Stater Bros assistant manager, Zack, and his staff at the 40th street location in San Bernardino were helpful and friendly. I recently needed 100 brown grocery bags for a craft for the kindergarteners at one of our schools, and was told by another grocery store (not a Staters) that I would need to contact their corporate office. I then called Staters on 40th, and Zack said he would be able to help me out, no problem. When I came into the store his security guard, checker, and grocery bagger were all very friendly and eager to help. I appreciate the positivity and professionalism of the Staters Bros staff on 40th in San Bernardino, thank you!

My experience at Stater Bros. was so aggravated my experience was with a cashier was really delightful. I had two ice creams, one cookies and cream another caramel delight. Her incompetent worker was bagging my items when she said here you go, ma'am, handing me my bag of ice cream I am a male I may look young, but I am not that young as she probably thought. I am not a man I am for sure a male. I am really upset about this experience I am really traumatized this is not the first time I have been disrespected at this Stater Bros..

Usually very friendly and helpful. It was Thursday at 4pm - not busy at all. The meat department only had 1 pack of tenderized cube steak in the display. I asked the meat department guy to make some more - I saw 3 guys working in the department with no line of people. He said they were out and no one could make any more - very strange for Stater Bros - I only go there for their full service meat counter - maybe that's changing.

Stater bros should consider closing for business. I had a very important bill due today I walked into this particular stater bros got one hundred dollars out. Got home realized my wallet was gone. I lost it! I immediately called stater bros spoke with some j*** who swore up and down my wallet wasn't there. I physically went back asked the same manager who had cashed me out she swore I didn't leave my wallet. This was now two white shirt key carrying managers who swore my wallet wasn't there. Devastated I started frantically canceling cards, calling the banks, freezing Accounts. I couldn't pay my bill I got the $100. Cash out for. All the while me having a nagging suspicion stater bros employees were bullshiting. I was fckn right. I called over 10 hours later talked with someone who took the time to really check and guess what my wallet was in the store...thanks a lot stater bros for the financial mess you caused me because of your useless management team...Yall can take my money you money hungry vultures but you will never have my respect as father and head of my household.Thank you no thank you for that generic cookie cutter regretful response you can keep it. I've already spoken with your corporate office and can clearly understand why your stores are such s**** If corporate goons don't care how do they expect the lower echelons don't care. I don't need a phony, fits all type of apology or response. I'm asking for simple respect for the people who keep yall in business

7pm on a Tuesday and the cheese and meat section of the deli is closed. First world problems, I know. But it's ridiculous that this store is allowed to make their own rules. If it was 10 minutes before closing I get it. Even an hour.

This Stater bros is insane . They don't follow any of the rules as the others and it is beyond confusing. Last night i went into shop and they close early due to the holiday. I thought it was really nice for the employees since they're open holidays. I arrived around 8. At 830 they made an announcement they were closing . The display case in front of the milk box had sheets pulleddown over it , you couldn't shop the display. I saw customers uncovering it to try and see if they can get a platter . Also the service deli ALWAYS has parchment paper on all the food with the lights off but the bakery and meat department will be willing to help you and look open like the store . The service deli won't help you after 730 which is an inconvenience for dinner since it's a dinner department. When we left around 845 there was someone at the door not allowing customers in to shop . They close at 9. During Thanksgiving and Christmas it was crazy how early the deli and store shut down , yet that's not what they advertise. I ended up taking the extra drive to Ralph's on University one night and it was nice ! I was afraid to risk my time and stop at the Stater Bros on Kendall and Ralph's did not disappoint. Full service everything . I actually shopped there this year for my last minute stocking stuffer candies . Didn't want to risk Staters shooing me away lol.

I am EXTREMELY offended by my most recent visit to this store. When I asked for help finding things, every employee rolled their eyes. At checkout I asked for a 20 lb bag of ice. The cashier, instead of being even close to polite, huffed and said "We haven't had 20 lb bags in forever." That was it. Didn't offer any more info. I had to ask what sizes they had. Super unhelpful. Then I asked politely for help to my car. The whole way to my car the employees who were "helping" were complaining to each other about how they, and this is a direct quote, "ALWAYS GET STUCK HELPING LAZY CUSTOMERS." I have back problems and have a hard time lifting heavy items. I am NOT lazy. What I AM is pissed off! The unprovoked rudeness and disrespect should be embarrassing to the store and the company. 10 years ago I wouldn't believe you if you told me Stater Bros service would ever be this bad. You've always been the best grocery store in town, but right now driving further to shop somewhere else is seeming really appealing. Very disappointed and let down.

Pretty good selection, although the canned dog food is still in very short supply with very few choices. The employees were nice today, and I'd like to salute Malachi who's a real go-getter and seems like a great employee. Keep up the good work!
