I'm not impressed with this branch. Every time I reserve a car, when I arei, they say they don't have that size... And offering someone who's rented a midsized SUV a corolla in place of it isn't exactly reasonable.. But of course, they can rent a "premium" model in its place if I want to pay for an upgrade. All that just to get the size car I'd reserved in the first place. This happens every single time I go here.

Very busy downtown branch with little means and staff to assist you.
Car handed over very dirty and uninviting.
Had to spend time and money cleaning it.
No excuse whatsoever, very disappointed.
Will look at ccmpetitors for next lease!

Terrible! Understaffed, and cars are uncleaned by time of reservation. They told me to wait 15 minutes, and went ahead to clean cars from customers after me. No compensation at all after waiting 30+ minutes!
On the upside, all employees are very kind even when doing an understaffed and busy job.

Jackie, was very friendly, asked if I had a ride home, I said Uber, she Hertz driver could give me a ride home, that is cs you don't see often great job loved the car

Reserved what I believed to be a gas car for a two week trip at the elk grove location. Needed a gas vehicle. When I check in the desk tells me my car will be all electric. I told them that was not okay. I was told there's no guarantee the car will be gas. I asked where on my reservation it says that, and the lady tells me it's listed online, but not when you book. It's listed separately that your vehicle MAY be electric. So after taking an Uber to pick up my rental, I have no car. I asked to upgrade and they had nothing gas. Called this location in downtown Sacramento and they said they had a car for me and would honor my reservation. Confirmed it. Took an Uber over there only to wait for over an hour, which I had no problem doing. But then they told me I couldn't have that car because it wouldn't be fair to people who had booked directly with that location. Had to Uber home. Whole day wasted, three Uber charges, and no car. Ended up going to Enterprise and they found me a vehicle practically overnight and even offered to track one down if they didn't have it by morning. Think I'll just go with Enterprise from now on.

Do yourself a favor and skip this location. There was a pre existing issue with the vehicle I rented and I didn’t realize until we were in Monterey. When I tried to explain it to the manager so as not to be charged, he kept cutting me off and interrupting me, telling me I’m wrong without ever letting me finish a sentence. I finally got frustrated with him and then he accused me of being rude and yelling. I kept trying to explain the issue and he walked away and went inside while yelling that I’d be charged extra. I felt very manipulated and strong armed, almost like he knew about the issue and was just trying to scam me out of more money. I was left standing there with another employee, and I was just like you saw that whole thing, what do I do????? So anyway, I’ll handle the issue with corporate but figured I’d leave a note here to warn others of the lack of communication skills from the manager, AJ. All the other employees were great!

Service was great from the moment that I walked in. The place was neat and tidy, and there were two ladies working at the desk at the time I came to drop the car off. Both were very sweet, I got help from Jackie who got me in and out in 5 minutes! Plus she offered me water on my way out! I appreciate the care and efficiency of both ladies who worked today :)

Totally inept front desk. Huge line of people that hasn’t moved for 20 minutes. I count 5 groups ahead that haven’t moved the whole time.

Jackie was especially helpful to us, responding quickly to our need for a rental car and offering us options to choose from. She was knowledgeable and informative, as well as very pleasant to work with.

Bryanna (I hope I spelled it right) is amazing. She worked so hard trying to help me with my rental despite having a lot of unfortunate payment limitations with my credit cards. Unfortunately, I had to wait another day to rent and ended up coming back to pick it up after the holiday once I paid my balance on my card, but she tried EVERYTHING to see if we could make it happen. I will not rent from another place in Sacramento again other than here, nicest people including everyone else too. Thank you ? whatever she’s making, multiply it by 4 please!

This place is a joke, not just once but everytime you make a reservation and when picking up the vehicle your reserved vehicle type is not available and only thing they have is electric vehicle, which no one really wants,the truth to the matter is they do have it but they want to charge you $40 extra if you don't take the electric vehicle. So look elsewhere for your rental needs, not here.

06/23/24I had a reservation at this location it was a mix up on the end of my insurance company so instead of the Fulton location I was directed here. Nevertheless, I’m calling the office to confirm they have everything needed to make sure every thing can go smoothly. I was told they’re open on Sundays from 9am to 12 pm I’ve called and been calling for an hour and it’s saying the office is closed however I was told they’re open on Sundays. I should have known it’ll be something cause last time I rented from here and called I was on hold for 30 minutes. They really need to get the phone etiquette and service together at this location.

I called the 16th street location
( and got an answer) I was able to speak with the representative that was in office, he was helpful and worked out my concern.Hertz, Thank you for taking concern with the issue and getting it resolved.

The office is clean and the staff are friendly. The wait for a vehicle with a reservation can be a little long, but otherwise no issues.
