Rented a car from Thrifty at the Sacramento Airport in November, 2023. I had reserved a car thru the app prior to arriving in Sacramento. I requested a midsized SUV. When we reached the counter, I was told that I had rented an electric vehicle. No, that was not my choice. I told the agent that I didn't want an electric car. I have zero experience with electric, we were staying at a place that didn't have a charger, and I didn't want to deal with that while on vacation. The agent said, "Well, it's usually $75 a day more, but I brought it down to $25 a day." So, $150 more for a gas vehicle. She assigned us a Nissan Kicks, which is a subcompact, not a midsized SUV. It felt like driving a tin can. The car was very dirty, inside and out, scratched all over , and had stains on the seats. Also, did you know that if you rent a car thru Southwest, in order to get Rapid Rewards points, Thrifty charges you $8 for those points? For about 250 points, almost a break even. What?? Not sure if it's Thrifty's idea or Southwest's but not doing that again. Very disappointed with the Thrifty.

The car rental lot isn't attached to the airport which is fine. However, you are completely on your own to locate signs to figure out how to get to the rental car shuttle to pick up your car.It would be amazing if the signs were more visible and easier to locate. The rental car shuttle drivers were helpful with your baggage, this was perhaps the easiest part of the rental car experience.Locating your actual rental car in the lot is the worst! Some of the signs are easy to find and others are non-existent.Thank God for the wonderful man that was in the lot who was willing to help me find my car. (He was a gift and kudos to him for going out of his way to rescue me!)Because the directions the guy at the counter gave me were not helpful and sent me in the opposite direction of where my car was located!It was all bad! Definitely NOT user friendly! The fact that each company's overlap only makes matters worse! There has to be a more strategic way to set up this location for ease of use for your customer!

If you arrive late at night, be prepared for some oddities, such as a scarcity of car rental shuttles and preferred rental customer lines longer than the lines at the rental desks. However, I got a much better rental for the price than I did at SFO.

I will NEVER rent a vehicle from them AGAIN! The idiot behind the counter tried telling me that the rate to upgrade was the same amount I was already paying. What he didn't say was that it was in addition to the rate I was quoted. He then offered me a vehicle that was NOT ready, and we had to wait for it to be cleaned. POOR customer service, not very cooperative and poorly trained.

can't write a review with 0 stars but this is 0 stars. Wait in line for over an hour for reservations and they still don't have a car so you wait 30 minutes more for a car. all desk people having conversations like they are at lunch. first and last time I will rent from this company.

Pretty quick checkin at Budget. Attendant was sharp and way ahead of us. Shuttle was waiting and ready, ride to the terminal was not too long.

If you’re going to Terminal A your good, Terminal B you’ll wait 3:1 to arrive. Plan accordingly. Bus drivers are rude and do not engage customers.

Absolute scam. "Sorry we don't have your car available for an hour but we can give you a mustang for an additional price"30 other people sitting with me in the same situation and we can see the cars they are eventually letting people into.

Man…. When you arrive Sac after 10pm they have only one or two staff members taking reservations and you can expend up to 45 minutes in that big line before you get your car assigned, after that the cars and the prices are sort of ok

I need compensation and a lot more than the reservation cost. Well... I'm here and I have a car reservation but they have no car. It's the whole point of the reservation. The girls at the counter are even rude not apologetic about it. Bad car company bad service.

0 stars. Expect to pay more for what you originally paid for. These agents are scammers. They will do anything to upsell and then tell you there's no cars or the car you're getting is an EV where you'll have to wait forever to charge it blah blah. do not recommend this car rental place.It's a scam!

Horrible shuttle service. Had to wait over 45 minutes for a shuttle to come by. Probably would have waited longer if a supervisor hadn’t shown up and saw how long the line was and call for a bus.

The 2 Agents at the counter, Tashee and Ivayela are absolutely HORRIBLE and rude. They will make you wait if you refuse an upgrade. They should not be employed there. If this happens to you, call a manager immediately to address the issue. Please do not rent from these guys, Thrifty, Dollar. They are HORRIBLE.

The bus service to and from the rental car center is way short of buses. I know to leave 90 minutes in my schedule just to get to the terminal. Once in a while it's 20 minutes. I always prepare for the worst because smf usually provides.I watched the driver being so rude I almost got in the middle of it. But guess what, I had a plane to catch. Now I feel like a punk for not defending the poor woman.

I ordered a car weeks ago paid 2/3 at the time of reservation balance due today. When I get to the counter (noticing a lot of people hanging out in the lobby) I was told there would be over an hour wait before the car would be ready! Over 40 people hanging out waiting for their cars!One person was told her car was ready BUT the tags were expired! Really 1) Thrifty is way overbooking & 2) staff can't even send a car out because someone didn't keep it legally registered? Disappointed?? Yes!
