This place is horrible to enter. I tried to get back to my car from the street and had to walk behind a car to get in, only to have the gate come down on my head.

No real security here. Garage is routinely understaffed. Our car and four others were broken into during the UC Davis graduation in June. On-site staff explained they are not allowed to leave their security station even if they see suspicious activity. Staff was very apologetic but made plain that there is no security against break-ins. The manager/owner of the garage promised to call us back once she knew more about the incident. Never got a call. She hung up on us when we called her and explained that we had lost more than $1,500 in repairs and stolen items 10 days later. This garage is listed as having security on parking websites. We have reached out to UC Davis to advise them there is no real security.

Not a bad location but be sure to read the times-it's actually 530-6 (!) on the weekdays. Thus, had to get my car bright and early due to this as the sign in front has the DAILY rates (which would suggest till at least midnight IMO) listed visibly with the hours of operation in somewhat smaller print below. Once again, the garage has done their legal obligations of listing the hours but I've seen hours ranging from 7pm to 730pm via various searches (parkme.com as well as Yelp). I was there by about 8pm as an FYI on time so still beyond the three listed hours but still a surprise for a parking garage to close so early. As well, it also feels as though this is the only parking garage in this particular area that closes so early especially with an event occurring at Golden 1 (a high school basketball tournament, from what I was told). Either way, got in touch with what sounded like the manager (Dan) late at night and he was very respectful and professional and I was able to retrieve my car without much problem or heavy monetary penalty. If I had called Dan earlier (his number being listed on the website I cited) I would've probably been able to get my car that night as they also have 24/7 security. But when your in a rush and worn down from a busy work day and an event (tech. talk) downtown as well as dealing with the ever growing midtown/downtown traffic, one's mind doesn't work 100% to make such calls (also didn't help there was no phone number from what I could tell listed on the parking garage). In the end, chalk it up to Sacramento not being too welcoming to those driving from out of town...wonderful midtown/downtown if you don't have to commute in and find parking options. But for a city lacking extensive, safe/clean, and thorough LRT/Bus/high speed options (and rent being too ridiculous to live there as a former resident of midtown), some folks gotta drive into the city for events which, in turn, sees our money go directly into the local economy. And one would also Lyft into the city but living about 30 minutes away wouldn't be as cost effective as driving (especially when one isn't drinking). Expanding the hours for a garage like this would go leaps and bounds to helping with that parking issue IMO.
