Sold me fake coins and a 15$ minimum for credit card is outright ridiculous. Never going back after being ripped off like that.Edit: The owner has replied a whopping 6 years after I posted this saying that he is selling 3 yuan coins that are real. First of all this was 6 years ago this happened why are you just now replying?Second: I want you to google "fat man dollar" aka the "Yuan Shih-kai silver dollar". I was sold a fake one of these from this store. It has been confirmed fake by multiple experts. It even sticks to a magnet. You may not sell these fake coins anymore but 6 years ago you or whoever was in charge 100% did.

Although it has been reported closed, it is not. I went yesterday and purchased some items. The owner was there as usual. He just doesn't keep consistent hours.

So this Chinese store not Japanese as another review ignorantly referred to is pretty interesting. I love all the granny shoppers you can choose from. They also sell the old china dishes my mom used to use when I was a kid with the giant fish on them. I love that they sell hot pot supplies and large clay pots and cute little teapots. They also sell a lot of gaudy costumer jewelry, stickers, and random accessories. It's basically you run of the mill variety store you'd see lining up the streets in SF. Of course sacramento only has one.

I can get lots of cheap groceries here and a lot of stainless steel utensils. The man behind the counter is really nice and helps me with what I need. They sell things from cute little charms for your cell phone/keychain to phone cards for long distance calls. There are also sandals, toys, other accessories, and pots and pans! Interesting place to shop at :)

I was passing by and decided to stop and check out this interesting looking little hole-in-the-wall shop. The sign out front proclaims: Household Supplies, Accessories, Chinese Art. That doesn't begin to cover the wide variety of items to be found in this tiny store. It had an amazing amount of plastic shoes and sandals, hair care products, food stuffs and utensils, pretty plates and bowls, little carvings, umbrellas, cosmetics, and just so many more things I can't even list it all. It was fun just to walk in and be overwhelmed by the magnitude of objects and all the color and variety. I was greeted pleasantly when I entered, and was asked if I needed anything when I had worked my way around the store and back by the front counter. I didn't buy anything this time, but think it would be a good place to return to when I am in the mood for a shop with China Town vibe.

I have always passed by J&J company multiple times because I frequented The Quickly Bubble Tea store next door in the summer time. The extent of my shopping at J&J was merely window shopping and seeing all the fine cart on wheels that the old Chinese ladies roll around downtown with. I have always wanted to go inside to check the cool place out but never had time and was a bit nervous to speak any Mandarin (haven't spoken Mandarin in years). After years of lugging around loads of laundry up and down my apartment building (our laundry machines are in the basement which means carrying two to three loads of laundry by hand weekly) I was determined to go to J&J to pick-up one of these signature rolling carts. The time had arrived and I had cash on hand (yes, they do not accept Credit Cards). The man working behind the counter was very nice. You will notice right away when you enter that this is very much a hardware/knick-knack shop. Convenient for the nearby community looking to get odds and ends for the home. You will find anything from tiger balm, plates, spoons, cleaning detergent, jewelry, socks, Chinese fabric coin purses, chopsticks, snacks, candy, and more. Affordable, decent. The cart I came looking for was in the window display and I informed the man that I was ready to purchase it! He gladly took the cart out of the window and sold it to me. No 10% discount though like many other Chinese stores but totally fine and I enjoy supporting mom and pop shops like this one. I am glad to say that I have been using my large rolling cart for a few weeks now! Now, all I need is a big visor hat, short cut hair and a vest and I will fit in with all the cool old Chinese ladies walking the streets of downtown Sacramento! Xia, xia!

Cute little hardware/knick-knack shop as other reviewers have mentioned. I wandered in here after stopping by next door for some bubble tea. Makes you feel like you stumbled into Chinatown :o) Very small shop with a limited selection but I haven't stumbled upon too many other stores like this in the area. I was able to buy a metal holder for picking up bowls/plates from the steamer that I have looked in several local asian markets for but not able to find. Bottom line: worth a walkthrough for a chinatown feel. Street parking available right outside.

I noticed this little hardware/knick-knack store while enjoying a walk around the neighborhood on a lazy weekend afternoon. Curious as to what I would find inside, I entered the tiny shop on 16th Street. I saw numerous kitchen items. Some were kitschy, and some were useful (like the stacked heavy-duty stainless steel lunch containers or hot beverage thermos bottles. I found a small dried foods section with good prices on noodles, black mushrooms and mok yee (black fungus). If you're Chinese and remember the old Po Chai herbal pills for vertigo and motion sickness, they've got those, too, as well as a few other medicinal liniments (e.g.. Tiger Balm). There were some inexpensive novelty hats made of cloth, bamboo, and satin covered paper. There were some artists' wood-handled paintbrushes, Chinese calligraphy ink and brush sets and rice paper to practice on. Know someone who'd like to try their hand at Chinese Character calligraphy? Here's where you can get what you need to get them started for very little cost. There were little jade pendants for $5 each. These aren't finished pieces, but rather raw materials for DIY beading projects. If you like rummaging around in odd little hardware or curio stores, you might enjoy visiting this shop.

i LOVE this place. The owner is one of the nicest people i've ever met. If you need any assistance, he is always there to help you. If you've never been here, you should come check it out. There is some really neat and cute stuff in there and it's not expensive at all. His stuff is pretty cheap.

I collect and love shopping for soup spoons -which happen to be just 45 cents here. Cute hair accessories, hardware-like stuff, kitchen gadgets, plus the guy behind the counter is always very helpful and extremely nice. There is also a good selection of cool tea pots and plates. What I love most is the case of jade jewelry and pendents up front- I'll surely be back for a bracelet soon!
