Yikes, I can't believe that the rankings aren't higher on this. I have been to quite a few places and this places really is a serious location. The prize winning ZIn's are not characterized by the blow out... Rather by being even and sophisticated. The owner is a real hoot and the style and presentation are really worth taking some time to get to know.

Visited the Downtown tasting room during our last day in Napa and I’m so glad that we did! The location is tucked away off of Main Street but when you go upstairs the space is just lovely. Urban chic, lots of beautiful Black art and books, great music playing and exceptional service. Would highly recommend, especially if you’re looking to support a Black-owned business.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Brown Estate has incredible wines and their downtown Napa tasting room is always my first stop when I visit Napa! It's beautiful in design and the staff top tier!! We've celebrated birthdays, girls trips, couples trips...all with Brown!

What a delightful wake-up call to Brown Winery! We had a ten o'clock am tasting which included our choice of two tasting menus. We opted for the reds as this vineyard boasts historic Zinfandel orchards. The sommelier was knowledgeable in the history of the fields, grapes and wines available at this Black-owned family winery. Cheese boards are available to complement the tasting for $20. A must do in Napa!

What a treat!!! Drove up here while in San Francisco. It was definitely worth the trip. The place is stunning. The people so friendly. We did a tasting as well as a cheese plate. I enjoyed everything on the plate!We were a bit turned around as far as where to enter but we figured it out.

What a wonderful place! My wine guide was extremely knowledgeable and made sure that I had a fantastic time. He explained the different red and white wines very well. I loved them all! I also purchased a Brown T-shirt because why not?! The staff was great, I really enjoyed the experience, the music, and the atmosphere.

Visited Napa for a week’s worth of great wine and food tastings and Brown Estate was hands down my favorite! Unfortunately, the vineyard remains closed so we visited the downtown Napa tasting room. My wife and I enjoyed every aspect of our visit. First, it’s tucked away off the main street and kinda easy to miss if you’re not paying attention. Behind the door is an elevator that takes you one floor up to the room where you’re welcomed by a member of the staff. The decor is urban chic, dark tones, simple but classy lighting, BE family themed accents, and just an overall “chilled” vibe. Taylor took exceptional care of us and was great with providing a history of the family owned estate and especially the unique stories behind each wine. My wife is a white/rose type and I love my reds - which made this tasting perfect as we were both satisfied with the options. The Charcuterie Board was a bit different than the norm - in a very good way - with more than the usual meats n cheeses. We ended up shipping 6 bottles back (with definite plans to order more). Of the 7 wineries visited, BE topped them all (and we did visit a few of the “must visit” wineries). Napa wasn’t actually among my bucket list destinations, but BE will definitely be a repeat whenever we return.
A few general observations about Napa - NOT related to BE - I’d do differently next time:
1. I’d probably stay at a hotel vs resort. Save the $$$ n use for tastings/food
2. Rent a Car! Driving services wanted almost $1k for 2 days — I got a SUV @ $230 for 3 days
Bottom Line, you will not be disappointed at Brown Estates!!

Never have I felt so at home and understood than I have at Brown. Everything from the ambiance to the bathroom wallpaper this place has depth and culture! Oh and yes the wine is also very VERY good lol. My second time here and the experience only gets better every time. Will continue to be a loyal customer!

Super disappointed with the lack, or quality of service. Several messages left over a three period to request a tasting for a party of eight. No response at all. I called Saturday to ask if they could accommodate our party, response "nah", silence. Okay, trying to support, I guess not. Just my experience...

Wow what a wonderful place and very warm and welcoming staff . We've had this on our list for a while and finally made a reservation to visit. The downtown location is open via reservation, very nice , clean and sanitizing between customers . Highly knowledgeable staff and warm that makes you feel very welcome. We had Gina our hostess that was excellent and extremely knowledgeable and helpful in our tasting . We enjoyed the delicious wines and great experience and bought a lot of wine to take home . We also are going back in January to bring our family from out of town. Highly recommend a visit , make reservation and enjoy .

Where do I start... I found out about Brown Estate through a Wine Enthusiast, Alexis Martin out of the DMV area. She mentioned this vineyard was a MUST DO, when visiting Napa. She was right! Everyone from the beginning to the end of our experience was superb! By far this was our favorite experience in Napa. Our tasting was led by Taylor. She was kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable! We ordered 3 bottles to go and some apparel. We plan to come back and visit with family and friends in the near future. Thank you Taylor, Alexis and the entire Brown Estate staff :)

Waited for so long for Brown Estate to reopen their Napa tasting room. It was worth the wait. Exquisite wines with knowledgeable tasting room staff. Thanks, Marco. Today was special.

We headed to visit new (to us) wineries in January 2020 - Brown Estate Vineyards. We will never forget the fabulous day! The most amazing wines, inspirational quotes, fabulous books. They prepared a fabulous cheese plate. Oh, and did I mention the wine??!! Chaos Theory has become a household favorite. I highly recommend a visit to Brown Estate Vineyards.
