got hot food from the deli today . was surprised when eating my Mac n cheese ! something I couldn't chew was in there . turns out it was a hard plastic ring with most of it melted off. I've tried calling for the last 30 minutes but none of the departmeets in the store pick up the phone . Hope someone sees this today so they don't also order the Mac n cheese with melted plastic in it ! I don't want anyone to get sick or injure themselves biting down on hard plastic or ingesting it! please get back to me Safeway ! I wish your location would just an the phone!

I mistakenly visited this Safeway location on June 2, 2023. I had just gotten out of a yoga class and was craving kombucha. I grabbed my reusable bags and headed towards the left-most entrance of the store. I immediately noticed there were no hand baskets available and I had no idea where their carts were as I didn't see a corral outside or inside by the entrance. No big deal. I will carry my groceries in my reusable bag and pay for my products at the end of my shopping trip, which I have done regularly for years without issue. I was made to feel very uncomfortable the last third of my shopping trip. With the kombucha secured in my reusable bag around my arm, I decided to pick up a pack of white claw, which I was visibly carrying in my free hand. It was at this point I noticed an employee give me the dirtiest look I have ever seen before he turned a corner away from my line of sight in the alcohol aisle. I didn't think much of it. Just thought it was weird. I made my way to the deli area, which is located by the other entrance, to buy some chicken for dinner. After the employee handed it to me, I placed it in my reusable bag along with the kombucha. As soon as I walked away from the deli counter, I noticed a security guard made his way to the entrance by the deli and just stood there staring at me. I thought how odd it was to see a security guard at Safeway, but then again, I'm not from this area nor have I ever been on this side of Elk Grove. I started to make my way towards the registers until I remembered to get some sauce for my chicken. The signage inside the store was confusing so I immediately decided against it and turned back around towards the registers. That's when I noticed the security guard had been actively following me. I walked right up to the cashier and paid for my items, which I was already intending to do because I have integrity, something I learned from my upbringing and from the Peace Officer Standards and Training academy in Galt, CA. The security guard and employee that gave me the dirty look actively hovered around the check out lane I was in. I just stared at them since they had so much interest in what I was doing. I immediately called the store when I arrived home and asked to speak to the store manager. I wasn't patched through to the store manager, but a manager on duty. I told her I was followed in the store and asked why. What reasonable suspicion did I cause to bring this unto me? I don't think I dressed frumpy. I don't think I acted suspicious. She said it was because of my use of reusable bags to carry my items and since the start of COVID they have had a lot of theft. How is that my issue? Your store did not provide hand baskets to customers and your carts were not easily accessible. I was told I would receive a call about this from the store manager and I have yet to hear from them. I have shopped in more affluent areas and better grocery stores and have done the same thing for years BEFORE COVID and never experienced this dehumanizing experience before. This badge-carrying Peace Officer will never shop here again. Worst experience of my life.

The Safeway at the corner of Calvine and Elk Grove Florin is one of the busiest Safeway stores in the Sacramento area. The parking lot is always jam-packed, with many cars trying to get in and out. The supermarket is big and clean inside. They keep an outstanding inventory in the store. Most of the items are in stock, including those in the ad. This is one of the Safeway has gas stations on site. Unfortunately, it made the already crowded parking lot even more traffic. I try to avoid this Safeway store because of the parking lot issue unless I am in the area and needed something right away!

This Safeway has everything I need, clean, well organized and always in stock. Ample of parking space, push karts aren't laying around like other Safeways.

This review is strictly for the bakery. I placed my order for my baby shower cake, a naked three layer 8 inch cake. Something super simple and my aunt has purchased one for my niece for her birthday so I've seen their potential. The employee informed me they only need to be notified 24 hours in advance about cake or cupcake orders. The cake I requested was $29.99. Definitely more reasonable than going to a fancy bakery and Safeway can make a decent naked cake from what I've seen. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the cake came out uneven at the top and wasn't really resembling a naked cake. However, the taste of the cake was excellent. I also wanted to point out had it not been for the employee, Dillon, who assisted me at 6:30 AM, day of my baby shower, presenting a solution for their shortage of white circular cakes I would have given this review 3 stars. As stressed as I was he was apologetic, super kind, and extremely helpful. Would I order another naked cake here? Probably not. Another type of cake or cupcakes in the future? Yes since their cake & buttercream was delicious and at a fraction to other bakeries.

