I've been with Golden One for years, Great bank if you need to handle banking online or if you need to speak to a teller by phone. Always great service and I would give five stars to that area. Today I went into this bank to deposit my payroll check, since I've been depositing my checks for YEARS and today, I'm reminded why I don't walk into a physical bank in Gilroy (closed now) or Salinas, but the condescending comments took a toll on me today. 1. Yes, I know I can deposit my checks via ATM or Mobile App. I freely chose not to and freely wanted come in person to handle my banking needs. 2. No one has ever told me I need to keep more money in the account before. 3. I have no control over my employer’s banking practices and I shouldn't have to endure comments regarding my employer’s ability to provide direct deposit. That is at the discretion of my employer. I feel so reduced as a customer. I'm still shaking my head asking my coworker if they have this much issue with their payroll checks and their banks, and the answer is no. Just to let you know, I have shared my experience with my employer and your "recommendations", I will try to keep more money in my account, even though I provide for my son in college and I will try using the ATM when I need to deposit cash even if I don't feel safe doing so. Thank you again.

Usually a bit of a line when I got to go in. I think I usually see two tellers. I recommend keeping any receipts for payments made. Staff is friendly and efficient. No complaints from me.

My parents had open up a Credit Union account for me when I had a newspaper route ever since then I've been doing business with Golden 1 Credit Union in Salinas California. I've always received great customer service Thank you Martha Raboga & your staff Y'all are doing a job well done.....???????

You need to update your website. I spent an hour on the phone waiting to talk to someone to ask what I need to bring to change my legal name. After no one was available, I decided to go in person. After a 30 min drive to my closest branch and a 30 min wait I was told I can only do this with an updated drivers license. So now I've wasted almost 3 hours and $15 in gas because your website says the official court documents are enough. Luckily for me I get to do it all over again when I get my updated ID- seriously get it together and update your website Golden One, gas prices are too high to have people driving in for nothing! If you fix your website I'll remove this review, but until then I think it's helpful for people to know this info

This is the only atm and branch in monterey county and it is not convenient. The people are nice and usually very helpful but too often the atm isn't working or or won't accept my cash deposits. I live 18 miles away and this is very stressful. I like banking at a credit union but I maybe looking for a different bank very soon.

Golden 1 Credit Union, Salinas Ca. is an absolute God send! Regardless of my financial status, I'm treated with the utmost respect. I feel classy!NO MISCELLANEOUS OR HIDDEN FEES EVER!!! UH YAY!I'm notified immediately on every questionable transaction, anywhere in the world. When fraud does occur, cards blocked, account flagged & I'm contacted personally, with utmost kindness & patience! WHO DOES THAT?In my opinion, NO OTHER COMPARES! ijs

During these hard times, I really appreciate tellers’ work and efficient service. This Golden 1’s representatives are very kind. The lines here are also short, and this credit union provided me with a notary service that I needed.

Bad customer service, applied for a loan, got approved was giving an appointment time to finalize paperwork, took time off of work for the appointment and banker decides to take lunch at our scheduled appointment time. Was told if I could wait an hour smh Banker never even called back to reschedule or apologize.

Love my bank! Been a member for almost 20 years! Never a long line and the tellers have been amazing. Would never change to a big bank plus I can use any credit union or 7-11 atm for free.
