Ignore any of the positive reviews about this place, they are most likely generated on behalf of paid reviewers. This place was the worst. We arrived at a completely reasonable early evening hour, there was literally no one working there. I could have gone behind their desk and done whatever I liked, literally no one was there. Finally after half hour of waiting someone showed up and checked us in. Customer service said they'd give us a gift card via email, been 2 days as of this review, no gift card to be found. The door to the inside room of our suite was locked, again, no one showed up to get it open, I had to jimmy it myself with a key card. The shower handle literally spun around, no water, finally got it to work by pushing on it really hard and spinning it at same time. Obviously no one checked the room for working bits before they assigned it to us. When we left in the morning, again, no one working to be found. Lest anyone think this is a fluke, the one lady who checked us in said the entire 3rd floor was shut down, no rooms available, no reason given or perhaps even known. My guess is they are skimping on staff due to budgetary reasons, maybe caused by their inability to provide any sort of positive hotel stay experience. I used best western here about 5-10 years ago in a completely different salinas location, it was fine. They probably shut it down to open this location, appears they have been going downhill ever since. Last but not least, breakfast was a joke, literally no one was there, just some yogurt containers, white bread and jelly, small tangerines to eat. Avoid at all costs. I'm not a complainer and dont write negative reviews unless its really bad.

Stayed here twice. Love this location and all staff so friendly and very attentive. Room clean and comfortable, amenities great with pool Jacuzzi and gym. Best part is having breakfast every morning downstairs which is totally fabulous and convenient. Love all the front desk staff and HSKP. Feel very welcomed which makes for a pleasant stay. I manage a resort in Hawaii so it's very important to have wonderful customer service. We're going back in April and looking forward to seeing the FD staff with Hawaii goodiesNearby activities: The location is very convenient, stores, shopping, restaurants all near by. I love having IN and OUT Burgers right next door. My Grandsons College Hartnell is so close which makes it great, I get to watch him play baseball 10 minutes away. This place is a perfect place to stay

Run, do not walk, from this hotel. It is absolutely one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. And at the price of $174, it should have been so much better. A complete rip-off. The hotel apparently does not care about the well-being of their staff or the hotel. When we arrived on the evening of our stay, there were no staff anywhere to be seen. A couple of other guests informed me that the staff were on their dinner break and would return in about 30 minutes. What? There's no one else to check us in?When we finally did get to our room, it was worn out and falling apart. We were on the first floor and the curtains were falling off the rod and I could see people in the parking lot. The beds seemed clean, but now, after reading reviews that included bed bugs, we may have missed seeing those. The ceiling looked to have blood splatter on it! What happened in this room prior to our stay? The bathroom was old, worn out and filthy. I didn't even shower there because I was afraid that I would get dirtier or catch something. See attached pictures. This hotel should be bulldozed down. And, not rebuilt because the owners of this hotel don't seem to care about the customer experience at all. Apparently, they are only interested in collecting the money. In hindsight, I should have asked for my money back and stayed elsewhere. Unfortunately, I was exhausted from my travels and didn't have the energy to start over.I had some hope that the "free" breakfast would be an improvement of my overall impression of the hotel. Wrong. The only thing that was really fresh were the "make your own" waffles and those were mediocre at best. There were six apples available , displayed in a way to give the impression of a banquet of fresh fruit! See the picture. So, my message to the reader- DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. I am sure that it must be one of the worst on the Central Coast and there are better places to stay!

Nice room but several USB charging ports were broken. I had to use one by the TV. The staff & front desk people are very good and helpful. We arrived at 10 PM and they were great, the one gal was a new trainee and she knew what to do. Kudos to all of them.

Worst place to stay at. Room had cockroaches and the toilet didn't work. They refused to give us a refund for our room despite not staying. Extremely dissatisfied with the customer service and willingness to work with me.

