Evelyn (Eve) was the best. Her and her manager helped us out regarding an issue about the card being restricted. She took the time to look into the issue and helped us made sure everything was good. Eve was all smiles and made my wife and I comfortable and reassured us. The problems were solved. We would like to thank you again Eve for your help!

Have banked with G1CU for years. In the past few years, they have been slow to process my money. I come to find out that my money is being processed by third parties, and that golden one can't help me with the issue because the issue is with the third party. I paid my bill online, and this third party decided to write a check and mail it. I could have done that.

Was fine till we tried to pay for my daughter’s school at this branch. Manager never came out, and as soon as the ‘fake manager’ heard South Korea - we were shut down. She didn’t bother to see if the bank had any US locations ( it did), and the information on the form for a wire transfer I had in my hand ready to go. She literally snatched it everything from me and said no.We are now sweating this money transfer, as no one could give us proper assistance. Finally talked to someone at customer service and she sent out a new check, and the last guy informed me I could have done a wire transfer.Mind you this all started. 12.19.2023 a school deadline was 12.27.2023. We are hoping to not have to push her classes back a semester because of all of this

Came in after work and needed a quick loan without hassle. Gabby & Jessica assisted me with the option and knowledge of choosing a “Paday Loan” or “Line of Credit”. They were very polite and got me in and out of there within minutes. This location specifically I would advise to anyone who is unsure about a payday loan and need assistance or anyone who don’t want to be in a Check Cashing for hours.

I submitted a claim and never heard back. I deposited funds into my Golden 1 account using the school's First ATM in Cracker Village. That ATM stopped working mid-way through the transaction. I didn't get my money back or a receipt. I submitted the claim and they "loaned" me the funds while they looked into the situation (Schools First said they couldn't do anything) Now Golden 1 has taken the funds out of my account and never reached out to tell me the solution. Where is my money Golden 1?

This is the worst credit Union ever!! Stay away fro them . They cannot process their own paperwork and try to add late fees. They are just impressive to deal with and I am so happy to write this as anyone who wrote anything nice about them must be an employee.

Feel like they continually fall short for a bank. Phone customer service is always terrible if you can even reach someone. Their digital platforms have the look and feel of something created in the 80's. Idk. There are better credit unions out there. Just look around and find something different.

I legally changed my name over a year ago, and needed to update it with my bank. The entire process was unnecessarily obscure; I repeatedly was told exactly which documents I needed, but when I submitted those, was told I needed additional information. I was repeatedly reassured that I could do this process entirely online.Finally, I had everything in, and was told that I would have to come in to a branch, which I'm unable to do. I complained about this, and a work around was created (which I was grateful for).On the surface, my name was changed about a month ago. However, it has not changed anywhere but on the main page of my online banking portal (it still shows up incorrectly in many other places, including inter-bank transfers), and I have not been issued a new debit card with my LEGAL NAME on it (again, despite being assured that this would be done automatically.I have banked with G1 for almost 20 years, and have never once had this type of issue with them. I am honestly shocked at the poor customer service, and am a breathe away from closing my accounts and never returning.Name changes happen all the time, and your process for handling them should be streamlined, transparent, understood by your (fantastic) customer service representatives, and easy to follow through on. It should not take months to complete.I am so disappointed.

Even before pulling them up on n Yelp I knew they would have an extremely poor rating. It doesn't matter what time you go in expect a minimum 20-30 minute wait. Extremely busy, short staffed and even after finishing with a customer the tellers take a LONG time to call up the next person.

This branch consistently has long lines, sometimes out the door. There are never more then 2 windows open no matter the time of day or length of the line. The fact that they cannot adjust their staffing to provide decent customer service does not inspire confidence.

Another bad experience at Broadway location. One ATM not working, the other ATM not accepting deposits. Had to go in to the branch and wait with two tellers. Not even a thank you or goodbye from the teller after my transaction was done (TLR 5412^40543-107).K street branch is closed, so I came to the Broadway branch. It’s 1pm on a weekday afternoon and one teller. G1 doesn’t seem to be concerned about customer satisfaction.

Terrible customer service. I've tried to get credit card bills sent to me. Out of all my credit cards, I've only had issues with Golden 1. When I asked for a bill to be sent to me because I didn't get the first one, I was told there would be a $10 charge. So much for a credit union being more customer-focused than a bank.

Forced to use this branch since they closed all of the decent ones. Currently last in a very long unmoving line of customers. You would think there would be more than 2 tellers on the first Friday of the month. I actually left after standing in the same spot for 15 minutes. Totally bummed that customer service is so awful now, will be moving my money asap since I can not access what I need in a timely manner.
