I literally cannot get care with this insurance in under 2-3 months without going to the emergency room. All the doctors they say have availability on their site are booked. I've had them for a year and have had to work with a pcp who is monolingual speaker which would be great if I were bilingual but I'm not. Never thought I'd be so happy to go back to Kaiser

Highly frustrating Insurance Company.Became customers in 2015 when we opened our own company and needed to get private insurance for just two persons. As of August 2023, they still do not have an easy way to automate payments for your insurance. It is not possible to pay for the insurance via credit card, nor is it possible to have it auto pay from your bank account every month. In order to pay for your monthly insurance, you must log on, go through a page of information then each time confirm a one-time payment enter your routing information and turn your account information and then have it process. If this isn't frustrating enough, then when they have website issues they will discontinue your insurance even as the invoice paperwork says you have a Grace period until the 15th. They will decide to change that at will.We pay our bills. We pay our bills on time. I've never had so many issues with being able to pay for a service as I have had with Sutter Health plus.

The absolute worst insurance I have ever had. I have had this insurance for 2 years through my employer. I love the doctors and nurses. I hate member services. Who the hell is member services? The doctors give referrals to specialists doctors. Members services step in and make it a very, very long drawn out process to get into the referred specialists. When it comes to doctor prescribed life saving medications. Members Services steps in and stops the prescription from being processed and make the doctors go through weeks worth of paperwork. This causing the doctors to beg them to approve the patients medications. This is not pain meds this is regular medication. Infusions for Rheumatoid Arthritis patients is an absolute nightmare for doctors to get approved. It took my last Infusion prescription from the doctor in November to the middle of February to be approved. The prescription medication doesnt even make it to the pharmacy to be filled and paid for without insurance involvment so a person can take there medication and heal. I wated a week for the doctors appointment and now I will have to wait weeks for my prescription that cost me $44.00 through GoodRx app. Because members services blocked the prescription. This does not meet a persons medical needs. I could go Sepsis. In 2 years with this insurance plan of waiting on medications and doctors appointments. I am now at 75lbs. They weight me with my shoes and coat on doctors scale it's 80lbs. My feet, hands and elbow are completely crippled. All of this from uncontrolled Rheumatoid Arthritis and a horrible, horrible medical insurance plan known as Sutter Health Plus. I have never been put on pain meds although I live with uncontrollable pain from all the deformities I now have. My doctor said it would take many, many months for a pain management doctor approval although I am definitely a candidate for pain meds. I have spent countless hours on the phone fighting for my meds, doctors appointments to be approved with no end in sight. This practice should be considered criminal. I think it's time everyone that has the horrible insurance get together and file a class action law suit. It needs to be known people are dieing and losing their jobs be cause of this horrible situation ? If you are looking for Healthcare coverage run before they kill you! This is definitely 3rd world country medical treatment with this Sutter Health Plus plan. Don't put yourself and family through it. As soon as I can get out of the situation I'm heading over to a whole new insurance group.

When you get to a certain age Sutter will delay care in what I can only believe is a hope that you will die sooner which will save them buckets of money. If you want to live healthy go some place else.

I hate Sutter health plus! They have obnoxiously high deductibles and charge for PCP visits until you reach that threshold. So if you don't have the money, you can't ask your doctor for a referral. What a ripoff!

I have used Sutter before when I have a ppo with another insurance and they treated me very well. Now I have Sutter Health Plus, HMO. I must say I can not find any difference between both. They treated me excellently !They treated me for cancer and just recently had back surgery, everything and everybody involved was great. Yes, sometimes appointments take time but they were able to accommodate me with another doctor or nurse to see me, even faster when I had another insurance. They have the walking care where you can see a doctor same day if you have something urgent and also the emergency care.I must say I am very pleased with Sutter. Ten stars!!

Switched from a high deductible Kaiser plan to Sutter Health Plus. Not at all impressed- i have never had to wait to get an appointment with Kaiser, a dermatology referral with Sutter is 2 months out! They also insist on dr visits before theyll do anything (even order up a covid test)…then they bill me $150/ visit. Kaiser isnt great in a lot of ways, but waaaaaay better than SH+

I'll speak for myself and my clients. Sutter Health Plus does a great job of following up with their brokers and getting them the resources they need. I was able to get a tour of the walk-in clinic from the regional broker who drove 2+ hours to meet me and show me around. There are so many benefits that SHP offers to their members and I have personally spoken with many internal Sutter associates who give me their time to discuss thoughts and ideas. I appreciate this brand and would be glad to help anyone in need of coverage. Just call 812.870.4882 Tony Reed

I started 2 years ago. $800 a month. Ok. I am now paying $1100 a month and they changed prescription companies that hiked up all prescription s and the doctor/pharmacy/new prescription people are not on the same page! Almost died waiting for my asthma inhaler and still going through similar issues. I'M OUT! ASAP?

No no and no. These are the most sarcastic rude group of people I've ever encountered. So if you're not passionate about helping people then go into another line of work like a textile factory worker so you don't have to deal with peope.

Why would you create a website that basically looks like SUTTERHEALTH, but now call it SUTTERHEALTHPLUS? Lemme answer, to confuse people into thinking they are contacting SUTTERHEALTH. Not a good company, not a good health provider. Period.

I recently switched to Sutter Health Plus after 11 years with another HMO. This option was cheaper and appeared to be similar coverage. A friend highly recommended a local Sutter doctor who appeared to be accepting new patients so I enrolled my family of 6 and selected the recommended PCP. Today I called to get an appointment for my son for a vaccination. His girlfriend has an incurable disease against which he has never been vaccinated. The first available appointment was 10 months out. A doctor who can't see you for 10 months isn't really accepting new patients in my opinion. This is called 'bait and switch'.Upon closer inspection, Sutter assigned 4 of my family to the doctor I selected and assigned two of my children to two different doctors without my knowledge. I now have to choose a completely unknown Primary Care Physician for all 6 of us because 10 months seems a little crazy to wait when my son could be exposed to an incurable disease and needs a vaccination. I called customer service and was told that all of their doctors in the HMO will likely have wait times of weeks or months. The customer service person refused to concur that 10 months was ridiculous so perhaps it is normal. I so wish I had never switched. If we have to wait 10 months, I'll be able to switch back to Kaiser before we ever get in to see a doctor with this Sutter policy.
