We staying in San Rafael for the winter and needed to get our dog Sampson to a vet and chose San Anselmo Animal Hospital. They were wonderful. Very service oriented and caring. We highly recommend them!

Maybe new owner provides vet services without hidden costs Dr Landman’s surgical skills were great, however, with subsequent services over the next couple of years treatments were misaligned and labs were misdiagnosed costs exceedingly became more expensive with each visit-I witnessed more than a couple of clients become as bewildered and unhappy as I was by the extra costs incurred from dental extractions seems Dr Landman made her money extracting more canine teeth than she quoted on her estimate-and without a way to prove she was overzealous and extracted healthy teeth not included in the estimate quote just had to pay more than $400 in extra charges-in hindsight I should have requested to be given the teeth

This business has changed hands twice in recent years with Dr. Erteman retiring and Dr. Landman relocating. It is no longer the high quality veterinary facility it once was. The current veterinarian Dr. Anderson was unable to diagnose and treat my dogs troubling worm problem even though we provided multiple live samples, photos and video. Just a few days later with still no worm diagnosis, our dog experienced severe unexplained head and neck swelling. After an awful night time visit to Pet Emergency in San Rafael, our dog spent the day in Dr. Anderson's care with no improvement. While in this crisis, Dr. Anderson thought it was a good idea to administer a dewormer without speaking to us. Ultimately our dog passed away later that night after another horrible emergency run to Per Emergency. I have no idea if the worms, the dewormer or something else caused her death. I do know that Dr. Anderson was unable to stop it and unable to explain what it was or why it was happening.

After never hearing from the vet for any kind of care or follow up they refused to fill her food Rx that THEY put her on. No notice, no warning, no "this is the last refill then we need to see her" nope- just leverage to get more money. Dogs out of food and likely to go through a very uncomfortable situation? Too bad- the vet needs money and they have no problem holding your dogs health as leverage so she can get her ANNUAL CHECKUP. Absolutely NO reason they can't refill and give us time to set up an appointment and take her there NOPE. Tell me- is there some DANGER in her having her prescribed food for another month? No there's not- so guess what that leaves ONE motive. GREED. You should be ashamed honestly how completely tacky and awful. Find another sucker we're done

I have been going to San Anselmo Animal Hospital since my puppy was 8 weeks old and I have to say that I love Dr. Anderson and the staff. Everybody is super nice and really respectful of helping Simba overcome his nervousness at the vet by being super patient.
