I just had a set of really frustrating experiences with this agent's office after being a customer since 2014. I had a rock chip in my windshield and had heard from a friend that her insurance covers the repair for free since it's considered a preventive issue. If you fix a chip, then you don't have to replace a windshield. Well, when I called State Farm asking about this they immediately started asking about my deductible. What? I was told they work only through All Star Glass and I would have to use my deductible if I filed a claim. All Star Glass told me the chip repair is only $65, so why would I file a claim for that if State Farm isn't even going to pay for it!? All Star Glass offered to do it for free (and did do it for free) because they get a lot of business from Jason Armstrong, but that makes me have a favorable opinion of All Star Glass, not State Farm. Then with my luck, my back windshield is vandalized when someone threw a rock through it. This unfortunately happened to my housemate with AAA insurance two weeks ago too and while it was frustrating for her to have her car vandalized, it only cost her $50 for the repair with full glass coverage. So, when the same thing happens to me and I'm told my deductible will be $500 to get a $615 back windshield, I'm definitely feeling like I should have had AAA insurance. State Farm does not offer full glass coverage and lower or no deductibles for repairing or replacing auto glass. And guess what? That's coverage that matters since all of a sudden I have to pay $500 for having my car vandalized. Why have I been paying State Farm, and in particular Jason Armstrong's office, since 2014 if my very first claim they are only going to cover $115!? On top of it, I just got a quote from Safelite that they will replace my back windshield for $360, so there is absolutely no need to file a claim that won't cover the expense anyways. If you are shopping for insurance, consider getting full glass coverage and/or making sure your deductible is waived or lowered for auto glass. I'll be switching to AAA insurance, so if this happens to me again it will be 100% covered with no out of pocket deductible.
