I am 38 and have always hated the idea of working out. I also have suffered from severe anxiety my whole life. I decided to do the 6 week challenge and I can't believe I'm saying this but within the first week it changed my life. I haven't had an anxiety attack at all for the last month and SO MANY other things are happening (job offers, money randomly coming in, old friends contacting me). This place is magic. From someone that didn't believe in this shit before I'm telling you it's real. Mike and Jess (trainers) really care about you and help you. I can't believe it took me so long to do this. The past is the past. Let the dead bury the dead. Now is the only time that exists. I am finally becoming the person I have always wanted.to be. THANK YOU!

Advanced has a place for everyone. This gym gave our current high schooler fast results! They offer small group training with the proper equipment/recommendations. Our teen has been part of this amazing gym for 2+ years and its been a fantastic experience!

Best gym in the Bay Area. Have tried them all from Equinox to 24 Hour Fitness. I was testing out a bunch of studios years ago on Class Pass. I randomly stopped by Advanced and was blown away. Have been a member since 2015. All the trainers are amazing, great facilities and the community is by far the best part of the gym. Also the place is exceptionally well run by the owners.

I cannot express enough how much gratitude and love I have for Advanced!Having hit a milestone birthday last year, I decided to invest in myself and commit to personal training. By no means was I a stranger to fitness (always running, doing Pilates, and frequenting studios like Barry's and Soul Cycle), but I was ready to take it to the next level, especially with weight training, as I was a complete novice.I was referred to Advanced through my clients and from the moment I met owners, Mike and Keahn, I was excited to get started. The program, along with their approach and technique, proves to be inventive and challenging - like nothing I've ever experienced before. I never leave a session unsatisfied, rather I feel like the athlete I've always wanted to be. Additionally, they created a nutrition plan to further help me reach my goals, which has been most beneficial as I've always struggled with that part.I truly treasure my sessions with Mike, Keahn and Emma as they always push me out of my comfort zone to do better and be better. The Advanced community consists of a great group of friendly people of all fitness levels. There is a place for everyone, whether you're opting for personal training, bootcamp or CrossFit.As I approach month 8 of training, I've seen such great results. I'm stronger, leaner, happier and most importantly, confident (all while forming the best habits of my life). Thank you Team Advanced!

10/10 would recommend this gym to everyone (at any physical level - I'd consider myself a beginner). My husband and I have been taking the Bootcamp and Strength/Tone class and absolutely love it. They kick my butt every time, but I leave feeling stronger and honestly, just happier. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't intimidated/nervous the first time I walked in, but everyone was so encouraging and welcoming! The Trainers/Instructors know you by name and challenge you in all the right ways. Each class is very different which makes working out more fun and less monotonous. I've even brought my friends to the bootcamp classes. If you're not ready to fully commit they offer a trial and are also on Class Pass.

This gym is truly transformational. I started going when I was still in high school in their youth class. When I was in college I did both classes as well as personal training which helped me be able to perform in a D1A sport. My dad started going to the gym about 5 years ago as well. He has lost 40 pounds and loves it just as much. The classes are hard to start, but give it a month and you'll start to see some pretty lifechanging progress. This gym is a community and it's just so much fun!

I had the pleasure of belonging to Advanced Sports Performance for 1 year, I only left as we relocated overseas and to say I miss this place is an understatement. I've belonged to a LOT of gyms over my time and this place is at the top. The coaches are knowledgeable, caring, inspiring and fun. The atmosphere of the gym is not pretentious, not intimidating, its just a fun place to be whether your an intermediate or advanced gym goer. I highly recommend it. Adios from Dubai!

Great gym. Owner is a little strange and I had to crawl to the bathroom after my first class. Overall not bad.

Great community, Great coaches, and Great space. ASP has a huge facility with all the equipment you need to get stronger. Love the huge turf field inside. The coaches are the best. They have a great understanding of programming and take injury prevention seriously. They also facilitate a really close-knit community that's a ton of fun to be a part of. There are fun events throughout the year for members--annual fitness competitions, Christmas potlucks, etc... My personal favorite are the group classes, but they also offer 1-on-1 coaching/training if you want a little more personalized programming and goal-setting as well as youth athlete strength/conditioning to improve performance and decrease injury risk for the kiddos. They also have onsite Physical Therapy services (called Stronger PT) and members get discounted rates.

I have really missed this place, and I had my first Post-COVID bootcamp class today after finally getting vaccinated. I'm really excited to be back. Prior to discovering Advanced 3+ years ago, I had tried equinox, cross fit, working out at home, apps, and a couple of other fitness options. Nothing ever stuck for me for various reasons, or I found it difficult to remain consistent in my routine. Then I signed up for the bootcamp class at Advanced (they also offer a cross fit style class). I'm not going to lie - the first class I took was tough. But I kept going back 2-3 times a week, and my fitness level significantly improved - I found that I had a lot more energy, I wasn't getting injured as much (I used to do the typical thing where I would take some time off from working out and then overdo it the first time back), and I was happier. There are a few things in particular that make this gym a really great experience for me: 1. The owners and coaches feel like family and they treat people like family - they try to push you that extra amount, while not overdoing it. They cheer you on and they monitor your form. Everyone is on a first-name basis. Having that kind of support and camaraderie makes a big difference for me. 2. I really like the facility - it's a large open field house-style facility. There's plenty of room to spread out unlike some of today's new workout studios. And there's an abundance of equipment that allows for diverse workouts to keep things fresh and different. Often times, the coaches open the garage doors of the gym to allow fresh air into the facility. 3. The bootcamp classes are extremely well-rounded and give you a very balanced workout. Lack of muscular balance has been a key cause of injuries for me (one muscle over-compensating for weaker muscles that don't get exercised as much). The thoughtful class plans at Advanced emphasize balance. The movements are generally lower impact with a focus on reps, and they can be tailored to a range of capabilities (and the coaches will help you modify them if needed or desired). 4. The people and the social atmosphere are really awesome. I'm somewhat introverted, and so seeing the same people at classes makes this a more enjoyable social experience for me than going to studio classes or a regular gym where I just try to avoid people. And seeing the same people also helps me with accountability. I'd also note that there's a nice diversity in the bootcamp classes - there's typically an even mix of women and men, and I have been in classes where there's probably a 40+ year age range among participants. If you're trying to improve (or regain) your fitness level after the past 15 months, and you're looking for something that makes it easier to be more consistent and accountable (in a fun social environment), try our this place. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. A quick note on COVID protocols for the bootcamp class (May 2021): They open the doors to the gym ~10 minutes before class. Everyone enters with a mask on. The coaches take each person's temperature as they check in. Each person grabs their own "rectangle" taped out on the turf of the gym, and grabs the needed equipment for the day - this allows for social distancing. You can take off your mask when you're in your rectangle (or not - your call). At the end of class, each person receives her/his own bottle of disinfectant spray and a clean towel to wipe down all of the equipment. Everyone seemed to be pretty diligent with these protocols.
