there’s no order at ALL?if you’re picking up books plan on waiting 30 min at least. i went to pick up books and ended up standing around for 30 min. there’s no way to tell when your next after you put in your name for the queue, not even a text. please at least give a notification or have the materials ready??? i saw employees running around looking for books for the people who were waiting like?? even crafton has a better system than them and they’re a sister school??

Would give this zero stars if I could. I have been going here a year now and they NEVER answer their phones. I have even called them while walking in just to see employees standing around, talking, with no customers around.

Chaotic and not user friendly. Technology has replaced the customer service or welcoming ambience.
Books are organized by the author's names rather than subjects.

My experience at the bookstore was great. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Always greeted when entered store has an abundance of books and merchandise for the school. Lots of snacks as well with lots of variety. The assistant store manager was a great lady who helped immensely and was a very nice lady. She went above and beyond to make sure my problem with my textbook was resolved.

My recent visit to the San Bernardino Valley College Bookstore was, to put it bluntly, less than satisfactory. As a student excited to gather materials for the upcoming semester, I was met with an atmosphere of distrust and apprehension that left me feeling unwelcome and frustrated. From the moment I entered the store, I could feel the weight of watchful eyes upon me. The security presence was overwhelming, and the staff’s vigilance bordered on invasive. I understand the importance of loss prevention in retail settings, but there is a fine line between ensuring security and treating customers as potential criminals—and this bookstore has sadly crossed it.The store layout did nothing to alleviate this oppressive atmosphere. Narrow aisles and crowded displays made it difficult to move around without attracting undue attention, creating a sense of claustrophobia and unease. I felt pressured to make my selections quickly and leave, rather than taking the time to explore and enjoy the shopping experience. The checkout process was equally disheartening. I was subjected to a meticulous examination of my belongings, a practice that seemed to be standard procedure rather than a response to any particular suspicion. This mandatory bag check left me feeling violated and distrusted, a sentiment that was only heightened by the staff’s cold and impersonal demeanor throughout the transaction. In conclusion, the San Bernardino Valley College Bookstore has unfortunately created an environment that is unwelcoming and hostile, treating its patrons more like potential criminals than valued customers. While the store may offer a wide selection of textbooks and college merchandise, the overall customer experience is severely marred by the pervasive atmosphere of surveillance and suspicion. Students and faculty alike deserve a bookstore that fosters a sense of community and trust, and it is my sincere hope that the management of this establishment will take steps to rectify these issues and create a more welcoming space for all.
