excellent service! Joshua Green - Personal Banker - very polite, smart, he quickly had helped us. Everybody were very helpful and friendly (including their management). I could not even compare the service with Stonestown SF branch.

I started to do some banking at this location recently, and the workers here have been very professional and great to work with. Everyone I worked with have been extremely helpful. I was especially impressed when I recently worked with Spencer Tan Meneses. He was able to help me with a banking process when I visited the branch. Then, a few days later, I called back to verify something, and he remembered who I was and could answer my question right away without looking anything up. I was very impressed, and professionalism and knowledge made a big company have more of a personal feel, which is definitely rare these days.

The service from this location is a mixed bag. 9 out of 10 times I stopped by for the past two years was below average. Vanessa, however, was great. She is one of few that consistently does a good job. She practiced active listening, fully understood customer's needs, worked efficiently and accurately, and patiently answered questions. She also speaks in an adequate pace that I could understand and follow. Matthew, on the other hand, was average. When counting cash, he had so many cashes on his desk, got unorganized, spoke too fast and too loudly, which I could not follow 50% of time. He also lost tracked on the amount of unfitted paper currency I gave back to exchange for better currency bills and asked me again. Taking too long to solve the very last piece of currency exchange. When they couldn't find other paper currency that meets the requirement, instead of offering alternatives or tried to look into other inventories from another teller, they just said that's all they've got. Neither a creative problem solver nor able to store/stock enough cash currency for exchanges. Even though they all wear a tag saying, "I am customer obsessed" but service quality is inconsistent. The bank is clean.I go there for convenience, but don't enjoy my experience there 90% of time, except the interaction with Vanessa, recently. That's more in line with standard Bank teller experiences.

They look for every reason not to give you customer service. I would bank somewhere else, if that's important to you.

I went in to withdraw money at around 1:30pm today. I was told to wait 5 minutes until another teller came back from lunch because the one working teller did not have enough cash. Not a problem... except that they forgot about me. About 5-7 people came in and were taken care of while the three people now working (two women behind the counter and one man in front) looked at me at then looked away. When I finally told them how long I was waiting, they weren't apologetic. It was 30 minutes until I finally had cash in hand. To top it all off, they were incredibly slow. If they had told me how long they would be, I would have gotten lunch too. I left hungry and disappointed :(.

I bank here for years, at one time a great bank... the people are fine and very nice. So.e of the tellers have moved on and it started going down hill with longer lines. The main office have change certain policies for example you can't make a payment for a credit card with cash. Later on they lowered my credit card limits with out my approval or sent a knowledge letter in doing so. I asked them i want it where the limits were and it was denied. After awhile going in and asking them to raise it which again denied, the manager of Redwood city basically said that I can take my business to a different bank, which I did. I still have the account its only use for emergency only. The bottom of the barrel. I deal with 3 other banks and there happy I'm doing more business with them. 2 star for the bank and a 0 for credit department.

A great bank at one time, I banked here for 20 plus years. I'm not sure what really happened one day they changed there policies on everything (wont take cash to make payments on credit card) I again had problems with the credit dept, A very nonworking corporation. It's obvious that the attitude has come to a point of them washing there hands from the situation and stop batting for the customer and there needs.I had the last couple of years different situations had happened for a while decided I'm closing my accounts and wiping my hands from them. I went next door opened accounts and I got a cash bonus and they opened me with open arms and did everything I wanted.

After the Supervisor Citibank left, Sonny the manager was so rude, he yelled at me to sign on the machine without explaining what I'm getting for. He was mad, he said I'm blocking the other customers. Actually either they have a poor system or resources, it took an hour to figure it out that they can just print the paper out so customer can sign on the paper and they can serve next customers. Btw they only have ONE (1) teller & ONE (1) computer working. BofA has Three (3) tellers and Three (3) computers working. The story started from I was going to close my CD (Certificate Deposit) before it's mature. They didn't explain it to me when I first opened the CD, that I will get Penalty if I withdraw it before the due date and how much the Penalty is. They just laughed at me when I told them that. But if they're so smart, they have to know how to calculate the interest rate but they don't! They just depend on whatever number on computer! The staffs there are not friendly, need more training how to handle clients, that's why the bank is quiet and I don't like the atmosphere either.

