I love REI. Customer service is usually top notch. Today it was just so-so. Not sure if it was the time of day or what. Still love this store and will be back.

Bought shoes today. Sales person seemed bothered by my being there. (Not sure what that was about. I'd hate to think I was intruding on his day.) Good thing I knew exactly what I wanted. In and out on 10 minutes. Four stars for my shoes being in stock. Less for the experience. Averaged two stars.

Robin was my retail associate who helped me grab all the warm gear I needed for my trip to Chicago and Milwaukee. The low was -20 degrees so I needed some warm gear. She went above and beyond to help me find what I needed, called a few other stores for my for my sizes and when all else failed found options for me at the Expo location as I was in a time crunch. 10/10 rockstar! Great conversation too! I’m a couple months late leaving the review but none the less she was awesome!

They just claim any and all damage is wear and tear even when its clearly manufacturing issues.... this place is trash compared to other rei locations who will not try to gaslight you.

REI is one of my favorite stores. The store has all the clothes, shoes, backpacks, and camping gear I like. The REI in CalExpo is next to Costco. The location is convenient, but the traffic is busy sometimes. The store is big. They carry many outdoor activities gear in stock. I can get it right away without waiting for the mail order. They have a lot of high quality clothing that I can feel, touch, and try on before I pay for it. Same thing with hiking shoes. I like to try it at the store instead of ordering it online. The store has many different sections for different types of items. The layouts are very simple and easy to navigate.REI has a membership that lets you earn points and get priority discount offers before the general public. I often received discount coupons from REI by email or physical mail too.

Big selection of camping and athletic merch. The parking lot is big, and you can still find parking even though the store is next to Costco. The staff at checkout are very nice. BYO bags!

I love this store. I came to pick up some camping gear to start building my outdoors toolkit. The staff were lovely. They consistently checked in on me and answered all my questions. I signed up for the membership program which is a $30 one time fee but comes with tons of perks like discounted resale items, bike repairs, 1 year return policy, etc. Being in the store just makes me happy too. It's a paradise for nature enthusiasts.

Great REI right off the major highways on your way to Tahoe or back. It’s a bit on the smaller side but do have rental gear, bathrooms, and a good selection of gear! They have Rivian Adventure Network chargers in the lot (6 Fast chargers and 4 regular chargers).

First time and last time I’ll ever shop there .. customer service nonexistent unless you look like you have money . Went in there after a hard days work to buy a pair of HOKA’s on 9/22/2023 3:30 pm with my 5 year old .. Shoe sales man didn’t even acknowledge that I was standing right in front of him.. Did in-fact acknowledge them well dressed customers .

I used this REI store in Sacremento to pickup rental gear. I wasn't intentional in pickup the rental gear hear. This was the only one available to pickup rental on the way to Tahoe. When trying to return the gear, we found out that this store has a wierd closing hours (6 PM on the weekends), literally the earliest REI I have ever seen closing. I called them to understand about alternate options for return, like a dropbox, they didn't have any of them like that. Then I had to send in all the items using Fedex from San Jose. They charged me Late fee of 25$, extra fees for the rental gear. No concession. Such a bad experience overall. Wouldn't even step at this store.

Clean, organized, and full of kind employees! Karen, one of the cashiers, went above and beyond in telling us about special rewards options, creating gift receipts, and just seemed to be so content. Big REI fans here!

REI never disappoints. I love the consistency all over the country. Outstanding service at this location. Especially Wyatt and the team working on 08/10 (Thursday). Each staff member went above and beyond. Much appreciated.

This is the unfriendliest REI I have been to. Looking to upgrade my snowboard setup for the winter and they couldn’t be bothered to go retrieve a pair of boots that were in stock for me try on. Given the price of the boots, I didn’t want to “just buy online” like the associate suggested, given that snowboard boots are not always true to size.Thankfully the Sac Metro area has 2 additional REIs to visit for my recreational needs.