Typical Safeway, easy to find what I was looking for even though I'm not a Safeway regular shopper. Good selection of what I needed, conveniently located/nearby where I was working. Customer service neither exceptional or poor. Got band-aides and antiseptic for a couple rabbit bite wounds, yes rabbit bites. I do like their gas station, in and out access is ideal. I've used the gas pumps in the past.

This location is always clean on the inside and fully stocked, the addition of new self checkouts also makes a quick trip much easier! I love the Starbucks staff here and the cashiers are always friendly. This time around I was looking for some pool toys and floats and found they had a great selection! So many different types of inflatables and items perfect for a pool day. I will be back soon!

Best Day Ever at this Safeway!!! Sitting on a chair waiting for Starbucks. Noticed it was part of a Bistro set on Sale for 75% off. So, went to clerk, Newton & he said, Yes for the display model. Bought it & next the magic happened. He needed mgr approval as the discount was over $250. So, the mgr comes along & says, I bought the same set last year & this year I bought the BBQ grill too. He said he had one left in the warehouse. He brought ot out & I saved 75% plus another 25% off that total paid $217.40 saved $700. The only reason I went in was re an email from a settlement from Safeway for $17.40. So, Grill cost $200...Never saved that much $$& ever....Thankyou also to Austin for bringing items out & loading them too! Great Experience...In Awe...

I have been in this community for over 30 years now and have seen this business built from the ground up. I was ecstatic when I found out I no longer have to drive 20 minutes to do grocery. I must say over those years many improvements have been made to the interior of the store. Most importantly, for me is the produce area - it is well stock, clean and neat. This includes the employees are all friendly and willing to help ( I understand there are days you don't like dealing with people, coz they can suck); I especially love the ladies in the cash registers who I've come to know. Today, I decided to try the on-line service to pick up my purchase (I wasn't feeling up-to-par) and what do you know it's heck a convenient! The bananas were in the stage I would buy them if I was at the store. This experience makes it a 5 star for me. Overall, this store (in-spite of the ugly reviews) is convenient, organized, clean, friendly employees and management team. This is my first go to store to buy my groceries! I RECOMMEND.

5-30-22 This review is based solely on the Bakery department. I went to 3 different locations to find an amazing cake for my girlfriend's birthday. Fortunately, I came to Safeway and found an amazing Princess cake! Before coming here, I was across the street at Bent Air (lol) and the cakes looked like trash. ALL of the cakes at Safeway looked amazing and fresh! The sweet older lady that helped me was so nice (I wish I got her name). Everyone at BOB'S CLUB raved about how beautiful the Princess cake was. They said that I must have paid $100 for it!!! Thank you so much Safeway and the sweetheart who helped me out today. I choose to shop there now.

If I could give zero stars for customer service I would. I have never been so disappointed in my life. I just wanted to give a cake to my mother on Mother's Day and have it written on and the Bakery manager did not want to write on it because it looked like there wasn't "enough" room on the cake to write on. There is plenty of room to put my mothers whole name on the cake. She didn't even look at my cake to see if there was enough room or not. Coming from one bakery manager from another, do better. This is exactly why I shop at bel air.

I know it is super bowl Sunday but what I experienced today was not okay. I was in line for the deli department and had ordered an 8 piece fried chicken bucket. Literally a minute later a Caucasian lady comes up and orders a 16 piece, keep in mind there were not many pieces left, and they ultimately gave it to her first. They then told me it would be a 15 minute wait for the next batch. The icing on the cake is when I voiced the issue and the young gentleman had the audacity to say "they ordered it at the same time". No. I was there first and I had ordered a whole minute before the other patron ordered hers. Totally inexcusable.

Really like the store but could you PLEASE enforce the mask mandate? I was there today and saw so many people walking around without masks, I had to stop an employee and ask if the mandate had been lifted and I wasn’t aware. The man in the deli said they aren’t allowed to say anything. SOMEONE should.

I ran out of heavy whipping cream on Christmas Eve and I needed more for Christmas Day dinner. I tried to go out at 8pm to find whipping cream. A lot of places were already closed. Many stores were not planning to open until Monday on 12/26. I panicked! Luckily online Safeway at this location at Elk Grove Florin was going to be open on Dec 25. Next morning I got there exactly at open at 8am. Luckily there were still some Heavy Whipping Cream. I have to say all the baking products that they display at front were all gone and they didn't have black molasses that you may need to make gingerbread men/women. It's ok I already had it in my pantry. But I can't help but noticed everything was mostly gone. I finally made it home to make my fruit basket cake. It's a family favorite around Christmas.
