“Had a great time working with Omar on frame and mat selection for two pieces. One was an original work by me and he was very respectful and efficient with showing me options and advising on the best presentation. He reframed a work already matted with a great simple frame after it broke on me in a move. Had just the best time and hope to get more works framed there!”

“An excellent source for graphic novels for school age kids, especially if you want more diversity than the typical marvel or DC approach. When I found out my 1st grader was trans, this store helped me find age appropriate books that they could see themselves in. And they in turn learned stories about brown kids, black kids, and immigrants from other graphic novels there that I would never have known existed. Staff are excellent and know their stock.”

“The glass blowing class was a lot of fun! We made the large pumpkin, and it came out great!
The instructor leads you through the process, so you just have to follow directions. It was also cool to watch other people work on theirs. Only one project gets worked on at a time, so there may be some waiting.”

“I've come in here twice and the owner is super nice and informative. If you're looking for lots of baby tropical plants at a fair price she has a ton of them. Her selection beyond that is also great and the vibe is also really cozy. If you like plants and or are interested, definitely worth the drive if you're in SF/Peninsula :)”

“Pacifica is very lucky to have the Sanchez Art Center! There are a lot of talented artists in and around Pacifica. The Art Center has free admission on weekends when they have exhibitions on, and they have multiple exhibits per year. Typically there are three exhibits at a time from different local groups or artists. Sanchez is the "home" gallery of the Art Guild of Pacifica, which hosts several exhibits per year there. Sanchez Art Center also has rental studios for artists, and hosts open studios once or twice a year.”

“I love this place!

The people who work here are so nice and the owner is incredibly kind.

The studio is clean, organized and filled with natural light, which I love. It's always great energy in the studio and I've learned a ton since I've joined. I've taken both the 1:1 lessons and the classes here and I would recommend both.

Everyone is super helpful and excited about their craft. I couldn't picture a better place to be a beginner.”

“Beautiful neighborhood art gallery that’s been going for decades. They mostly show paintings but there’s a wide variety of work. It’s available for rental for events and includes lots of permanent murals inside and out in the brick backyard. Classic San Francisco gem.”

“We asked Andra Norris Gallery to use their space for a cocktail party. They were quick to respond, send over an invoice, and make sure we were set up and ready to go. Once we arrived, Andra and her staff offered to help us get set up and graciously offered their trash cans - this was not their first event. They had music playing and the space created a wonderful ambiance. Guests were so happy to be in the space and it uplifted the whole energy of the event. Amazing staff, art, and space and incredibly affordable. Thank you to Andra and her staff for a wondering evening!”

“I love this gallery! An intimate experience of local Bay Area artists with a lot of variety in style. I also had a wonderful experience of hosting a summer solstice event here that had a great turnout, offering a tea ceremony and somatic movement session. The space is very eclectic so it is ideal to revisit many times and see it transform depending on the show or event.”

“Be sure to stop by Lola's next time you are in Noe. She has the nicest selection of gifts, clothing and accessories. I just got a beautiful coral scarf here for a trip yesterday and can't wait to wear it! Have also purchased a wide variety of other items here over the last few years such as gloves, hair clips, aprons, kitchen towels and more. I always enjoy great quality and service from Lola and her lovely team. Don't forget to ask about her custom clothing as well -- such a talented seamstress and artist!”

“We were gifted a pottery session with Marieke for our anniversary and had a blast! Her studio is an easy BART ride from our home in the East Bay. All attendees were beginners, like us. Marieke began with a brief history of her home, as well as of her basement studio and the mystery of the "X?X" club that used to meet there. She demonstrated how to use the pottery wheel, and we dove in! Everything we needed was already provided for us, and Marieke was attentive to our needs. She was extremely patient in offering advice and stepping in, if desired. My husband and I each made two pieces and selected the glaze for each one. We are excited that we will be returning to the studio in a few weeks to pick up the finished products. Marieke was very organized and professional in her approach to her business. (Oh, and the bonus is being in the vibrant Mission District, with no shortage of things to see and places to eat!) Highest recommendations!”

“This is a cool and trendy place to get wine and drinks. It's kind of a comfortable place that is like a lounge and it is more quiet and cozy then loud. It can accommodate late groups or it is good to go out with friends or on a date. I went with some girl friends and we all got a glass of wine. The ambience here is dimly lit and the service is good.”

“Loved my experience taking the intro to handbuilding and wheel throwing series classes at artillery! The studio is very beautiful, and all of the instructors are very knowledgeable on various ceramic techniques and the studio puts a lot of emphasis on sustainability and environmental awareness when working with the clay.”

“This is a sweet gallery in the Sunset that shows a variety of work, including work of emerging artists. The artwork is affordable for the average buyer and great for those who appreciate original art. Gallery owner is charming and knowledgeable, and also an artist. Openings are upbeat and fun, not at all stuffy.”

“Adobe is best. For the past three years I have consistently come to adobe to hang out and connect with my community. There is always a good book, a good convo or good time in general whenever I pull up to this bookstore. Art shows are always interesting and music events bring a cool crowd. Stoked to witness the beauty that is adobe books and it community it cultivates there. Come check it out and be curious of what it can offer you”

“I love everything about this shop! The staff is so welcoming and helpful, and it's the perfect place to buy gifts (especially for myself). They have a wide variety of products, and most of them are from other small businesses (some of which are local). I couldn't recommend this place enough!”

“I was amazed to find out that this Gallery have been in existence for over 100 years! They have been supporting Women Artists for that long and back in the day actually gave Frida Kahlo her first American exhibition. Many other top women Artists like Ruth Asawa, Dorr Bothwell, Imogen Cunningham, Eleanor Dickenson, Claire Falkenstein, Emmy Lou Packard, Dorothy Winslade, and Ruth Bernhard have been involved with supporting and maintaining this incredible organization. It maintains its commitment and wonderful support for its women artist today. They have monthly openings that are always packed with interesting people and art. They often even have live music. Now I can't imagine not knowing about this.”

“San Fran Art Book Fair was zany, bohemian, eye popping , eye opener; perhaps because I am so mainstream and bourgeois; I was able to be calm and move on.
Liked the friendly staff, artists were great in opening up about their work.”

“Great art gallery located on a corner in the mission. The top level is bright with a lot of natural light shining through the windows. Lots of art that I had never seen before and I found to be really exquisite. They have a downstairs basement level with additional art pieces and ones that you could browse through wrapped individually. Recognized one artist where I had seen their work in DTLA before and it was nice to see their work on other formats. Would recommend dropping in if you enjoy admiring art. :] guy on staff was also really kind. I would say that there are some affordable pieces here and interesting perspectives.”
