Amazing place for someone with a specific plumbing need, and is wanting to just ask the staff for help identifying it, and then purchasing it. This place isn’t for window shopping or browsing for sinks/tubs etc., it’s definitely not a show room. 5 stars from me because the guys up front were super helpful and polite every single time I went in, easy returns, honest prices. I’d highly recommend! I saw another review saying that they were rude to women, but I 1000% did not think that, maybe there have been staffing changes.
Bonus: one of the guys there has the most adorable greeter that I’ve ever seen, such a good shop pup!

I HAVE NEVER…
Been to this store. But after reading many reviews I’m interested to see for myself. Perhaps I’ll stop by today as i am in need of some plumbing tools and supplies. I will update this asap (3/38/2024)

The staff was very helpful and super knowledgeable! It was nice to not have to dig around myself for stuff like I do at the big chain stores. Pricing was comparable, and the quality seems better than what I’ve purchased elsewhere. I’ll be going here when I need plumbing things.

This place is GREAT, they answered my call on the 2nd ring. I went in & they had an employee, right on my aisle to help me, he was SUPER nice & knowledgable. This place had things big box hardware doesn't, AND they're open until late afternoon Saturdays.

Service,selection and value. I've been dealing with Stephen for many many years. Everytime I came here they had what I needed. If they didn't,they can order it for me and I didn't have to run around town looking. I'm not a professional plumber..I'm not white..trust me we aren't family...yet I don't have a issue with Mr Weinberg. Red's Plumbing is a old school joint like the old newbert's hardware store that use to be on J street back in the day. My late god parents use to have a charge account here. You guys should be thankful places like this still exist. Yes pace supply,Ferguson's or slakeys has it for the pro's or Home Depot has some for the diy folks..red's is one of the few left americana stores in Sacramento. I much rather spend my money with a little guy then to spend it with a big box store. I get the same Yelp and google reviews at my business. When a client comes in and tries to re-educate me how the wheel works because they googled it..I kindly tell them to ask google to fix it for them. You want to be treated with respect and dignity you say? Maybe think about the dumb that's going to come out of your mouth before opening it. Never had I felt Stephen has disrespected me..you ask dumb questions you will be treated as such. I've been in Sacramento for 47 years of my 50 years of existence and have dealt with red's for 30 of those years. Hopefully I will swing by next week when I get a chance to grab what I need for a project at the shop. I've witnessed Mr Weinbergs bluntness in the past..either firsthand or someone deserving of it.

Very disappointed, my mom sent me here, saying it was a real plumbing shop and would be able to help me with what I needed. This man was sitting down chatting it up with a male customer, there was another man there, he appeared to be loading stuff up. the one sitting didn't get up just looked at me and said, what do you want. I started to explain what I needed/was looking for, he cut me off and said "just tell me what you want", he cut me off again saying that he didn't have what I was looking for. Also the store was full of dust and cobwebs. to the person that says if you get your feelings hurt don't go there." this has nothing to do with hurt feelings, the guy (owner) flat out would not even help me. he wouldn't even listen to what I was looking for and I definately didn't get any advise. truly not worth your time.

One star is too many, I regret not reading I reviews before calling. Red’s customer service is spectacularly horrendous, particularly towards women. He was unresponsive, curt, and willfully unhelpful. At one point he said he could not communicate with me and hung up.

I was warned that Red was an a hole, but he might have the part I need.Red did not try to help me. He was extremely rude when I interrupted him watching his TV. He immediately told me he couldn't help me before I could even explain my problem. He went back to watching his TV and I went to look around to see what I could find. Then he shouted at me to leave and to stop touching his stuff. I warned the next guy coming in that he should watch out because the owner was rude, and was back outside before I could drive off, and said Red didn't help him either. Worst customer retail experience ever.
