This store has rustic type stuff. They were really nice. I found a beautiful tar lined basket and long candle snuffed. My friend found a small barrel.

I recommend visiting the Ruralist if you are curious about natural, old, reused things with a patina, a story, and also to meet Tom. A very cool guy who likes the same things I like...there are enough beautiful things there to spend an hour or more looking at and imagining where you would use it in your house! They also have a great selection of interior ferns right now!

These people obviously don't know how to run a business. I drove all the way from Fairfield to see this shop, and made sure to come at the right time because their hours were very limited, from 11-4 wed-sat. I came at 2:30 on Wednesday and it was closed. Very annoyed I came so far for nothing when they should have been open.

So this is an eclectic mix of mostly vintage and antique offerings for the home, certainly a rustic vibe that drew me in. I observed some really great one of a kind collected/curated original art, canine subject matter was most alluring to me. I would say this is a hidden treasure of a store in the somewhat obscure 57th Street Antique Row in Sacramento. Don't miss this venue if you love antiques and have some downtime to stroll thru the many shops, I think the Ruralist will not disappoint.

We loved this store!!!! Just went for the first time on Saturday - and were enchanted by the whole place. Wonderful finds and so well organized!! Among our favorites: a Stereoscope in Great condition, gorgeous letterpress greeting cards, and amazing original Lithographs! Jamie, the owner was a pleasure to talk to and very knowledgeable - a must visit!!!!
