From identifying the number of lumens a room needs, the number and placement of can lights, the pillows perfectly matched to the detail color in an area rug, to fixture recommendations, curtain height and length, what type and size of tables to use, accessory pieces, bookshelf organization for functionality and beauty, to whole picture layout of a space. We absolutely loved working with Rebecca and Lillian to help us design and decorate our main living space. Every aspect of working with them was excellent, and we continue to highly recommend them. They are the utmost professionals. From the beginning, they took a keen interest in learning our style and made tons of creative and interesting suggestions regarding how to incorporate our existing furniture and decorations in an updated style that we loved. It amazed us how quickly they learned our style--and honestly loved every single thing they picked--the first time around!! They also developed a stunning design for a fireplace remodel and took care of all the details from coordinating contractors, art installers, furniture delivery etc. They were fun and cheerful and we enjoyed working with them tremendously. More than anything, their communication was incredible (especially compared to past experiences we have had with other interior designers). We got weekly update emails and detailed invoices noting all calls/emails, etc they had made on our behalf. We highly recommend them and look forward to working with them again for any future design needs.

We have used the RWD team for two separate projects, one small and one large. When we moved into our home a few years ago they selected interior paint colors and placement of our art and furniture. We were very pleased with their work, so when we undertook the complete renovation of our bathrooms we turned to Rebecca and Leah again. They knocked it out of the park! We absolutely love the spa-like feel of our new owners bath and the sophisticated lines in our guest bath. Their vision and creativity are outstanding, and their responsiveness and professionalism are impressive. I can honestly say that the Rebecca Ward team changed our lives through our home redesign. They are brilliant and creative with all kinds of spaces, colors, and needs. We have been waiting to write this review until we were finished with our home. We have been working with Rebecca and Leah for the past two years (we took a break in between phases) and we finally completed our entire remodel. During our first phase we did both bathrooms and our kitchen. You can see the professional photos of the first phase of our remodel here: It was really great to work with Rebecca. My wife and I were impressed with how quickly Rebecca learned our tastes and when we decided to do the second phase, which included all new furniture, everything that Rebecca picked out was perfect-the first time. We really appreciated that Rebecca worked hard to make sure that our home looked awesome but reflected our style, not what she thought our style should be. We had a couple of furniture pieces that were passed down from my mother and grandmother that we wanted to keep. The style did not fit with our new space but Rebecca had them refinished with a more modern look that worked perfectly with our new furniture. We have been continually amazed at the Rebecca Ward Design team's ability to design spaces that we absolutely love. We bought our home in 1998 and raised both of our boys in this home and our original design was definitely utilitarian. We told Rebecca that we were ready for a "grownups" home and what she designed is both beautiful and super cozy. There isn't anything we would change-from the flooring, to the furniture, to the fixtures, to the paint colors, to the accessories. We love it all. Thanks Rebecca and Leah!

At the end of the day, making the right design choices during a project is critically important with lasting consequences. I had a midcentury modern home built in 1963 that was unfortunately remodeled in the 90s. I worked with Rebecca and Leah to update and restore it to it's intended style. I preferred to go with a separate designer rather than a combined architectural design firm where the first question is usually "what is your budget?". Rebecca Ward design charges by the hour, and while they can make recommendations regarding contractors (and I ended up using several of theirs!), they do not have the same conflicts of interest that come from the designer and builder/contractor being rolled into one. I already had quite a bit of experience with remodels, so I didn't need hand holding through the project. I had many of my own ideas about what I wanted, and RWD was able to work with me in either agreeing, disagreeing, or modifying the plan accordingly (and thank goodness they didn't go along with everything I initially suggested!) Designers have the unique perspective of seeing a project from the planning phase to the execution, and this experience is very important. I have no doubt that RWD will emerge as one of the top design firms in the region. Whether you have a major remodel project, or just need to rearrange your furniture or source an item, I recommend you call RWD for a consultation.
