Went into the Salinas branch and opened an account. the people there were very friendly. Brian and Edna were very helpful and the bank manager David came over to introduce himself. Very helpful people, personally based on that experience , I would recommend Monterey credit union.

I wish I could give them less stars.Where do I even begin?I wanted to open any additional checking account. They WILL NOT open a 2nd checking over the phone.Ok, annoying but not the end of the world. So I take time off work and drive to the location. They are NOT open on the weekends and close at 5, so this was my only option.I make it to the branch only to be told that they WILL NOT open a 2nd account for me because NO ONE is available to do it. Apparently they need a loan officer to do this.TldrStay away, worst credit union I've ever had.I'll be leaving ASAP.

I was charged 2 overdraft fees in 2 days for the same business in shape gym.plus a $ 8.00 return fee $29.00 × 2 = $58.00 +$8 ..All because m.c.u. Monterey didn't do as I asked in January 2023..to block them to have access to debit card.This is Feb..2023 Today 2 reps. Said they are legit charges..M.C.u. Monterey bad business....r

Terrible customer service I've been banking with mcu for over 3years every time I try to get money out of my account it's an argument and if you want more than one thousand you have to wait a week to get your own money the only reason I still use them is i did get good rate on my car loan but it was through the Monterey branch I wont ever go into the Salinas branch again there so rude

Horrible/disgusting place to refinance your car. I got my vehicle totaled and they did not want to accept the insurance check for about 1-2 weeks so my balance kept going up and then the check didn’t cover the full amount because they procrastinated.

Horrible company. Don't bother giving them any of your money or your business. I had an account for around 3 months and they never bothered to give me a debit card. I came in after a month to see why I hadn't received the card then they said they resolved the issue. 2 months later still no card and went to close my account with them and they let me know the card had never been ordered. Big waste of time dealing with these people. Also they didn't bother to tell me that they have $25 charge for closing the account before 6 months so they basically stole $25 dollars from me. You have been warned.

Worst customer service in Salinas. The loan department treat the customer as if they are doing them favors. It is like they are forced to work! I think they need to be replaced !! Sham on them! I don’t know how they got hired there

Terrible service, I don’t recommend anyone to come here. My dog could’ve done a better job at this. They try speak just in English even though they speak Spanish as well. You don’t have to sign anything you don’t want.

Horrible service, had a charge of $29 to my account that I never authorized and said it wasn’t there problem. Doesn’t work with the customer. Not worth the time.