Let's just say - this stay left a lot to be desired. I don't even know where to start. Maybe with the fact that the night employee brings their dog who barks all night keeping you awake at all hours - or the inability to fill water bottles because the filtered water station in the fitness center sits powerless & without a water line - lesson learned that some times it pays to spend more for a hotel.I mean - silver lining - you are a couple doors down from In & Out if you are hungry LOLWord of warning - not the best area of town. When an uber driver tells you "Well I wouldn't leave my car over night there" you start to realize what you got yourself into.So if you are looking for budget but don't plan on sleeping or wanting to get out of the hotel and walk around the area - this your place. Otherwise, I suggest spending a little extra for an upgrade.Safety: When an uber driver tells you "Well I wouldn't leave my car over night there" you start to realize what you got yourself into. There were a number of homeless people walking the streets near by and a lot of traffic due to late night in & out guests.

I spent one night here. In room 204. And needless to say it was the worst experience of my life. While sitting on my bed I noticed something moving. Upon further investigation it was a bed bug. I will never stay at this hotel again because now I had to not only, pack my stuff I have to rewash and make sure that I do not take this infestation to my home to where would affect my family in any capacity. I left so fast that I just put everything in the bag and left. The old man at the front desk was very disrespectful and unprofessional. They blocked off the parking because the individuals who park with McDonald's parks in that parking lot therefore. Customers have to deal with a car blocking the extended parking and cones placed outside. It is the worst experience that I've ever had and I hope that my company never puts me back in such a hotel with such disgusting rooms. I would have rather slept in my truck then slept in the room at this particular Best Western.

Attempted to modify a reservation well within the cancellation period through their online reservation site and the reservation cancelled some of the days I wanted to stay on. Called Best Western reservations and their computer system was doing the same thing, so my reservation ended getting changed to a rate almost $100/night more than the original reservation. I was advised to call Customer Service and they would be able to correct my reservation back to original nightly rate and they would not honor it. They said the hotel itself could give me the original rate, and I called them and they would not honor the original rate for the 2 nights I wanted to stay either. I will never stay at this hotel or another Best Western chain hotel and I requested cancellation of my Best Western Rewards membership.

It's a best western. We didn't utilize the breakfast room. 2nd night was rough. The people above us were either playing rugby or wrapping bodies to bury. Noise started around 8:30, picked back up around 10:45, then at 12:40. I think I feel asleep at 2. Staff said they'd do what they could. In the morning other people were complaining too. It was pretty chill otherwise, not many people there. It's really close to an AM/PM and In N Out. Stayed here to be close to Pinnacles Ntl Park.

Room was decent but no microwave, I thought it was included from the hotel's description of their rooms, but maybe I am wrong. I was able to check in early, that was a bonus. Worst part was the homeless people allowed to come in and have breakfast with paying guests. Crazy guy came in after digging through the trash at the lobby door and then starting making himself a waffle. He couldn't figure out how to use the batter dispenser and just stood there screwing around. Didn't get my waffle. Dude shouldn't be allowed in, he can go to a shelter for food. But those places have rules and this place doesn't. I don't care about the optics of what I said. Deal with it.

This hotel was very clean and attractive. The rooms were very nice and so quiet. The beds were comfortable and we got an excellent night of sleep. We wished we could have stayed another night! The dining area was clean, too. One slight disappointment was that there was only one protein item and you had to microwave it. Over all, though, we were very pleased with our stay and would recommend this place to others. Oh yes, and there was a washer and dryer available and a nice fitness room, too.

All our power outlets were broken, we told the guy at the front desk and he did that they were waiting on their order.... room was ok. Homeless people were eating breakfast early.... they all parked their, house right in front of the lobby... not doing not to feed them but, I noticed other people were not going into the breakfast area once they saw those guys in there. That issue should really be addressed.

Was disappointed in Best Westerns lately: 1) Had to wait a long time at 12 am to check in while staff spoke on phone, 2) 2 lamps in the room did not work - especially an issue because BW has generally decreased lighting in all their rooms at all their hotels, 3) an unhealthy prepackaged breakfast sandwich in a dark breakfast room. . . . . . .
