They tried to connect me to a resolution person, didn't ask for a worthless person who could not handle my problem! So, I have had Golden 1 Credit Union for quite some time now. I thought I was going to start my future career with this institution. But, I feel very uncomfortable with how I got an opportunity. And then, when the tried to reach out to the recruiter.. she kept avoiding me repeatedly. Maybe I was a bit excited about it!! But I feel so ashamed when I try to e-mail anyone such as a recruiter. I do not Receive no response. I really wanted to start a new career here but that got taken away from me. I don’t know whether or not if I should still be banking with this credit union. I really thought I was going to enjoy this. I just feel very embarrassed that wow I really thought I could get an opportunity or start a new career with them but that’s going to be a long journey for me to reconsider my decision for that ever again!!!!

I have been a member of Golden1 for over 30 years. Since they had an arena named after them their service has gotten worse and worse. I made an appointment to see someone at the College Town location about a home equity line of credit, the guy was not qualified or trained in that product. He said a loan officer would call me. Instead I received an email advising me to apply on-line. Christi Drake didn't have the decency to call me. I will be closing all of my accounts next month.

If you ask for help or seek out assistance they refer you to someone an they nvr have a solution but an excuse I have been scammed an had my information leaked through them many times but nvr complained but this time that I do an this time because it happened to me I presented them with papers an photos to show that I've been wronged an these money hungry wolves don't care as long as they get paid but now I see how the many other victims felt my sympathy I have been a member with golden1 for years I'm sorry to say I do not appreciate the respect or moral support I received they used to be community based but now its only gimmie based. If you have children you will understand smh

Golden 1 Credit Union Home Loans. Applied for Refinancing on existing home loan almost a month & half ago, - still no progress, just slowly drags on. Of the (3) previous refinancing l acquired in years' past, the Golden 1 Home is the most frustrating l've ever experienced. Unlike previous refinancing experiences, rather than meeting & doing all the paperwork in person with loan agent (as l did with last refinancing with Bank of America), the Golden 1 did everything in my case by phone or email. When l inquired about doing the application in person, l was assured by the rep that this is the preferred method. Golden 1 has had me talk and email with (3 -4) different loan department rep's; has lost or mis-filed my emailed loan documents; letters; and during 1 of 3 Golden One underwriting reviews, the underwriter questioned one my personal documents, and apparently discussed my personal loan application with a non-employee family member (a daughter) to do a Google search on my background, - when l found out about this violation of trust with my loan application- l went ballistic. As a (44) year member of the Golden 1 CU, l am never going apply for ANY type of loan with this institution again, and would certainly not recommend the Golden 1 Home Loan feature. I've had previous Golden 1 loans (car loans; & personal loans) and paid them all in good order, never defaulted on any credit cards and have a credit score of 812, but it appears that (44) years as a credit union member in good standing means little in this case. To sum it up, - atrocious home loan application process; and violation of my personal history information is enough of this credit union home loan for me. I'd rather pay a slightly higher loan rate for better service, than work with the Golden 1 ever again.

PEOPLE WITH STUDENT LOANS BEWARE. They said my loan was denied because my paperwork showing that my student loans are in an income based repayment plan was too old, even though I tried to explain that re-certification during the covid repayment pause was not indicated (and sent them links to the government websites stating as such). They cared none about what the government is directing borrowers to do, and sent me on a wild goose chase to obtain an updated document from my loan company. I was specifically told by Golden 1 that I needed an updated letter from my student loan company which stated explicitly that I was on an income based repayment plan, and what my payment would be once payments resumed. When I sent this letter to them, they denied the loan again - this time BECAUSE I am on an income based repayment plan. They also miscalculated my income. I don't understand the level of either disorganization or discrimination occurring in that place. I should have gone with my gut and found a different lender when they hemmed and hawed at the date of my first student loan lender, and not wasted my time with their nonsense. Meanwhile, they made me open a bank account while giving me the run around and presumably knowing full well they weren't going to fund the loan. I'm sure it's going to be a real treat to try to close. Stay away from this mess of a credit union, or be prepared to meet all requirements and still be baselessly denied. What a joke.

I just reached out to a attorney regarding my issue with Golden 1. They held a check from us going on 3 weeks, said it would be coming in the mail. Contacted the bank again and they said that we had to go into the bank to get the check. We went to the bank and they put holds on the account and wouldn't even give us our money that was available in our account. This has been the worst banking experience we've ever had. Theres nothing golden about extortion!

Great credit union. I was having problems paying my bill at times with a new business start up. They refinanced me with a bit longer term and a affordable payment. My credit score was reflected down during that time, but now my credit has never been better. Thank you Golden One Credit

My credit score is RUINED because of an error on behalf of Golden One. They advised me they would fix the reporting error within a week in addition to my bill . They were so sure my credit would be fixed they invited me to apply for a HELOC when the error was resolved . We they went back on their word. Golden one is absolutely unethical. I explained how errors like this adversely impact our communities and being denied the ability to dispute negative credit reporting by Golden one has impacted me tremendously.I’m knee deep in a refinance and disputing late payments on my credit has caused me tremendous stress . They’ve let my family down. I would absolutely not recommend GOLDEN ONE. I’d like to cancel my tickets to anything held at the Golden One center in addition to every account. I will refinance accordingly. I refuse to do business with Golden One

I had $1200 taken from my account on 6/21. A joint check was deposited about a day before. I called on 6/22, they explained and told me a copy check was issued and sent to me within 5 business days. Confirmed my shipping address. 5 business days pass by...nothing. called on 6/30, they told me there is a delay in the USPS mail and it could be 7-10 business days confirmed my address again. 10 business days pass by NOTHING. called again on 7/6, got the call escalated to Irene, I asked for the check to be sent to a branch near me. I expressed my frustration to Irene she did not care, finally gave me an extension, and told me to call on Thursday,7/8, so we can 3-way call the bank because it should be there on Friday 7/9. Called no answer, left VM, no callback. Called their CS line, the guy told me the notes said I need to wait until Monday 7/12 and that it should be there no later than that. Monday no call from the branch as I'm desperately waiting. Called today Tuesday 7/13, to find out the branch has the check since Saturday and called me that day?! no, they did not. Why would I not answer or call back as I'm waiting for this $1200 check?? The lady I spoke to did not care as she was "just the messenger". So extremely upset over this situation. This company could care less

After 9 years as a member, these clowns let some scammers from Singapore steal $148 from me then denied my dispute. They are not trustworthy or capable enough to handle your money. Go anywhere else.UPDATE - Despite he nice message in the reply to this review, Golden 1 is continuing to do absolutely nothing to help me. They are doubling down on trusting scammers over their own members. They are terrible.
