purchasing the store from the prior owner.Hours: 8:00 am - 9:00 pm dailyLocation: literally in the San Carlos Devonshire residential neighborhood between and among houses and apartments. It's just off San Carlos Ave. but you can't see it from San Carlos Ave.Parking: curbside, free.Market/convenience store: a surprisingly large assortment of:-beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic-snacks: potato chips, candies, small baked goods, etc.-dry and canned foods-toiletries/sundriesThere's even bagged ice!Everything was neatly arranged on the shelves, no dusty expired items. The lighting is brighter than before and plenty of roomin the aisles.Sandwich shop: I ordered a #2 Tuna Salad and a #5 Italian sandwich, both on Soft Sweet rolls (like French bread) and they have other choices too. He made them in the back room and wore gloves, clean and sanitary. They're made to order, not premade, and each sandwich was $13.99Credit cards are accepted.Ice cream shop: in the back room, featuring Mitchell's ice cream of SF. Not just scoops but also shakes, banana splits, sundaes, etc. I'll be back to get some!

Newly revamped, it's clean with a fresh layout, updated sandwich menu, Mitchell's Ice Cream, and many of the old straple categories. Somehow it's missing the prior charm, but a nice owner and great to see it carrying on.

Pushing 67 years old and visited this establishment as a youngster to stock up on beverages prior to hitting the arguello park for an intense round of frisbee in the early seventies. Does my heart good to see this place still exists. Always had a good rappour with the owner. Great memories, thanks DLS

Renovated!! It's so nice now! I remember, just in April, the first time I went, I got a popsicle, it was bad, floppy, expired. And this time when I went on 10/3/23 There was a "Grand opening sign" I got Sharp Cheddar and Parmesan Cheese its, Mango High-chews, and Raspberry Snapple. Not expired, it was great! There's a man, and a i think 2 lady's that work there. There's also a baby that one of the lady's has. The baby's' adorable. There is also a bit of the store with medicine, cooking oil, canned food, basically just essentials! Great store, great service, and great food.

Saw this on a true crime channel. The original owner Shu Ming Tang from Taiwan moved here for a better life only to be murdered in 1993 by Rayna Raymos. Reading the reviews it seems like it wasn't a place that has a lot of money for robbery. My condolences to his family.

Just went to the store, shelves are almost bare. There is one or two of items and so much empty shelving. Not sure if they are planning to close, but pretty much an empty store

I called the store to ask if they had a specific product in stock. Before I could even ask, They asked me where I live. Then they went on to say I’m too far away, to which I replied, “ I have a car, I don’t mind driving to you.” Then they replied saying, “ I’m too far away and we wont help you.” I will never shop at the store. I suggested you don’t either.

Bubble Yum, Pop Rocks and Chico sticks. KC & the Sunshine Band crackling from the AM radio of an El Camino parked out front. This is The Little Store as I experienced it circa 1974 in 4th grade. Groups of Arundel and TL kids in and out all afternoon . My friends and I sharing snacks (as much as our pooled change could afford that day) while sitting on the stairs before our brutal treks up the SC hills home. No cell phones. No rides. Lots of fun memories & great friends. Decades later I’m back in the neighborhood and while much has changed, the Little Store hasn’t (it even smells the same). Still friendly owners, and still a convenient stop when driving home or on neighborhood walks for sweet treats, a six pack, or essentials. And for many of us nostalgic touchstone.