This would be a one star, but I'm trying to be charitable. I got a call from Citibank saying I needed to provide some updated documents for an old account. In order to do so, I needed to make an appointment at my local branch. Which I've been trying to do. Repeatedly. For what seems like forever. No matter when I call the local branch, I always end up diverted to the corporate help line as apparently "all agents at that branch are busy assisting other customers." I find that hard to believe that is always the case, or that I happen to always call when they're busy despite calling multiple times at different times of day. I can't get helped unless I make an appointment, but I can't make an appointment without calling, but when I call I can't make an appointment. You understand my frustration...

Citibank used to be good 20 years ago, but has devolved into a seething pit of incompetence on every level -- even if you are a Citigold client. Don't plan on being able to reach anyone on the phone in customer service in under ten minutes. Their voice prompt system is designed to deflect and avoid giving you to a real human -- even for supposedly top-tier Citigold relationships. And when you do reach someone, there's a good chance you'll know more about banking than they will. You could be forgiven for concluding that Citi hires repurposed circus gorillas that only know how to grunt randomly into a phone. Also, their interest rates are terrible even for large-balance customers. Keeping your hard-earned money in a Citi savings account is like confining your children in an iron cage without heat or light. It will wither and die in there when it could be flourishing in more nurturing environs -- particularly these days with interest rates rising again. Changing banking relationships is annoying, but I've moved my entire relationship away because of how consistently poor every aspect of Citi's service has been over the past couple years. For far too long, I kept waiting and hoping to see an improvement, telling myself that my poor experience was an aberration that would surely be corrected next time... but no! The next time is just as bad! Other than getting a free cup of coffee when visiting a physical branch, I cannot recall even one positive banking experience with Citi in recent memory. Their online web interface was great 20 years ago. Now it's a dysfunctional steaming pile of outdated and confusing obsolescence. One example: bill pay names can only be something like 8 or 10 characters long, all caps, and you can't use a lot of common punctuation symbols. A lot of website links are broken or lead to confusing and circular behaviors. Another example: after sending a wire or checking your credit card balance, you literally cannot navigate back to the main website. And various user interface features and functions are strewn all over the place as if by an angry child. A third one: my Citi relationship manager promised me a higher interest rate and told me to go into the local branch to fill out the paperwork, and when I got there I found out he hadn't spoken with them and nobody knew what he was talking about. Wasted trip, plus a good helping of industrial-grade incompetence from the window teller all the way up to the branch manager. Do yourself a favor and compare options at some of the other banks, credit unions, and brokerage firms around. There is nothing Citi offers -- nothing! -- that most other banks don't do better. Much better! I now bank with another large household-word financial organization (actually not a bank although they partner with one for checking accounts etc.) and they give me customer service that is light years better -- imagine calling and speaking to a real person within seconds and that person isn't a circus ape! -- and pay me much higher interest rates on my savings to boot. Plus they have a better web interface, better phone app, better online bill payment features, rebate all my ATM fees for any ATM anywhere, and don't charge for standard banking services like wire transfers. And just like Citi, they don't charge me any fees for any of it. Holy smokes that rant felt good. It was several years in the making. I honestly cannot believe I didn't move to another bank sooner. It's like waking up one day and being free of an abusive relationship.

Tellers are great but the investment people are non existent. Sorry but I ran about 1 million dollars through this branch and it was starting to feel like Wells Fargo with the questions they asked. Last visit the manager out right lied about federal regulations. My wife is a lawyer in the financial sector so I know the laws very clearly. Even the folks at corporate could not cite the law but they responded by saying it was the law, and I said which law and he said that's what "they" tell me. Who are they? No answer. What law I asked, "I am not a lawyer, " was the response. Been three years and that's long enough. Time to move on.
