This is 100 percent the worst credit Union of all time ! I tried for months to set up my auto pay and golden1 has accepted the forms in one department block them in another and then keep having their annoying collection department call me after hours in some cases to threaten me. I sent in every form wasted a ton of time , it's unreal they are in business l. I only wish I could give them zero stars and even negative stars. I hate writing this since it's not icon my nature to do this but they provoked me over and over.

applied for a new Visa. Application fell into a crack and i had to contact upper management to get it freed up. But they took care of it.

A truly awful experience. I received a loan payment book in the mail. I had never had any contact with Golden 1. I got on the phone to the Fraud department and they quickly agreed that the loan was fraudulent. Unfortunately, that person left the company and my real troubles began.I explained over and over to them for over 1 1/2 years that it was fraud. Everybody was polite but nothing changed. I kept getting notices that I had not paid my loan. Then they turned me over to a Las Vegas collection agency. (Intimidating or what?)I sent multiple letters to them with names of people, dates and specifics. I even sent one to the CEO of the company. No response at all.Finally, I reported them to the Better Business Bureau. That seemed to get their attention. They have never at any time apologized in any way to me for what I went through. They still to this day have not honored my request for a letter stating that this was fraud. I wish I could give them a lower rating than one star...

As a CA state employee had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this horrible company. Today I spoke to Carlos. I explained to Carlos (and multiple other mangers in this institution) that back in May I asked them to place a stop payment on a creditor that I had hired an attorney to help me with. MULTIPLE times they said that they could place the stop payment from this creditor. After completing all of the suggestions recommended by this banking institution. NOT once did it work. Then they tell me that after they filed a claim on my behalf that I an essentially out of 1000 dollars. Also still not trying to accept responsibility for their FAILURE with the stop payments. Horrible attitude on this guy, no compassion, even tried to justify their failure. I mean cmon where is the customer service on this planet. As I have stated previous if the stop payment was effective I wouldn't need to talk to ANYONE ELSE!!! Go figure right??

The ATM Machine is open during the weekends and it's not busy during the weekdays and waiting in-line was short. I was able to cash my check quickly. It's conveniently located next to Starbucks and See's Candies.

I have been a Golden1 CU member since 1998. I am ending membership because of a drastic downturn in reliable customer service and just an overall bad experience. Beginning with the decision to pay the Sacramento Kings 20 MILLION dollars of MEMBERS money for stadium naming rights, the decisions that G1CU upper management have made just keep getting worse and worse. The IT debacle in late October 2021 together with their ABHORRENT practices during the pandemic (why a major IT project, which ALWAYS have the possibility of failure, during a pandemic, which has forced vulnerable populations to stand in line with upwards of 50 people to handle basic transactions???) was just the icing on the cake. G1CU was great back in 1998, the best possible option. But in 2021, it's no better than being a s***** at the criminal stagecoach bank. Please, take your business to ANY other CU in the State. They will care of you better, make better decisions with YOUR money (members of CUs are the "shareholders" like stockholders are at corporations), and upper management wont be out to line their own pockets but instead line yours. I have faced wait times of more than an hour on the phone to resolve BASIC issues. Their card service CONTRACTOR (overseas not US based) encourages their telephone operators to lie (most common lie "yes, I am a G1CU employee, I work for them directly not a contractor"). And after being a victim to INTERNAL theft was held out as the crook like I was trying to scam them. A branch manager allowed my personal information to be posted to the internet from a G1CU computer, and refused to address a teller issue that caused the harm. Corporate offices refuse to even correspond over myriad issues. They have become too big to act like a CU and are now acting like a traditional bank. Take your hard earned money ANYWHERE else.

Everything was fine until this new app. I'm going on vacation, and now can't get into my account. The only people you're keeping from the account is the account holder, and the only people breaching security is you all asking all those questions.
