I love the experience to shop for used cars at the Sacramento Hertz car sales location, especially with Alejandro Angeles Cruz, because: 1) no sale pressure! They offer 2 hour test drive. 2) He took his time to let's us looking thru all of the vehicles we wanted to see. He was very patient, courteous and friendly. 3) He was prompt when I arrived at my appointment time. 4) the car selection was amazing compare to new car dealers. Hertz has so many cars to choose from like several white cars for us to choose. 5) the managers and other staff were nice as well. 6) we completed our transaction within 2 5 hours including the test drive time. 7) the price was great and no haggling. My car was like new even it is 3 years old.
I would recommend all of my friends and neighbors to buy used cars from Alejandro at Hertz car sale on 2200 Fulton Avenue, in Sacramento.

UPDATE 3 MONTHS AND 1 WEEK AFTER PURCHASE.
Update to 1:
SURPRISE. We still haven't received our $1000 refund for the canceled insurance, it's been 10 weeks since the form was supposedly submitted. We were told it would be 6-8 weeks. 5 days ago (after 9+ weeks) Steven promised to look into it and get back to us the same day. We have heard nothing even though we tried to follow up a few days later for an update.
Update to 2:
After taking a full day off work to get the car to the nearest location, Santa Clara (50 miles each way), to repair the large scratch this happened: They spot painted it with a slightly darker paint over a giant scratch. Took less than 10 minutes. It looks even worse now. It's horrible. We were told "we should just be happy it was free". Tried to call Steven at Sacramento so he could follow through on the promise to repair the car at this location closer to our home. Like talking to a door. We have given up at this point and we are left with a truly ugly looking "repair".
Sum up: Stay away from this place. And by the way. Hertz Car Sales promise to pass this experience/review on to local management has done absolutely nothing. Zero action/steps taken by anyone to help us.
ORIGINAL REVIEW, 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE:
Purchased a Chevy Bolt 23 on Jun 1st. Great sales person and buying experience (Alejandro), who the 1 star is for. He was great. Otherwise it would be 0.
Two issues that have not been resolved despite endless calls and emails for the past two months.
1. Purchased an extended insurance, which we were told would be easy to cancel if we should regret it. We did after 2 weeks. The process to get a hold of Steven (finance guy) was impossible. Called and emailed every day/every other day for weeks. It was eventually fixed, but we are still very unsure as we have not received any documents/form to show it has been canceled, nor have we received the refund of $1000 usd.
2. The car had a scratch at the front underneath. No problem, we could get it fixed at another location closer to us (we live 150 miles from this store). We were promised we would be contacted the week after. No one called, so we started calling every day/every other day to both locations (Sacramento and the store that would fix it) for 3 weeks. Then we gave up and started emailing since calling was pointless and always ended with "we will call you back!" and no one did. Steven doesn't answer his emails. It's been more than two months, we have been promised again and again it would be fixed. We haven't heard from the store in 3 weeks despite 4 follow up emails requesting a status or update.
Point being. You will probably have a great experience at the store. If you need to deal with any issues after your purchase, don't expect anyone to care or answer you.

Purchased a Tesla from Hertz. The vehicle went months without a software update. When I tried to update the software it would not. Tesla stated the whole computer needs to be replaced. Tesla stated the software has not been updated in months. Hertz neglected to maintain their vehicle. The finance guy tried to say well if you would have brought it to us we could have fixed it. Tesla responded with only the maps can be updated through USB and not the firmware software. The finance guy said we can do things Tesla cannot. Tesla said he is incorrect unless he is somehow hacking the Tesla software which I am assuming is illegal. I’ll post all the pics. I request immediate reimbursement check for Hertz neglect.

You shouldn’t have a car listed at this location if you sent it out to another location, wasted my day off driving out for nothing. They also kept me there a good 40 min trying to “find” it on their lot.

Ask for Tatijana, she was a pleasure to work with. The first sales guy basically ghosted me so I dropped in unannounced. Tatijana was professional, resolved my minor concerns and got me out of there with keys as quickly as possible. Also, call her ahead because the finance/closer isn't there all open hours which delayed my purchase waiting for him to show up.

Rented a car for one day. Didn't get the car I reserved. The car they gave me had to be detailed so I actually didn't get the rental until 1230. Drive 2 hours away for work. Upon attempting to return home it's dark now. I realize the headlights and brake lights don't work. Called hertz and informed them off the issues with the vehicle. You're truck comes and they are making me take my belongings out of the vehicle and leave on sidewalk because they said they have to tow it. I was told I can pick up a replacement in San Jose (really). Mind you I live in Sacramento. I only had the car for half a day. Hertz charged my credit card 267.00 even though the contract is still open I didn't get a full rental as per our contract. Manager at the Fulton location very rude. Fyi don't ever rent from this location... You have been warned.

I wanted to give this place a 5 star rating, I seriously did. I'll talk about the positives first. First of all this is a great place if you are looking for used cars that are 4 years old or less and low mileage - that is 60k miles or less. Second positive - you will mostly find vehicles of all kids shapes and sizes. I didn't find too many compact cars OR really large SUVs (4 runner, Durago type). Third positive (could be negative for a few) is that there's no haggling on price - they have a price which is below the carfax valuation so they don't negotiate the pricing. 4th positive is that they have helpful staff who isn't looking to push a car onto you, rather work with you to find your choice of vehicle. Since their fleet is big enough - there are more chances that you will find the vehicle of your choice.Fifth Positive: I found mine after test driving three different cars - I test drove Honda Civic, VW Jetta and Toyota Corolla and ended up buying VW Jetta purely due to my budgetary constraints. I worked with Charlie, who was very patient and helpful. He let us test drive and check other cars, went through the other cars for sale etc. This is the most comforting part since most of the dealerships are now behaving like 'take it or leave it' - almost as though they have stacks of money that they can't launder anymore.Negative 1:Now comes to why I dropped two stars from the rating. Before I went for car shopping, I had done my pre approvals for the financing and got myself a loan approved at 5.49%. But after selecting the car, I did mention that I have a pre approval and the confirmation number. But for whatever reason, the guy at the desk that was doing finance submitted a brand new application (my bank confirmed this the next day) and told me that the approval came through for 7.7% - while my repayments had negligible difference - I see something amiss here. This could probably mean that the guy is working with a lender of preference at the same bank or something else. I didn't like this at all especially after getting to know from the bank.Negative 2:They comfortably held the information that the car didn't have two keys until I finished the deal and signed all the paper work. I don't know if anything would have changed my decision, but I just don't like being given nasty surprises. Charlie gave me a contact that will make me a duplicate key, that guy confirmed that he doesn't do european cars but only does Japanese. I realized that the spare key through this channel would cost me $650 while the VW dealership was offering it at $300.Conclusion : While the spare key cost and differences in repayments would be close to $1500 in total - their car pricing was nearly $900 cheaper than carfax suggested retail price. If you can put up with delays and some of the poor way of working with customer - I guess its not a bad deal. I recommend that you check this place out before finalizing a purchase but do get the finance part a little bit more secured, that is go with a pre approval letter in the hand so that you don't get played out.
